Thank you for bringing back "Question of the Week". & as far as NewTypes go, was Lalah Sune the pinnacle or strongest NewType to exist or transcend existence? Or did that honor go to someone else?
QoTW: 1.) Does coming into contact with one or more Newtypes give you a higher chance of awakening as a Newtype? 2.) What's the difference between a Powerful Newtype like Kamille and a Perfected Newtype like Banagher?
I have more than one question but I don't know which is best, so I'll put them up for you to pick. I hope they're all discussion worthy ^w^ 1) This one is from the manga Johnny Ridden no Kikan. After the OYW, the Republic of Zeon auctioned the MS companies of the Former Principality, and the first to join this auction was Anaheim Electronics. This upset the Federation brass who were troubled by the idea of a single civilian company with all that tech, so the joined the auction as well. Was it lawful for the Republic to auction the MS Companies? If the Federation brass was troubled by the Republic doing this, couldn't they have arrested them or something? Or order the auction shutdown? 2) As mentioned in the previous question, the Republic auction the MS Companies, and the competing parties were Anaheim and the Federation. At the end of the auction, both sides could only buy half of the companies. One half went to Anaheim and the other went to the Federation. Everyone knows what Anaheim did with its half, but what did the Federation do with its half of the auction buys? 3) Why weren't the Sleeves considered a legit military like Haman and Char's Neo Zeons? I know Full Frontal lacked a Cabinet/Council, his legitimacy as Char Aznable remained questioned as Anaheim did a lot for the 2nd Neo Zeon since its leader was Char, and NZ obviously didn't have the budget to replace every old MS they had with Geara Zulus. But what else was there that prevented the Sleeves from being recognized? Also why did the Sleeves put those decorations on their MS?
Commenting before watching the episode, but my immediate thought regarding the beam rifle question is that it sounds good at first glance, but then you have to remember that Zeon had beam weapon tech in their battle ships and even in mass produced mobile suits (amphibious) before eventually rolling out beam rifles. I think they would have naturally gotten there anyway, but were busy putting R&D into other stuff. Not to mention they hadn't run into anything that would have even required beam weapon tech to shoot down.
Besides that, there's also the mobile suit part of the equation. Prior to the Gelgoog, Zeon had to make a lot of compromises to get beam weaponry into a mobile suit. The amphibious suits relied on water cooling to prevent overheating, The Zaku I Sniper needed a big bulky generator backpack to power its beam rifle, the Dom's beam gun was too weak to actually do damage, the Zeong was upscaled to fit a stronger reactor into it, and so on. Even the Gelgoog was affected by this, as the demand for beam weaponry is most of the reason why it took so long to develop.
It is mostly an issue of miniaturization. V-project units aren't just powerful but shockingly compact and Zeon took quite a while to reach that level of compactness. DOM, Gelgoog etc took a lot of workaround to reach where they are.
@@ZeroXSEED Oh yeah, that reminds me of the beam bazooka. It's almost as big as a mobile suit on its own, and takes 10 minutes to charge between uses. It's a powerful beam weapon, but it might as well be a giant "shoot me" sign on the head of any suit using it.
Also throwing something as small as a beam rifle away during combat the enemy is unlikely to recover in space, it's not like they're gonna find it where you left it, especially if thrown it keeps travelling at whatever speed it was thrown at pretty much indefinitely.
Agreed because when Char first saw the RX-78 take a Zaku out with a beam gun it was more the power that it had such as escaping one shoting a mobile suit and Char said, "it would need a beam cannon as big as a battleship's" so the tech was there the Federation just got it more compact first.
And it would probably make him a newtype easier because the Yokohama... now in Osaka AFAIK... has the consciousness of Amuro Ray in it... as seen in the closing ceremonies of the Gundam statue. And you know how much Amuro wants people to awaken so they start understanding each other
I mean, even in UC, we have a Newtype born and raised on Earth, Uso Ewin. In ep 14 of Victory, before Uso ever went to space, he gets the Newtype flash.
My personal theory is that Minvosky Particles are partially to blame. Humans in UC Gundam were evolving in that direction (because having psychic communication in a social species like humanity is a good thing to have), and the Minvosky Particle just put that evolutionary pressure into overdrive.
Honestly its probably something similar to how Celestial Being in 00 operated, yes they leave certain equipment behind once they are done and use, but said equipment is mostly made from typical mass produce material rather than specialized ones. They still leave GN Particles behind, but its so miniscule that they still had no clue what it was (Up until the Thrones and Corner...and Fucking Ribbons). Aside note, Anti-Beam Coating was developed from the beam saber slashes Exia left when trashing the Enact. I mostly think that the typical beam rifle and spray guns are like made from common typical materials that it wouldn't raise suspicion and the electronics inside were probably the same used in the standard Mega Particle Cannon but smaller, because remember, the beam rifle is mostly known as a miniaturized version of it or at least equal in its firepower.
