It'd be hilarious if he encountered a bug while playing and was just like, "Oops... didn't catch that one... uh, sorry folks, it's gonna be another slight delay. See you in 2024?"
I am becoming a father this year. This will be the first game I play with my child, even if they have to sit in my lap as I play 😂 I CANNOT wait for this. BOTW was my favorite game of all time.
there REALLY needs to be a loftwing in this game. it would be such a missed opportunity to not be able to just flat out fly around on one. even if its a late game unlock.
This game feels like the original vision of Skyward Sword, combined with the advancements in freeform gameplay through BOTW’s open world and ground-breaking physics engine. In other words, it could very well be Aonuma’s magnum opus. I’m going all in with a Switch OLED and restocked Zelda amiibo. It’s a good time to be a Nintendo fan.

Hey Arlo, there's no way Nintendo is going to spoil this game. This was literally the first glimpse of gameplay we've seen, and there is TONS more! So looks like we'll all being going into the game blind.
The trailers have revealed a decent amount and clips of gameplay. Spoilers are subjective and I'd definitely say they revealed too much for some, sometimes people don't want to know hardly anything so everything is a surprise and their own discovery.
You know what is really interesting about the Ascend ability? It makes going down the hard part! In BotW, going up was hard. You had to climb up using stamina, but once you were at the top, you could just glide down. Now, when you explore a cave, you have to work your way down methodically, but you can Ascend back up with ease!
@@thecrow_4 they’re specifically talking about the possibility of going into a cave system. You could easily make your way up with ascend but in caves finding the correct path down becomes the challenge
I feel like this will have the Super Mario Maker 2 style Sequelitus. Where the increased number of features could break the game in bold, and fascinating new ways.
I thought of you as soon as they revealed the fuse ability xD I agreed with you that botw felt like it was built with a crafting system in mind that was cut at the last second, it's so nice to finally have the missing puzzle piece😆😆😆 I can't wait to make my own weapons!!!
Just like BotW, this game looks like it’s gonna be an absolute joy to just play in. They found even more genius ways to open up the world to our imaginations
It's funny: Arlo went "Who's that?" and seems to have been talking about the Stable, but him doing that actually made me stop and notice that there's a little Korok with a traveling pack on the road. Neat.
Now I do have an idea for that fuse mechanic. If enough items like logs are had, and enough fans. You possibly create something akin to star destroyer. Though with the battery draining and recharging when off, you'll likely have to keep it afloat via balloons in the meantime.
Arlo saying 'you can craft your own arrows' made me rewatch the Crafting section of his big BOTW review. Also, again, his reaction to the Fuse mechanic: What?!
I only watch gameplay reveal trailers if a TH-camr I watch reacts to it or I’m super invested in it. I’m glad you covered this. Now I get to watch it twice.
From the intro and self targeted contempt at himself for watching this, I'm convinced Arlo is my spirit animal... whatever animal a blue Elmo puppet is...
I have watched three seperate people see this trailer, and every one of them, plus Arlo, plus All Of Social Media saw the arrow fusion and thought MEAT ARROW. Humanity unites...
This gameplay reveal was soooo good and the new features they added are so fascinating and exciting that they were able to make the ability to reverse the time of anything look underwhelming, that's an achievement in and of itself for the game devs imo
This was by far, the perfect gameplay reveal for TOTK. It didn't show off much of the world, story, and characters... Good! But it did show a bunch of new systems, and justifies itself as a sequel. Perfect!
It's so funny seeing other people watch this and them saying "No! Don't end it there, show us more!" where Arlo clearly doesn't want to watch this for fear of ruining the first-time experience (more understandable imo)
I hope at the end Aonuma is teasing building houses so that WE can rebuild Hyrule. If so this may be my favorite Zelda of all time if you can do that much with the Ultrahand ability (or just building in general). I'm beyond Excited! ❤
Before this I was expecting the map to be changed by all the monsters having completely overrun Hyrule and the towns, now seeing that the stables are intact I don't think that's the case.
