My favorite was the Double Dragon for the SNES back in 1992. I have fond memories of playing that game with my brother and friends. It was so much fun. I can't wait for the newest one on the Nintendo Switch. 😄
Dad took me to the arcade on base, and with five bucks in quarters, we beat double dragon. I’ll never forget , at the end of the game , as dad and I were battling each other , a group of young g.i’s we’re cheering me on. Life moment right there. Miss you , pop. Dance with momma now and sing to her.
My forever love will be Arcade and NES Double Dragon II: The Revenge. I was ecstatic when it was in Xbox's store. Such great memories returned in my mind. 👊😎
The best Double Dragon Game is a fan made version called Double Dragon Forever. The game play fighting style is both fighting styles of DD1 & DD2 plus extra moves & a 3rd player. Exactly the way DD3 should have been made. If you've never played it before. Look it up. It runs on PC. I'm sure you can find a download somewhere online.
Great video!y all time favorite though will always be the Xbox Live Arcade version with enhanced graphics and original soundtrack and sound effects. I wish they would bring it back to buy even though I already bought it!
I remember when Double Dragon appeared in the arcades. There was such a buzz around it. That never really happened again until Street Fighter 2 turned up. 😎 Great times man.
I have tears in my eyes … not cuz of the video but because of the comments … this tells me that I live in a world that’s still not forgotten … a big fan ✌️
I was looking for a bit more information, specifically the different characters that there is in each game, but still thank you for the video it was really helpful.
@@KenMasters. I can see why people would jump to the conclusion, given the fact that Shredder Revenge came out a whole year before us. But it definitely take more than a year to develop a game of this scope. The art style was defined before SOR or RCG was announced, and is actually based on my Avengers mock up in 2015 (It's still on TH-cam). I was definitely surprise to see SOR, TMNT and RCG that took the traditional formula to polish it. As an indie dev, it's much harder for me to compete in the art department, but I've focus more on the gameplay. That takes a bit more than the trailer to show, but hopefully people will like it when they try and see how much love I've put into it.
@@SecretBase Heck, they should give me the franchise. I'd remake it Final Fantasy VII style, give it a full-fledged story that's faithful to the original, and it would play like a co-op SIFU.
My goodness Double Dragon 3 where they introduce running and getting fastball special from your teammate. Anna Super Double Dragon. Man this is nosatalgia overload
I have to say, it really, really, hard to beat Super Double Dragon to me. That game just took the series to a whole new level that is tough to touch mechanics-wise, and it's a SNES game. How amazing is that!
Did you know Double Dragon 3 in the arcade was the first ever game to have micro transactions? You payed to play the game, but then you went into weapon stores and paid more real cash in the coin slot for weapons. Here in Australia it was $1 a game, but to buy nunchucks at the first weapon store cost a further 20 cents.
The Charge Bar From Super Double Dragon Was Phenomenal!! Super Punches/Super Kicks (Up To 50% Bar), WhirlWind Tornado Kicks (51%-99% Bar), Super Dragon Beast Mode!! (100% Bar!! [We Called It ^^Getting The Glow!!^^]). Great For Tougher Enemies, Swarms Of Enemies And Bosses!!
I just want people to know that my comments are coming from a place of passion and love for gaming as somebody who grew up as a child of the 80's that experienced so many generations of gaming across so many platforms that I just want the best possible future in the interest of fairness and enjoyment for everyone old and young.
Love the fact that you listed all playable platforms for the game, but some of the versions also differ visualy. could you please let us know which system was the game in the video played on. Specifically Double Dragon 3 - The Rosetta Stone, arcade version looks very differently. Which one was in this video?
double dragon with drones.. eh, guys do you remember game gear version which Billy (or Spike on the nes cover tattooed) could use guns😂 also grateful for the devs remembering Marian is a cop in the cartoon series
Only these ones matter to me: • Super Double Dragon (SNES) • Double Dragon II: The Revenge (PC Engine) • Battletoads/Double Dragon (Multi-platform) • Double Dragon Advance (GBA) • Double Dragon Zeebo (Zeebo) • Ultimate Double Dragon (PC Homebrew) - The original trilogy does NOT belong on the NES and Game Boy, the games are too big and detailed to be 8-bit, the SNES is made for Double Dragon I, II & III. - Aggressors of Dark Kombat will always be the true Double Dragon fighting game on the NEO•GEO, not the actual two! - Also, all I see in Double Dragon Gaiden is a Shredder's Revenge knockoff. Arc System Works never gives the franchise anything new, they only milk Double Dragon. - American companies suck at franchising Double Dragon. It should’ve stayed in Japan like the River City franchise.
The Double Dragon ii on NES will remain my all-time favorite.
Same
I'll never forget
G-R-A-S-P
same
3 часть на NES лучше!
@@МаксОрлов-п4и mine too!
The mechanics of Super Double Dragon are grossly underappreciated. That was by far the series best.
Dude I think the game boy advanced version of double dragon may have the best mechanics over all.
@@captainmartin1219 I enjoyed that one quite a bit. That's probably my second favorite.
Absolutely, dont forget about the ost also. Battletoads was also my favorite ost and gameplay
The double dragon of OpenBor is the best i ever played as well of Muguen in a few stages it's insane with limitless characters you ever dream😊
2nd best soundtrack imo
My favorite was the Double Dragon for the SNES back in 1992. I have fond memories of playing that game with my brother and friends. It was so much fun. I can't wait for the newest one on the Nintendo Switch. 😄
Same for me
Yeah! I played it with my brother too!!!
Yes still play the SNES version now. Maybe not acknowledged as much as could be. Great port.