The most limiting factor in beam weapons is reactor power. Zeon just decided to stick dedicated generators onto their beam weapons cause logistically it was cheaper to produce smaller generators than to catch up in generator tech like that in the gundam. The zaku 1 and 2 couldn’t even breach the 1k kw while the gm easily beat that. Granted the beam spray gun was pitiful, it was still a game changer compared to machine guns. And when the zeon mobile suits did finally produce over 1k kw they were not stable enough for beam weapons, which is why the aquatic mobile suits used water based cooling instead of basic ventilation because the reactors were prone to melt downs. And those beam weapons weren’t even miniaturized in the sense. Personally I liked the dedicated reactors like in the beam bazookas and sniper backpack. However i definitely hate the e pack idea cause beam weapons almost felt like they were the solution to logistical ammo shortages and now suddenly e packs were replacing bullets :/
Wasn't Lalah born & raised on Earth when Char met her and found her newtype potential? Also I'm pretty sure the Dolphin was a reference to Star Trek and how ships have a Cetacean Ops. The idea is that Dolphins, while earth born mammals like us, are accustomed to freely moving in a 3D space unlike humans who are usually anchored to thw ground, so they can help with the ships movements in the Zero G of space. Hell we used to train astronauts in huge underwater tanks, it's possible that being in water for their whole life Awakened newtype powers as if it lived in space.
Regarding the newtype question, at least in Gundam X, it is implied that the thing we call newtypes are little more than random mutants that just so happen to be similar to each other.
One thing I noticed when i was watching encounter in space in theater was that when lalah was using the elmeth it was making the la la noise via the psycommu which can only be heard by newtype or soon to be newtype What caught my eye was that general revil was able to sense it but he wrote it off as a headache caused by stress from managing the war We can assume that general revil is also a born earthnoid and made multiple trip between earth and space so either at some point he did become a newtype or was a late bloomer even at old age Which mean anyone can be a newtype whether they're young or old
im guessing the recovered beam rifles helped in refining Zeon's current MS sized beam rifle tech... maybe like how to control the heating issues or power control ... but outside that, I think Zeon would have reached the Gelgoog rifle on their own. Remember that Zeon was able develop their own compact beam rifles early in the war: Most amphibious suits uses them but have issues with cooling... but was already seemingly addressed when the Z'Gok and the Zock was rolled out. Also, the Zaku Sniper I just had a backpack with its own generator to power the beam sniper rifle. they have the tech, just not as refined as ESFS'
I always view that living in space isn't a requirement and that Newtypes can be born regardless of environment. At best, space is a minor nudge at best to what would've happened regardless. And Amuro awakening his Newtype sense is more due to his desire to survive and protect the White Base crew than anything else. Hell, his senses started to make themselves know when he was being chased by Ramba Ral on Earth, IIRC.
@@AB-ln2py I think so? I don't think it'll be made clear unless the UC timeline is continued out another few generations (UC 210 if F91 and Victory stay cannon) and human colonization of space kicks off outside the Earth Sphere to Ad Stella proportions. We need a bigger sample size than just the ~10 billion living in the Earth Sphere.
I think the girl from chars counterattack awakened on earth before she went out to space. I assume it's somewhere between learning to feel it and the combat stress triggering it
@@federationprime If we consider that Spacenoids live in earth gravity then there isnt much difference between them and Earthlings. or else their bones would atrophy quickly :D
Even if Zeon got the Gundams beam rifle because Amuro would toss some and we dont see it getting recovered in the episode the Federation was steamrolling Zeon in late December.
As for the dolphin being a new type, I can understand cause living in the ocean is another type of environment that could probably be the reason why it advanced with a six sense that’s my theory it could probably happen to humans too
Regarding the beam rifle: Space is big. Throwing it away in space to fly a random direction makes it very difficult to find and track down. And then you have to match its velocity and trajectory to go pick it up. Also it does not guarantee an interfacing port, nor does it tell Zeon how the power system works. The only thing a beam rifle does is accelerate a minovsky lattice, the power interface is still key to the problem with that. Also also, there are a lot of tiny moving parts in a beam rifle, magnetic rings and actuators and motors and the like. It's very likely that the beam rifle is or was built with a failsafe termination device that could basically serve as a soft self destruct. Also ALSO also... it didn't much matter. Even if Zeon got an intact rifle, it would take months if not years to fully reproduce based solely on getting their hands on one, in theory. And the federation wanted to end that war much sooner. Even if Zeon could rebuild it that quickly, they would then have to retool a HUGE volume of mobile suits, as well as factories and logistics lines to be able to start Making the damn things, and Zeon could not afford to take that many machines off the battlefield. Regarding Newtypes: Newtype energy seems to be mostly focused on being somehow able to exert their willpower on space itself, with the right interface, as well as a much more potent sense of personal empathy, to "Communicate without words" by knowing exactly the emotional state of others around you, etc. It's shown as an "Awakening", but I have another theory. Newtype spirits exist outside of time itself, and in Gundam, we know that Newtype spirits can be "trapped", they can manipulate time and space, they can psychically affect people, all of it. So here's a theory. Newtypes have created a causality loop. Spirits that go backwards in linear time and basically flip that latent switch that has been present in humanity all along, which would have been flipped by just moving out to space and growing up in a space that doesn't consider Up and Down as the only cause or reason to develop a thing, that enhanced spatial awareness that comes from growing up thinking in all three dimensions, combined with all the other strains of earth life being lifted and replaced by an entirely different strain on the growing body, etc. Which is to say, some people awaken on their own. But a chosen few are awakened by the spirits of newtypes. Maybe. Or it's just that newtypes are an allegory for those more sensitive to the concerns and emotions of others as seen in the real world, and their willingness to be the ones to ask why we have to continue the same cycles over and over again, and the space magic parts are just the result of studio interference, because Gundam is at its core a story about youth in rebellion in a system that refuses to change for the better.