Everyone is laughing at the meat arrows....but you can probably use meat arrows to bait enemies to a trap that you build with the fuse mechanic and then blow it the F up from a distance.
Hey Arlo, I just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and I appreciate all the work you put into these videos for us. I think the only thing I’m disappointed about from this was the reused music. I was hoping we’d get new or remixed/redone versions of things like the stable theme and maybe just a new tone for the cold weather alert. Especially if all the previous towns and cities are the same it’d kinda feel weird to me
Where are you taking this info from? Castle Town, for example was rebuilt. I presume the other towns will evolve too. We need to wait and see the changes.
@@kyubeyz_7062 I know. But you said the towns are the same, when they are not. I am sure we will see changes to the music too. We need to wait a little more.
I love how Arlo had the same idea I did about merging the arrow with meat. I have been obsessed with "meat arrows" ever since I saw the original video haha
This is just asset swap breathe of the wild with sky island! Yawn and boring! Majora's mask and ocarina of Time are better games and more original sequels to each other than this reused asset dlc of breathe of the wild!
@@DANCERcow You're probably right, but I think we should let people go into it and decide for themselves. I'm still a WindWaker freak and haven't even played BotW, but I understand the excitement of people wanting to play a sequel of BotW as it sold really well.
I only clicked on the video cuz I want to support Arlo. I won't EVER watch this direct OR his reaction as I really want to play the game completely blind, but I'll make sure to go back to this video for sure when I'll have my hands on the game!!! :)
The most interesting thing for me is that up on the dpad is "apple"... Does this mean healing foods are assigned to a button rather than having to pause and go into the menu each time?
Any doubts I had going into this game (which were few to be granted) were all knocked away by Fuse in one fell swoop. I can't even begin to imagine how it's gonna get used throughout the game.
They only showed combat application but some fusions absolutely have to have other uses. Just spit balling here but shield surfing was very under utilized in BoTW, but now what happens when I try to shield surf on a shield that has something like Keese wings fused to it? Maybe that would let you briefly hover over hazardous terrain instead of trying to get high enough to glide over it. What if I'm hunting for materials? Can an arrow with food attached to it attract animals? If I attach something that glows to my sword or shield will those items now function as a kind of flashlight instead of having to carry a torch? There's just SOOO much this system could do.
@@Confron7a7ion7 ya i can just imagine it... steak + arrow= wolf lure and then you fuse the next arrow with something that can hit a wide area to farm lots of steak from wolves... or shield + carrot= horse magnet... 2 handed flaming sword + spear= kill everything with fire from another zipcode
@@Confron7a7ion7 stuff I’ve seen and came up with: - Shield surfing on ice chu jelly to slide across water - Shield surfing with a puff shroom or something similar for an initial vertical boost like Revali’s gale - Sharp items like flint on shields to do damage on parry - Fusing an explosive barrel to a weapon and using it as a throwing weapon(especially boomerangs) In combat or not, there’s a ton of potential to this new mechanic and it’ll be awesome to see what they do with it in game.
It depends on whether you’re worried about being spoiled on the game’s mechanics or not, outside of showcasing the game’s rune equivalents the only new thing shown was a brand new enemy type if I recall.
It’s a good initial reveal, because Aonuma feeds you just enough information about the new mechanics to let your imagination run wild about the possibilities
They didn't talk about it in the video, up there is an apple symbol tied to up on the d-pad. Hopefully we are looking at a flask type healing system that doesn't allow you to eat an entire buffet in a split second.
Man, I don't want to be a downer. But if this is most of the new stuff after 6 years I'm going to be pretty darn disappointed. Here's to hoping there is some more permanent item progression, dungeons/temple variety, and better storyline..