🥲
Amazing, like a true movie
Little did we know as kids that Jimmy and Billy were fighting over a hoe.
Super Double Dragon was the best out of all series
My forever love will be Arcade and NES Double Dragon II: The Revenge. I was ecstatic when it was in Xbox's store. Such great memories returned in my mind. 👊😎
The Tiger LCD version was bought for me if I stopped ditching elementary school to hit the Arcades!
And you never returned to Arcades?
that game was.. so.. UGLYYYYY
The Snes version rocks so much 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Indeed, such memories with SNES and NES versions. Love them both!
1988 was the best double dragon ever
I would say super double dragon

Double Dragon IV should have been done like Double Dragon Neon: you have new graphics and sound tech, use it!
I get they were trying to make it more like the NES versions but it still wasn't that great.
@@alucard624 You can only do retro for so long before you want more updated games.
Always loved the master system version. When I fell in love with that system and those eight bit games.
That 92 snes double dragon was ahead of its time and ahead of what came after it
We all know Super Double Dragon was and still is the best in the franchise
Without a doubt, and now with the release for current platforms, it's good to see this masterpiece again!
@jeanribeiro1675 hell yea bro! I been waiting on that for a long time
Super Double Dragon on Snes is still the best.
Yes👏🙌
By far
Loved playing these classics after school no homework n straight on the console
Double Dragon Neon was a refreshing homage to the rest of the franchise... some of the camp was memorable
Nah my man my favourite has to be 5:09
Man the good old days of the ps3 i still have mine withing my ps4 XD
I had the original NES Double Dragon I & II. My sister and I loved this!
That original Double Dragon wasn't featured in this montage.

aahhhhh good old times!! when everybody kid/teen has gaming as hobby!! everything was better without internet and social media
Yes
i put my hands on NES 89, in 97, I cant forget the sounds and the stages, so deep ingrained, but came back when I watched it here. Thanks
Super and Neon are the best ones
I could still hear the music in Double Dragon for the NES
Brings back memories.
I was looking for a bit more information, specifically the different characters that there is in each game, but still thank you for the video it was really helpful.
Im so exciting for the new double dragon
So am I!
I'm not. It looks like a knockoff of Shredder's Revenge.
Arc System Works sees Double Dragon as nothing but a cashgrab franchise.

double dragon advance was epic
Very cool Liked! 💯😃✌🏾
DD Battletoads on SNES, spent thousands of hours on it during my childhood!
Nothings better than Og ‘87 Double Dragon on Sega Genesis.
One of the best video game series of all-time
The first 2 themes tunes are chilling classics
Жду очень сильно Эволюция серии игр *Ходячие мертвецы*)
Double dragon 3 the sacred stone was my favorite because u can play with bosses as well... And story was awesome too
Double Dragon 1995, was best ever fighting game i and my friends ever enjoyed in 20s my childhood
I own it for Neo Geo CD! But mainly play via emulation.
@@FWDSUXARSE have you now its cd version ?
the original beat 'em up. Staple of the 80s. had no idea they were making these recently

Rage of the Dragons is a Double Dragon game technically.

Tiger games- $20
Gameboy ….. $40

The one I liked the most is Super Double Dragon and the one I like the least is Double Dragon V, I almost felt sick playing that xD
I love this game
My all time favourite is DD2 arcade.Gaiden looks silly.
Glad I have the arcade version on psn and the nes version on xbox live. Which some one would put super double dragon up on one of the services.
Best DD is the neo geo arcade version. LOVE the pixel art so crispy

1987 original is best
O I will be buying this got the last one and it was 🔥
Super double dragon was the beast of them all 😎🔥🔥💯💯💯 and also battletoads double dragon 🐉
There's an inconsistency when you show the arcade versions, and the NES versions for the 2nd and 3rd one but not the first one for the NES.
Double dragon gameboy advance is the best... if just they kept stick to the original stages and enemies, it would be the best remake of all times
Nice video, maybe Double Dragon is the best beat em up game of all time
It was a very good call to make DD1 and II differently on the NES! It's better than the arcade and Sega systems.
Feel they need a golden axe sega come
Back trilogy on the switch as well 😊
My Childhood right there😂
Double dragon advance the G.O.A.T🔥🔥
IMO the original Double Dragon still has the best graphical style of them all.
The devolution of Double Dragon. Super was prime.