So I actually recently had an epiphany about this and Newtypes role in human civilization after thinking back on what we know Newtypes can do thanks to Unicorn & Narrative, and how they function. Spoilers below: We know that Newtypes apparently are able to ‘sense’ the future thanks to being able to speak with the souls of the departed, and when a Newtypes is hooked to some Psycho frame tech they are able to do physics-defying feats from causing reaction-less movement as seen in Axis Shock & the Unicorn grapple. But also warp space-time by litterally deconstructing reactors and mobile suits to their pre-manufactured states. With this in mind, is it not too hard to imagine Newtypes as being capable of using Psycho tech to achieve faster than light travel, and have the ability to navigate FTL speeds with their powers? Almost like Astropaths and Navigators from 40k? Perhaps that is what the true purpose of a Newtypes is - to propel mankind truly into the future cosmos around us - not as the evolution of all mankind, but as an ability one can develop under certain circumstances?
9:50 Shouldn't be so hard since the One Year War seemed to be practically crawling with them in some form or other as we keep seeing. Since it's like they don't wanna give too much attention to other parts of UC let alone AUs. Aside from Amuro it also explains Zeon's reaction as you take out 1 it just seems to pop up like the Grey Ghost herself Enterprise in the Pacific theatre.
One counterpoint provided by the original series for Newtypes needing to be born and raised in space is Lalah. I don't recall if the original anime ever touched on her backstory, but later works like The Origin would confirm that she had her heightened Newtype senses from a young age on Earth.
I always found it suspicious that their brain waves operate at one of the few frequencies that aren't blocked by minovsky particles, a deeper relationship would explain it.
Considering Earthborn humans can also awaken, Minovsky particles make a lot more sense than just being spaceborn. I mean, technically Earth is also in space so
When it comes to Newtypes, I feel that the great philosopher Macho Man Randy Savage said it best: "the sky is the limit and space is the place." Some people can jump frighteningly high, but *everyone* jumps higher if they're standing on the top turnbuckle. So it's easier to awaken as a Newtype if you've spent a bunch of time in space, but it's not mandatory. *Ooh yeah... DIG IT!*
A question for a future Q&A, Did the Apsalus led to the development of the Big Zam or did they have separate development histories? Both mobile armors had the same concept of being a mobile weapon to have enough firepower to level the EFSF mountain base headquarters in Jaburo thanks to both having a mega particular cannon designed specifically to punch through the mountain rock. So would the Apsalus be more effective than the Big Zam when it came to such a task?
About the rifles, I'm not sure, but as for the shields... those are definitely reused by Zeon, and even by the Titans, because I think at some point, one of the Titans' pilots would grab the shields that the Mk II would discard when combining with the G-Defenser to give them to the Barzams and Hazels in AoZ.
I've always felt that it's exposure to minovski particles that causes newtype abilities to develop, so many people from earth have awakened that it doesn't make sense for it to be a space thing.
An interesting point about cooling vents is that they wouldn't work in space, since heat transfer works different without a medium like air to help radiate the heat away.
Don't forget tht the kids from Gundam Narrative (mostly it's the pilot of the Phenex Gundam Rita ) were new types of various power and she sensed danger of the colony drop.
Some other info regarding the origins of Zeon's beam weaponry development can possibly be shown in two mangas. The Rise From The Ashes manga, and the Rust Horizon manga. Kakarot197, you yourself suggested in one of your theory videos on what would have happened if Ramba Ral had gotten the Doms. And in that video you said the Zeons at Odessa would have reverse engineered the Gundam and built another one. But you see in Rust Horizon that Zeon did in fact have a Gundam at Odessa already. And they barely pieced it together from parts salvaged at Side 7, and parts from a captured GM Ground Type. But it was an unreliable mix of parts with thinned armor to make it faster. And it was implied they could barely repair and maintain it since it used parts they didn't normally have. So odds of them manufacturing another Gundam from scratch at Odessa are low. But they definitely could apply it's technologies elsewhere. No question the Gundam technology salvaged at Side 7 played a part in Zeon's MS and beam weapon development. Then in the Rise From The Ashes manga, you see the Zeon forces had a prototype Federation beam rifle in their custody. It was retrieved in chapter 6. It also seemed to imply some Zeon R&D went on in that place as well, because you see a refined Zaku 1 with a completely new armor on it. So they probably learned what they could from that prototype beam rifle, and sent the data back to Zeonic.
Even if the beam rifle was obtained by Zeon, it wasn't that big of a deal without the Gundam's generator tech. The Beam Rifle was not much more advanced than the battleship cannons that Zeon already had access to.
I feel like Quess is also a decent subject to observe the newtype theory. I feel like her character arc implies that someone who has high awareness of human potential is capable of becoming a newtype and when she ended up in space, her abilities really started to grow at a tremendous pace.
When it comes to new types being born on earth I can see it as a response to new types being born in space first. That the new types from space are first and unintentionally connecting to others bring out newtype potential in those around them.
A question that's been on my mind is why does the Gundam and many early GMs have a cross on their shield. Some sources say that its the Federation insignia but when comparing the two, it doesn't seem like it.