I highly doubt they'd show most of the new stuff here. I'm guessing the abilities shown off are obtained within the tutorial area of the game, just like the runes were in botw. Furthermore, the island that they show link doing most of this stuff on appears to be the same one (at least on a second watch-through, haven't seen any proper analysis yet) as extensively shown in the trailers. This means the area shown off could very well be the main tutorial area. The one thing that is a bit of a let-down is that it appears there's no underwater exploration, as when Link lands in the river at the end he just pops out back on the surface, and Aonuma just swims him back to shore just like BotW.
Mechanically, I'm confident the game will be incredible and even better than botw. That's not really what I needed from the trailer though. I was hoping what we'd seen of hyrule would have more drastic changes that made them new, and instead Im pretty sure I can already tell exactly which part of the map it was in because it's that similar. The sky islands are cool, but the other areas of big hyrule need some more drastic things to explore and interact with. Im sure they don't wanna spoil the major elements and locales, but right now it just feels like its still underwhelming on that front which is a big concern. Still very excited to play it and see how the story hopefully does more than just "beat ganondorf lol", but very concerned that exploration won't be magical anymore.
I'm assuming whatever caused the sky islands to appear will change the landscape in some noticeable way. I'm also hoping for more towns and a more lively world in regards to NPCs... and a lot more enemy types and hopefully tough open world bosses besides lynels. I'm excited from what they've showed alrdy and hoping the enemies are a lot tougher now that we have all of these new abilities
@@doodoobuttah yeah the running theory is they left behind big caverns/caves which I am really hoping is true, but I feel like we probably would've heard about it by now (but if it is a thing I'll be extremely happy). I also really want underwater exploration in some capacity though I doubt we'll get it. Towns I'm not too big on, unless they give us more Terry towns we actually have to develop. As they were I found the other towns and villages nice but ultimately just places to warp to/from. IDK the uncertainty of it all is just the big concern (in tandem with the price hike). I'm sure it WILL justify it, but man... This seemed like a really rough game to try it with since its an asset reuser.
@@darcidious99 fair, always good to keep expectations tempered lol. I'm hopeful, BotW was great but there's always room to improve. Also me personally I would love a hub town that's bustling and lively much like novigrad in the witcher 3 but to be fair it's a vastly different type of game they're going for and the post apocalyptic landscape BotW set up makes me think the quiet exploration of a peaceful natural world is what they're going for. More towns that we need to build up like terrytown would be a great idea though!
that was absolutely the iconic twin mountains, but even when falling down you can see a lot of new structures and things that just werent there before. even if the overall topography doesnt change too much aside from caves and hollows, itll have plenty of explore im sure.
I enjoy how they took the complaint of "weapons break too easy! can't we repair them?" by taking seemingly a year to develop a completely new mechanic that transforms crafting in a big new way.
@@sammyinengland It was a joke that just that single mechanic took a year in itself. Man even basic ass indie games take more than a year to develop, you seriously thought I was that dumb?

I am becoming a father this year. This will be the first game I play with my child, even if they have to sit in my lap as I play 😂 I CANNOT wait for this. BOTW was my favorite game of all time.
Congrats, I’m in the same boat. My kid is due in October though so he/she is going to have to watch me play end game side missions. Lol
@@cristianjimenez3657 also due in October!!! Congratulations!
I’ve got a two year old, so she’s old enough to experience things, this might be the first proper game I play with her
I’m actually getting married the day this game comes out!
@@rootbourne4454 That's going to be the best wedding night ever.
“Let’s dive into this river”

I CACKLED
That Recall tutorial implied that you can use the tailwind backdraft the Dragons give off to fly to the Sky Islands, which is fucking sick
there REALLY needs to be a loftwing in this game. it would be such a missed opportunity to not be able to just flat out fly around on one. even if its a late game unlock.
I wonder if they'll at least do a skin for the glider
Poor Arlo. The sacrifices you make for us are greatly appreciated!
Arlo's reaction to the Fuse ability was pretty funny
My fear of heights is just going off the charts in that fall sequence.
