I saw another moc for keeping the doors open but it takes a lot of space behind the doors. This moc with friction pin is so much better as it doesn't change the original design. Thank you !
Same, I will say I'm honestly surprised they didn't just decide to use friction pins in the first place as surely they would've noticed this as an issue in the design process, right? It's a great set but the door hinge issue genuinely confuses me when resolving it was as simple as swapping the frictionless technic pins for friction pins, something that could've taken no longer than a few minutes to do.
@@clockwork3494 This piece hasn't been used since the 80s. Lego would have to bring it back again to include it. Not saying I agree with them and think this was good enough. It wasn't. The door shouldn't be falling down. But that's probably their reason why they didn't include it. It's like the GWP 1989 Batmobile set. It was supposed to have black barrels on the side but because black ones had only been made for one set in the 80s, they did it in grey. It looked wrong. Then just a few months later they released Pirates of Barracuda Bay with black barrels and they've included it in several sets since.
@@HappyDude1 I just built the set and while your attention to detail is excellent, the most annoying part is those doors. Such a logical and easy fix you made, have already made that too.
Thank you dude! I just got the set and was so disappointed that it can't hold the doors open. It's only one piece! Lego what the heck, 200$ lego set and you are so cheap to include a piece that cost you one cent and it will fix the set. Anyway thank you so much I ordered the part
I did the same thing with the door sills except I used a black strip instead of a grey one since the DeLorean has black weather stripping around the windows. I also replaced the grey one at the top of the window with a black strip too. It looks perfect! Do you still have your custom bricks available? The eBay links above don't work anymore.
One small part for doors. Dear Lego... was it so hard? Actually you can fix doors easily without any additional parts. Just cut off small peace of packing plastic bag and wrap pin with it.
When I go to the link provided it says I need lego part 2780 and when I looked at sets with part 2780 in it the delorean has 22 of them. When I tried replacing pins the doors with friction pin 2780, door still won't stay open. Is the "special friction pin" a different part number than 2780? Thanks
So why dnt u tell everyone the part number of the pin u are using cos the one in ur link is the same that comes with the kit. I seen someone else comment 4459 is the number is this correct
All the links are in the description under the video

yes i also did not wanted to change the design because the panel with custom led bricks i made is there now :)

I know
And lego is getting even more expensive now
The reason they couldn't use that piece is because it has been retired for 34 years
@@Pk-glitch I am sure they could've find a solution for it.
@@asafkatan9974 You're probably right, I was just saying the solution wouldn't be that simple. You have a valid argument.
@Pk-glitch
They can always remake it? Or something newer and better

It should yes thats why i made the video
