I agree with you, just eat real food, the best quality you can afford..... don't eat highly processed food and junk from the fast food places...... learn to enjoy real food, our bodies were designed to eat this way
To be fair, the amount of UPF we have now didn't exist 50-100 years ago. We didn't have to think much about the food in the grocery stores, because they all sold real food, and you could probably go around the grocery store blind folded and still pick out something nutritious. It's not really surprising most people are so confused about nutrition, because UPF isn't food, but we're constantly bombarded with it. And your grocery haul is mostly real food, so you do put a lot of thought into what you eat, but it's second nature to you now. Just playing devils advocate 😁
I totally agree with what you said, nutrition is complicated and yeah there's so much stuff in the grocery stores now in a huge majority of what they sell is not food its food like products , we do have to think about food if we want to make the right choices, sometimes we do have to obsess over it a little but it's kind of like skin care , for me skincare is very overwhelming and confusing but I still have to put thought into it or else I'll choose the wrong skin care products Not to compare food and skin care but in some ways they are similar
I think understanding what is supportive for you and not is less complicated than we think though, right? Like I didn't need to overly think about my grocery store shopping cause I was stumped as to if powdered donuts was a supportive breakfast or not. So if you are just in general choosing Whole Foods to make real meals with-- yogurt, eggs, meat, very, fruit, bread, rice, potatoes-- then it's not too much to think about :)
I know this feeling, I've done it for 5 years. When hclfrv for 4 years and ended up with stage 4 hodgkins lymphoma. And now I'm scared to eat anything 😫
For me it was orthorexia that made everything so complicated , falling down the rabbit hole of low carb, anti-carb carb hate community What's the thing that got me the most in trouble , biggest mistake I ever made was being afraid of carbs and eating low carb, I'm doing better now I'm not afraid of carbs on a see how necessary and important they are in my diet but I'm Sad that those anti-carb people are still out there spreading orthorexia
So glad to hear you've started adding in more carbs! Damn, yes it sucks that carbs were so demonized over the years when they in reality are so essential to our wellbeing!
@flowwithchlo I fell prey to the low carb zero carb nonsense back in 2018 and I can't believe to this day all these years later there are still people out there saying "carbs are not essential". So if carbs are not essential does that mean vitamins minerals and electrolytes are not essential? LOL Fiber is good too carbs are delicious People who don't eat carbs I wish they would stop talking nonsense about carbs making people scared to eat carbs like some of these Anti carb TH-camrs out here