You can hear the pain in Arlo's voice as he watches it
Also Wooden Stick. That is the MOST redundant thing I've ever heard in my life
@@WhatTheHecksRiM ... Is it? A stick isn't necessarily wooden, reed sticks, twine sticks, etc. Not gonna pretend we don't generally hear stick and assume wooden though, it's just not so redundant
@@rojakishibe7113 Very true.

I love how everyone wants to see the MEAT ARROW 😂
I was also trying to put it off to the side but I just wanted to watch it. At least it’s just describing the mechanics we already saw/guessed were gonna be a thing (kinda)
I can imagine a meat arrow being used as a lure. Imagine a piece of meat on an arrow. So the meat wherever the arrow lands and causes any meat eating monster to be lured there. At least, that's my guess
@@suspiciousbird487 oh sweet instead of tossing meat at them i can shoot it to them from far away
The reaction we’ve all been waiting for.
Yes really lol
I didn’t think it was gonna happen. Kinda hoped he would save it for initial impressions, but he would probably get spoiled in a less fun way before release if he didn’t.
@@thevioletbee5879 honestly I’m with you. I didn’t think he would watch it. I’m just always excited when Arlo posts. He gonna be upset for a while I’m sure. I’ve never been the against spoilers type of person. I’ll watch a full game before playing it my self. But if you’re Arlo, that ruins it. I hope he doesn’t watch anything else.
Ascend really supports the whole underground idea to me. They needed an easy way back to the surface
Yeah except the glidder exists, so most of the time the "going down" part isn't that hard
@@thecrow_4 they’re specifically talking about the possibility of going into a cave system. You could easily make your way up with ascend but in caves finding the correct path down becomes the challenge
@@lukecraver7966 Yeah, for that I must agree with you. And if saving Zelda imply going through underground mazes, thats gonna be interesting
I feel like this will have the Super Mario Maker 2 style Sequelitus. Where the increased number of features could break the game in bold, and fascinating new ways.
That's actually to the advantage of Zelda though
Yeah, I wasn’t sure whether to watch it or not either. I finally did and was glad they didn’t reveal too much.
I thought of you as soon as they revealed the fuse ability xD I agreed with you that botw felt like it was built with a crafting system in mind that was cut at the last second, it's so nice to finally have the missing puzzle piece😆😆😆 I can't wait to make my own weapons!!!
This is the first time I've actually been excited for Tears of the Kingdom, because we actually know stuff now (cool stuff).
@8:20 “we made a simplified version of a boat”
Man I’m so hyped for this game. I can’t wait…
Why do you all assume there won’t be a limit to how many items you can fuse? There obviously will be and it’ll probably be less than people think.
@@amysteriousviewer3772 Let me hope.
Yhea no, there's obviously a limit
Arlo saying 'you can craft your own arrows' made me rewatch the Crafting section of his big BOTW review. Also, again, his reaction to the Fuse mechanic: What?!
I only watch gameplay reveal trailers if a TH-camr I watch reacts to it or I’m super invested in it. I’m glad you covered this. Now I get to watch it twice.
From the intro and self targeted contempt at himself for watching this, I'm convinced Arlo is my spirit animal... whatever animal a blue Elmo puppet is...
The Legend of Zelda: Nuts and Bolts
I have watched three seperate people see this trailer, and every one of them, plus Arlo, plus All Of Social Media saw the arrow fusion and thought MEAT ARROW. Humanity unites...
The Zelda community is going to explode cuz the word "Zonai" appeared in this trailer.
This gameplay reveal was soooo good and the new features they added are so fascinating and exciting that they were able to make the ability to reverse the time of anything look underwhelming, that's an achievement in and of itself for the game devs imo
The sequel to Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts looks great.
*link diving off the sky islands*
hope he thanked the bus driver
I have been laughing at the pitchfork fuse for too long.
I was sooo looking forward to your reaction, Arlo! Always a gem!
This was by far, the perfect gameplay reveal for TOTK. It didn't show off much of the world, story, and characters... Good! But it did show a bunch of new systems, and justifies itself as a sequel.