The Newtype question is actually really simple. The answer is yes. Being a Newtype has no determinable biological, environmental, or genetic component (except in Gundam SEED). What seems to hold people back from it is that the awakening is a difficult psychological and spiritual gap to bridge. It could be argued that even ALICE essentially awakened as a Newtype in Gundam Sentinel's finale (although the original author instead likens her to a bodhisattva). Also, Cyber Newtypes are a strange case. They have had their bodies and brains modified to emulate the physical phenomena detected in Newtype research to allow them to use Newtype weapons. This sort of creates a mental pathway for a Newtype connection without the proper awakening. Basically, if someone can survive the enhancements, it makes the leap to becoming a Newtype easier, but the proper awakening isn't automatic.
Also worth noting is that Zeon already had beam weapon technology. The real innovation the Feds made was compact e-caps. Amuro seemed to discard the beam rifles because he'd run out of ammo and we don't know if the e-caps would still look the same once spent. Earth Newtypes... Uso Ewin? I don't think it's Space so much as the mental/physical/psychological stress that awakens Newtype abilities. Whether it's combat or long space voyages.
As a continuation on the newtype question, Can you reject your newtype awakening? Yazan in the episode where Recocca defects seems to have some newtype ability to hear Her. But he in later material is counted as an old type.
This is really a question to ask in ANY Gundam Series. There a ton of weapons discarded in many series. BUT My question would be how effective are aiming systems in mobile suits. Like are they 100% accurate or 90% accurate, leaving some percentage to be missed?
Everyone might not be able to become Newtypes, but they can certainly all be turned into Cyber Newtypes. The only question then is whether or not you'd survive the process.
😊 Amuro Ray aways the Legend. Zeon may have contained the beam weapons after they was droped in battle. White base was supose to have a weapon pick, but never seen in the series super review Kakarot197 Keep up the super videos😎✌️
You could make the argument that Operation British was the catalyst for the birth of Newtypes on Earth. Dropping the colony could have, in theory, brought back some kind of microbe or some other kind of unknown element from space. Even though we have been to space and back multiple times over the course of history, only small amounts could have been brought back, being negligible on the human populous at large. But, most importantly, those space crafts were built on Earth, whereas the colonies were built in space, making it much more likely for this contaminant/element to permeate itself into the colony structure itself. With all the recycling a colony does (air, water, etc) it would make sense why we would see Newypes more in space due to this unknown element basically being everywhere in the space colonies. Operation British comes into play when much like how Cesium 137 is now in our atmosphere due to the testing and use of atomic weapons. The colony drop dispersed these particles into the atmosphere, hence how a Newtype could be born on Earth and why they aren't as powerful as the ones from space. But hey, that's just a theory.... a Gundam Theory.
I like to think that in theory anyone can become a new type since usually speaking new types are created in highly dangerous environments and the new type abilities are the characters adapting to the situation however there are a couple of outliers to this that could debunk my theory most of the victory Gundam cast
I've always thought of newtypes as an amalgamation of berserkers/enlightened beings. Like the situation a potential newtype is in determines how they awaken. I dont think a person needs to be born a spacenoid to become a newtype, or even needs to be in space, but i also dont think that every person has the ability to do so. I think like new mutations in dna randomly appear, so does new type potential.
Anaheim Electronics would've sold beam weapon technology to Zeon either way. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, "If we don't sell it, someone else will!", and all those excuses for arms dealers investing in both sides of a conflict. On another note... I wish _After War Gundam X_ was retroactively treated as part of the U.C. timeline. It would have cool implications.
I think people underestimate how much time and effort need to be put into captured technology to reverse engineer and produce it yourself. Even things like factory retooling takes up time. In OYW Zeon could've gotten the gundam itself and it wouldn't change much for them. EFF would be screwed though due to not receiving it's computer data.
What is the strongest pilot with the worst Gundam (based on statistics) and what is the wrost gundam pilot with the best Gundam (based on statistics) and this discussion should definitely include the Manga
My current head canon on newtype proliferation is it must have some thing to do with increased radiation while in space that could be unlocking these newtype abilities in humans. It's also likely not as simple as that or else every one would be newtypes. Maybe it takes a specific intensity to work like that. The sides and space craft may provide the perfect balance of radiation exposure and protection enough to survive long term. Like the Vault tech door that stayed open by a crack for the ghoul experiment. That's why we see old types who are long time veterans become possible newtypes from spending so much time in space while spacenoids end up becoming newtypes at a much higher rate simply due to environment.
@@RACH90810 This would actually explain Amuro and Kamiles power level. Both being so close by to both gundam developments. But for the rest? Were those particles present before the one year war and mobile suit development from the years prior?
Char met Lalah on earth during his punishment for inciting Garma and military cadets to rebel against occupying feddies soldier. She was already a newtype
@gerogyzurkov2259 It's implied when Rhidde asks if that's what Banagher has become when the Luminous Crystal Body Unicorn Gundam flys off to intercept the incoming Federal forces at the end of the 7th episode of Unicorn.
@darkhorse744 There are a couple scenes where we see him flashing back to being strapped in a chair with some sort of device over the eye he always covers when he's tired/injured/using his powers, I interpret that as him being some sort of Cyber-Newtype.
@lorzon Why? Why not interpret it as simply them trying to awaken latent Newtype ability? He's far too mentally stable compared to most Cyber Newtypes.
AE was heavily involved in R&D on both sides, no need to collect discarded equipment when Anaheim will just..do what they did for the other side for your side if you pay.
