- Food harding/ hiding is a common ED behavior that's due to energy debt.
I used to hoard food ALL of the time and hide the food that I wanted to eat cause I couldn't have anyone else eat "my food".

No need to be ashamed, but it's good to understand why it is happening!
I have the food hiding issue since I am scared of binge eating it, I will hide it in weird spots in my house to try and prevent me from eating it but I still end up eating it.
I am trying to let go of the behaviour of hoarding....its so so difficult
Omg, I used to hoard fruit and bananas so that the CHILDREN of the family I was sharing a community with wouldn't eat them before I could. I used to get stressed if people would take an extra portion of food at dinner and think they were being greedy: ("what if I want some more of this later and it's the only food I can eat?"). I was so underweight, anxious, depleted.
I'm glad you can look back and see the craziness of it all. I have done very similar things in the past and am shocked how I, an educated human being, could have acted that way. We live and we learn.
I experienced the “hoarding” mentality with binging. I would have food in the house that I loved and couldn’t bring myself to keep it around so I would have it all in one sitting. Is there any way to combat this mentality?
Yes there for sure is a way to combat it but its hard to put into a couple sentences because in reality we have to look at your whole narrative around food and such to figure out where theres tension and distrust with food.
Strangely enough, I hoard meat after quitting veganism. I always need to know I have a good stash of meat available in the fridge/freezer.
Doesn't surprise me, your body didn't have it for a while and now is probs gonna be a little obsessed with eating meat for a while.
