I really like the idea of suede covering the outsole. I really like the flick of a tall toe box where the suede makes a good amount of contact with the griptape. Sounds like that's just not the right kind of suede for skateboarding
I would cut off the stupid hanging threads it looks stupid but overall they rly look dope. As you said they remind me more of a Puig shoe than Gazelle. I like the original version as well but fkn hell 330$ is way to much :D
The Gazelle ADV Skate Shoe is a vulc - exact same outsole construction as the 3MC and the Busenitz VULC. The Average Joe Gazelles are modelled on the OG deadstock Gazelles which are a cupsole - these are not skate shoes - one of the main reasons we skated them in the early 1990s is that they were not fashionable anymore like they were in the 80s, and were therefore cheap AF, being offloaded in discount sneaker stores.

I can’t help but think Yohji took inspiration from Rick with the loose threads. Their worlds sort of collide and while I am sure it isn’t the case, to me these are kind of uninspired. Sick pair nevertheless!
Adidas is dumb. They released the gazelle without loose threads for $300 and than they released the gazelle with loose threads for $330. The gazelle with loose threads should cost $100. They are a incomplete shoe
I don’t know why they changed the style with loose threads sticking out of the side that will get dirty in a bicycle crank and possibly stuck in a bicycle crank so you can bust your ass