Maybe becoming a new type is by generation? Like in Amuro and Char's generation you neet to be on space? But then after Earth and its residence got exposure on those space magic the second generation mainly those newtype that awaken without going to space. Like they had a seed that would only grow even powerful after going to space
I'd argue that leaving beam rifles laying around wasn't as big of a deal as some think. Zeon already had the tech, they just hadn't worked out how to miniaturize it to the point of MS scale. But, I'm willing to put a paycheck on them working on it very hard. The tech they got from the Gundam would have been solutions to problems they were already working on and probably close to figuring out. Overall, it maybe took a month or two off the Gelgoogs rifle development. Without the Gundam, a few Gelgoogs would have had prototype beam rifles while the rest had standard weaponry during Star One. The closest I can think of IRL would be the AIM-9 for the Chinese and Soviets. Though, they were farther behind than Zeon would have been with beam weapons. But same basic theory. They know what the other side is using, can't quite get it working, get an example through... interesting means, and suddenly go "Oh, so THAT'S how that works." and begin mass production.
It's probably weird radiation emitted from the sun, AKA plot rays. Most become newtypes in space because it's easier to get hit by the light of god without those pesky atmosphere & magnetosphere. But if the rays are strong enough, or if perhaps the UC timeline has their own ozone hole problem, then humans & creatures on earth may become newtypes too.
Hey can you do a video about infantry ground troops in the universal century and the uniforms and guns they used for both Zeon and the Earth federation?
The newtype thing is intresting i think it depends on the person and the situation 🤔 as well as other factors the thing to consider as well there are many newtypes unknown in the flannagan institute from oyw so its really hard to define to potential or what make someone a newtype like some have enhanced piloting skills like Alma you have the judau ashtas who has like psycho abilities You have some like kou uraki and then you have amuro char who are a mix banagher riddhe the insanely overpowered to the point theyre power is feared you have the other guy in the nt but hey he really didnt accomplish much its some sort of spacial awarness mixed with psycho abilities
Hey love your video. Here is a question I hope u like. Inspired by your "What if Kira Yamato got different Gundam" and base on the "Amuro finds a different machine Meme" . The question " What if Amuro found the first main Gundam of eche the alternate universe, how would he use them and how would the technology of those Gundam affect the UC especially the OYW? Hope u like the idea. And hope to see a future development history of the Pegasus class ships like the White base.
i think i always interpreted the dawn of newtypes as something that was inevitable as an evolution of humans but that was accelerated by space travel, by the radical change of environment as stated. it's not inherent in *all* humans necessarily, but as generations go on it will disseminate through the human population until most if not all humans have some level of newtype ability, like any evolutionary trait, and like what was seemingly zeon zum deikun's vision. so in theory this trait would become awakened in some earthnoids but more often in spacenoids
Yeah, pretty sure she was born on Earth. I cannot remember if Char (in Origin) brought her to the Flanigan institute right after bringing her to space, or that she was recognized later on and Char just brought her along because Char has been a groomer from day one.
Space puts evolutionary pressure on people to develop ESP because of the 360º environment making vision inadequate. Creatures that live in the sea have a similar environment and so would make similar adaptation.
My guess for new type creation is just the time lived in space and a catalyst for the need for those powers. Amuro was born on earth after all. We see his home when they land on earth.
Questions: During your video of Sinanju development history, you mentioned Sinanju Stein almost a Gundam type. My question is what would consider a Gundam type? Is it based on the performance, the look with two eyes and V-fin? Are there more MS examples of almost a Gundam? One more question, has Zeon ever created MS that can match equally with the Gundam performance wise during the OYW?
I think the Gelgoog is supposed to be equal to the Gundam performance wise. Obviously the Gundam has better armor but other than that they should be about the same.
I recall the Japanese fandom had fun with the “What is a Gundam in UC” question early in WFM and spawned a minor meme from the council and Prospera bickering about Gundam/not a Gundam. They showed stuff like Blue Destiny units that were modified RX-79G aren’t officially Gundams, the Hyaku Shiki is and isn't, and all sorts of other weird classifications.
@mohamadsufihaziq1692 What's counts as a gundam depends on the series. In UC, gundams were originally just variants in the RX production line. The gundam gained a reputation as the perfect anti zeon ms. Over time, the design was used for newer high performance ms due to the original's fame. There's a chapter of Thunderbolt where a commander is annoyed that Anaheim is trying to cash in on the gundams fame by selling modified ms that look like a gundam, even modifying a gm cannon ii to have the iconic look. He was not amused.
I always assumed that nature born Newtypes were a genetic thing. Wasn't it outright described as an evolution of humanity originally? A result of living in the environment of space.
Question: Would the events of the Universal Century had been the same or different had Laplaces Box, or the original Federation Charter-Article that talked about Newtypes, had never been hidden in the first place? If Syam Vist never managed to get his hands on it in the first place to blackmail the Federation or the Federation itself managed to keep that article in place. While Zeon did attempt to seek independence from the Federation, Zeon Zeum Deikume's words were used as the bases for Independence although it was corrupted by the Zabis as a result, leading to the One Year War. Had that article been used, would that mean there would be no point in Zeon Zeum Deikume proposing his newtype theory, thus never needing to be assassinated by the Zabis, and the One Year War never happening in the first place?
Never been hidden? Well, just from that last clause will probably lead to a bunch of overly ambitious demagogues, populists, warlords and other interesting types of characters proclaiming they are a breed of "space-adapted human" and thus the government must involve them in the administration of the Federation.
Questions how strong is the armor of the Iron Blooded Orphans Mobile Suits against beam weapons are they beamproof or they just have high tolerance against beam weapons? In addition, what would be you top Gundam battles you would want to participate including the faction you ended up fighting for, and the Mobile Suit you choose for the battle?
Nanolaminate is incredibly strong against beam weaponry, the Shiden, a grunt unit was able to tank a direct from a Mobile Armor's beam cannon. The armor isn't completely beam-proof as the Shiden's internals were nearly fried and likely couldn't take a second hit, the heat from repeated blasts would reduce the effectiveness of nanolaminate to the point the armor wouldn't work as intended. The strength does depend on the quality of armor on the MS as Barbatos blocked a hit with its arm with minimal if any damage.
Sorry to sound annoying but i would like to ask which armor would you recommend to use in a Mobile Suit the Nanolaminate armor or the armor of Akasutki
@@marioangelini1860 If you have enough power the Akatsuki's armor can defect the beams back at the attacker. If not nanolaminate would still be good in the same scenarios.
As a continuation on the question about how one becomes a newtype. What about characters who as far as lore goes aren't newtypes nor cyber newtypes but by their actions show to possess a bit of newtype characteristics? Wouldn't that hint more towards a genetic component? My main examples are Mirai and Dozzle Zabi. Mirai shows a much highlighted level of perception throughout 0079 and has some flashes of her own later in the series. She doesn't seem capable to project thought though just receive them. Dozzle on the other hand can't quite perceive, but he can project his pressure in a way similar (or perhaps even more intense) to Haman Karn, as shown in his last stand at Solomon. Both have kids who are also most certainly newtypes (and quite strong ones at that). To me that points towards the belief that Newtype come from genetics, with space being just a way to make those skills more apparent. In such case cybernewtypes would probably be created by taking someone with characteristics like Mirai and strengthening them via all that experimentation.
So part question of the week part development history how many Gunpla's in the Divers and Spin off material are based on the Strike Gundam? It feels like every time I turn around there's another one. Can hardly look at the Strike's development page without seeing a million different customs listed as "Developed From".
i think to become a first genration newtype in UC you most spend a certain of time in space from a young age and then if your parent is a newtype then it does not matter where you born because you have new type dna. in gundam x i think it was just a random mutation
I have something to say regarding the First Generation GAT-X Gundam as I’ve noticed the pattern that the last 2 digits in the model number as are their unit number which lead me with 2 questions. 1. Why did Buster and Aegis both have the same unit number?(The unit 3) 2. What happens to the 3 missing units?(The unit 1, unit 4 and unit 6) Is it possible that they were the later 3 Second Generation Gundam(Raider, Calamity and Forbidden) that was part of the First Generation project but was write off due to numbers of flaws before the development was complete.
1. the Buster is built on the general purpose 100-frame, Aegis on transformable 300-frame. Different frames probably used different sequences. Hell, do we even know if the last digits are even sequential? They might just pick a a random number and assign it to an unit. Good way to obfuscate the scale and progress of any development. 2.Maybe they were prototypes that werent even completed, maybe they were just simulations never built at all, maybe they failed and dismantled, or any of the reasons RL weapon developments also having missing numbers. The second gens were from a later project, not connected to the Morgenröte collboration. Maybe some inspirations were taken, but nothing more substantial
I still have a question what happened to kamille during chars rebellion and what would have happened if he fought alongside amuro against char I feel like this can be a good video like your what would happen if amuro got the gundam alex
even right now, we have Psychics, those that can see ghosts, or are closer to the spiritual world, i think being free from gravity amplifies that. Rita i think belongs to that, and so does Lalah Sune. those that can see visions. i think this is alos how they knew that trauma dumping might produce cyber newtypes.
cyber newtype is kind of iffy, in some case it just a normal old type go full super solider program to hone their entire body and reflection as we can see in MGSV JR
Is it possible that minovsky particles had an effect on new types possibly causing them new types were shown to have an ability to control minovsky particles. New types didn't show up until after these particles were put into full use in space
and also please argue against us if it doesn't feel right to you but this is how I feel new tops are I still believe they're psychics put on Earth there's like your abilities are limited to the space in which they live which is on the Earth but when they move to space space is almost infinite and big and wide so there's a lot of room so becoming a new type allows your brain to in your spare powers to become bigger because of the space you live in think of it as a snake or most reptiles if they live in a small container they don't grow or Grove really slow but if you take him outside to nature they will grow exponentially faster and bigger
So how are Beam Rifles powered? The Gundam’s beam rifle has 16 shots, is that power coming from the suit, the rifle. A little bit of both? When watching the anime, it sounds like the Gundam is able to keep firing beam rifles as long as the rifles are charged, but then what does the Gundam need to have to make it be able to shoot them??
The very basic version is that the beam rifle holds the minovsky particles and plasma that are used in the beam itself, and the Gundam hold the reactor which supplies the power generation. The reactor supplies electricity and power directly to the beam rifle through the hand plugs, which is the catalyst for the reaction to convert the held particles from inert to active.
Yesn't
Love ur vids Kakarot hope we see your picks for top 5 best and worst villains lists in Gundam someday. Great vid as always
I hope they're all discussion worthy ^w^
1) This one is from the manga Johnny Ridden no Kikan.
Qotw: What would have happened if the Federation invented mobile suits before Zeon?
Agreed because when Char first saw the RX-78 take a Zaku out with a beam gun it was more the power that it had such as escaping one shoting a mobile suit and Char said, "it would need a beam cannon as big as a battleship's" so the tech was there the Federation just got it more compact first.
cant wait for the arc where kakarot steals the yokohama base gundam and becomes a newtype
The fact the Zaku bazooka isn’t just called a Bazaku is a crime
As someone who played Ecco the Dolphan....yes. They are absolutely capable of interstellar travel......
Ecco the Dolphin? Now that's a name a I haven't heard in long time

Regarding the newtype question, at least in Gundam X, it is implied that the thing we call newtypes are little more than random mutants that just so happen to be similar to each other.
I always preferred the AW theory of Newtypes. Just individuals with unique strengths who are taken advantage of by the powers that be.
One thing I noticed when i was watching encounter in space in theater was that when lalah was using the elmeth it was making the la la noise via the psycommu which can only be heard by newtype or soon to be newtype
What caught my eye was that general revil was able to sense it but he wrote it off as a headache caused by stress from managing the war
We can assume that general revil is also a born earthnoid and made multiple trip between earth and space so either at some point he did become a newtype or was a late bloomer even at old age
Which mean anyone can be a newtype whether they're young or old
He's also listed as a NT in at least some of the G Generation games. Only level 1 but still a NT.
im guessing the recovered beam rifles helped in refining Zeon's current MS sized beam rifle tech... maybe like how to control the heating issues or power control ... but outside that, I think Zeon would have reached the Gelgoog rifle on their own.
Those also had a hard time holding their charge without passive heat.
Werent newtypes just a freak mutation that vanished after some time ?
@@AB-ln2py Only in X. So far there's no case in UC that newtype revert back into oldtype like Jamil and Lancerow in X.
Even if Zeon got the Gundams beam rifle because Amuro would toss some and we dont see it getting recovered in the episode the Federation was steamrolling Zeon in late December.
As for the dolphin being a new type, I can understand cause living in the ocean is another type of environment that could probably be the reason why it advanced with a six sense that’s my theory it could probably happen to humans too
Deep Sea and Outer Space might as well be the same thing, when it comes to mecha, often the same parts are used for both environments.
Regarding the beam rifle:
Space is big.
Spoilers below:
We know that Newtypes apparently are able to ‘sense’ the future thanks to being able to speak with the souls of the departed, and when a Newtypes is hooked to some Psycho frame tech they are able to do physics-defying feats from causing reaction-less movement as seen in Axis Shock & the Unicorn grapple.
Question of the week: how strong does a Minovsky reactor need to be in order to properly generate I field?
Honestly... my theory for newtypes is minovsky particle pollution.
Not a bad idea
I always found it suspicious that their brain waves operate at one of the few frequencies that aren't blocked by minovsky particles, a deeper relationship would explain it.
It's better than Kojima particle pollution.
DIG IT!*
and don't forget to raise your pinky when you do it
A question for a future Q&A,
Did the Apsalus led to the development of the Big Zam or did they have separate development histories?
Thanks for answering the question.
I think you gave Generational tech a new fear, Dolphin newtypes.
The sheer disrespect Amuro gave those zaku pilots at 1:30 🤣
Some other info regarding the origins of Zeon's beam weaponry development can possibly be shown in two mangas.
Remember...Yazan was undergoing a New type awakening and basically said "I ain't got time for that "
I always thought that Newtype is something that can awakened in just about everyone regardless of living on earth or space.
What about Lalah Sune? She was a Newtype before even going to space.
For the most consistent way to become a New type is to get Slapped by Bright Noa.
It only happened with Amuro though unless there was someone else
@@BeyondDaX Hathaway Noa?
@@BeyondDaX Kamille even got "Bright Punch!"
5:11 Yazan seemed to be about to awaken and actively rejected it.
Basically, if someone can survive the enhancements, it makes the leap to becoming a Newtype easier, but the proper awakening isn't automatic.
implying cybers had multiple induced traumatic experience to "awake" their abilities?
"Oh? You are evolving into a Newtype!"
"Absolutely not!"
*Spams B button
This is really a question to ask in ANY Gundam Series. There a ton of weapons discarded in many series. BUT My question would be how effective are aiming systems in mobile suits. Like are they 100% accurate or 90% accurate, leaving some percentage to be missed?
I'd assume that it was a mix. It was up to the pilot, but the tech aided with certain variables. Like a pseudo zero system.
Doesn't UC have minovsky particle interference hindering computer aiming?
@@kanrakucheese Minovsky particle only block radiowaves, not computer and other machines. They still can use optical, IR or laser aiming

@@underthemountain0 yeah yazan probably just shrugged it.
Finally. The real questions.

I'm gonna put this episode on a shrine or something. 😆
Who was chars indian gf lala i think she was a new type before ever going to space
What is the strongest pilot with the worst Gundam (based on statistics) and what is the wrost gundam pilot with the best Gundam (based on statistics) and this discussion should definitely include the Manga
Wouldn't the worst Gundam based on statistics be the original or Ground Type?
Minovsky particle.
Let's not forget that the only "Perfected Newtype", Banagher Links, started out as a Cyber-Newtype.
When was Banagher confirmed a perfected newtype? I mean actions say louder but written being confirmed is way better in these.
Was he confirmed to have started out as a Cyber Newtype?
@gerogyzurkov2259 It's implied when Rhidde asks if that's what Banagher has become when the Luminous Crystal Body Unicorn Gundam flys off to intercept the incoming Federal forces at the end of the 7th episode of Unicorn.
@darkhorse744 There are a couple scenes where we see him flashing back to being strapped in a chair with some sort of device over the eye he always covers when he's tired/injured/using his powers, I interpret that as him being some sort of Cyber-Newtype.
@lorzon Why?
Why not interpret it as simply them trying to awaken latent Newtype ability?
He's far too mentally stable compared to most Cyber Newtypes.
Id guess amuros beam rifes were set up with self destruction system. So they could send out a signal and it would blow up to keep it out of zeon hands
AE was heavily involved in R&D on both sides, no need to collect discarded equipment when Anaheim will just..do what they did for the other side for your side if you pay.
Well, Crossbone *did* have Harrison get bodied by Space Chimps 2 Zartog's Revenge on DVD, so I wanna say "yes, but it took a long while to get there"

So, by all means... Zeon is still evil! Just have to add more layers of evil!
The newtype thing is intresting i think it depends on the person and the situation 🤔 as well as other factors the thing to consider as well there are many newtypes unknown in the flannagan institute from oyw so its really hard to define to potential or what make someone a newtype like some have enhanced piloting skills like Alma you have the judau ashtas who has like psycho abilities
You have some like kou uraki and then you have amuro char who are a mix banagher riddhe the insanely overpowered to the point theyre power is feared you have the other guy in the nt but hey he really didnt accomplish much its some sort of spacial awarness mixed with psycho abilities
Depending on which gundam
If Turn-A
Definitely will changes a lot into paradox universe since Turn-A supposedly UC in far far future
i think i always interpreted the dawn of newtypes as something that was inevitable as an evolution of humans but that was accelerated by space travel, by the radical change of environment as stated. it's not inherent in *all* humans necessarily, but as generations go on it will disseminate through the human population until most if not all humans have some level of newtype ability, like any evolutionary trait, and like what was seemingly zeon zum deikun's vision. so in theory this trait would become awakened in some earthnoids but more often in spacenoids
When did Lalah first show signs of being a newtype? Wasn't it while she was still on Earth ?
Yeah, pretty sure she was born on Earth. I cannot remember if Char (in Origin) brought her to the Flanigan institute right after bringing her to space, or that she was recognized later on and Char just brought her along because Char has been a groomer from day one.
Space puts evolutionary pressure on people to develop ESP because of the 360º environment making vision inadequate. Creatures that live in the sea have a similar environment and so would make similar adaptation.
I wonder if gene keep doing his recon mission, probably amuro will not become gundam pilot. And char can capture all 3 prototype suit
My guess for new type creation is just the time lived in space and a catalyst for the need for those powers. Amuro was born on earth after all. We see his home when they land on earth.
I wonder when beam technology was introduced in the UC.
Repeating question here: have you had a video on Zeta development and where did it go, if so?
Questions: During your video of Sinanju development history, you mentioned Sinanju Stein almost a Gundam type. My question is what would consider a Gundam type? Is it based on the performance, the look with two eyes and V-fin? Are there more MS examples of almost a Gundam?
One more question, has Zeon ever created MS that can match equally with the Gundam performance wise during the OYW?
I think the Gelgoog is supposed to be equal to the Gundam performance wise. Obviously the Gundam has better armor but other than that they should be about the same.
"One more question, has Zeon ever created MS that can match equally with the Gundam performance wise during the OYW?"
Yes, the Gelgoog.
@mohamadsufihaziq1692
What's counts as a gundam depends on the series.
Gato being an oldtype, should have ditched Zeon for other space powers
I wish we would get a modern version of the OG gundam anime
Did Lala ever go to space before becoming a new type?
The last time I was this early the Federation was still using Stolen Zakus
Bro I just 3rd turn in ghirens greed I got just got the plans for the zaku2C talk about early.
After watching Gundam The Origin, Zieg Zeon and give me a Gouf when I get to space
Sooo, in all technicalities, space is just new australia ?
I have something to say regarding the First Generation GAT-X Gundam as I’ve noticed the pattern that the last 2 digits in the model number as are their unit number which lead me with 2 questions.
1. Why did Buster and Aegis both have the same unit number?(The unit 3)
2. What happens to the 3 missing units?(The unit 1, unit 4 and unit 6)
Is it possible that they were the later 3 Second Generation Gundam(Raider, Calamity and Forbidden) that was part of the First Generation project but was write off due to numbers of flaws before the development was complete.
1. the Buster is built on the general purpose 100-frame, Aegis on transformable 300-frame.
I still have a question what happened to kamille during chars rebellion and what would have happened if he fought alongside amuro against char I feel like this can be a good video like your what would happen if amuro got the gundam alex
he fighting alongside amuro in UC engage now :p
even right now, we have Psychics, those that can see ghosts, or are closer to the spiritual world, i think being free from gravity amplifies that.
Justice for the dolphins in gundam x
and also please argue against us if it doesn't feel right to you but this is how I feel new tops are I still believe they're psychics put on Earth there's like your abilities are limited to the space in which they live which is on the Earth but when they move to space space is almost infinite and big and wide so there's a lot of room so becoming a new type allows your brain to in your spare powers to become bigger because of the space you live in think of it as a snake or most reptiles if they live in a small container they don't grow or Grove really slow but if you take him outside to nature they will grow exponentially faster and bigger
@ thanks for the expansion👍
What about those pilot with high reaction? Are theyre considered as a new type?