Perfect!
arlo sounds like that step dad at your birthday party that does NOT want to be there and hates the screaming children when u were 8
"I fused a mushroom to my shield"
Really wasn't expecting Zelda Nuts and Bolts, really REALLY wasn't expecting Zelda Gmod.
It's so funny seeing other people watch this and them saying "No! Don't end it there, show us more!" where Arlo clearly doesn't want to watch this for fear of ruining the first-time experience (more understandable imo)
Two videos from Arlo?!? Eeeee I’m so excited for this game 😭
I am in love with Arlo's humour!
"I'm gonna call them Skylands!"
They should've had you in the development team, Arlo 😂
I hope at the end Aonuma is teasing building houses so that WE can rebuild Hyrule. If so this may be my favorite Zelda of all time if you can do that much with the Ultrahand ability (or just building in general). I'm beyond Excited! ❤
I mean, people wanted link's house to be better, so. . .
@@wildogre7079 I want it so bad lol
This was a nice video to see when i got home so late from work!!
yeah i was also struggling to not watch it at first 😭😭
"Fuse it with a LAKE."
Before this I was expecting the map to be changed by all the monsters having completely overrun Hyrule and the towns, now seeing that the stables are intact I don't think that's the case.
In fact it looks like people started to rebuild too, in however long it’s been since the Calamity was ended
The ascend ability looks like it would be great for navigation puzzles in indoor settings.
Everyone is laughing at the meat arrows....but you can probably use meat arrows to bait enemies to a trap that you build with the fuse mechanic and then blow it the F up from a distance.
Or bait predators, like a pack of wolves, into an outpost and take advantage of the chaos Farcry style.
Hey Arlo, I just wanted to tell you that I love your videos and I appreciate all the work you put into these videos for us. I've been watching your channel for a while and to me it feels like you're a super kind, gentle, and passionate person. I guess what I mean to say is just, thank you for being you. Our world is better with you in it and I'm so thankful. 🔵 🎮
I think the only thing I’m disappointed about from this was the reused music. I was hoping we’d get new or remixed/redone versions of things like the stable theme and maybe just a new tone for the cold weather alert. Especially if all the previous towns and cities are the same it’d kinda feel weird to me
it looks like it's a copy paste job for everything tbh
Where are you taking this info from? Castle Town, for example was rebuilt. I presume the other towns will evolve too. We need to wait and see the changes.
@@Oliveiraverde I’m talking about the music and themes
It’s also possible they purposefully showed us something that looked very similar to the original game to not spoil anything.
This new fusing mechanic has me interested
This is just asset swap breathe of the wild with sky island! Yawn and boring! Majora's mask and ocarina of Time are better games and more original sequels to each other than this reused asset dlc of breathe of the wild!
@DANCERcow I love how your talking about majoras mask like it didn't use a ton of assets from ocarina of time. (Not dissing MM)
@@DANCERcow You're probably right, but I think we should let people go into it and decide for themselves. I'm still a WindWaker freak and haven't even played BotW, but I understand the excitement of people wanting to play a sequel of BotW as it sold really well.
Majora's mask didn't though! It was a brand new game and experience!
The shenanigans in this game will be unhinged
So we're all in agreement, this is all what Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Boltz should've been right?
I only clicked on the video cuz I want to support Arlo.
I won't EVER watch this direct OR his reaction as I really want to play the game completely blind, but I'll make sure to go back to this video for sure when I'll have my hands on the game!!! :)
Your audio is always super quiet on your reaction videos, Arlo. Crank it up!
Arlo watching the vehicle crafting: "That is nuts."
Me: "...and bolts?"
The most interesting thing for me is that up on the dpad is "apple"... Does this mean healing foods are assigned to a button rather than having to pause and go into the menu each time?
The apple opens the materials menu.
"by tilting your Wii remote" fucking killed me, that's hilarious
@@Confron7a7ion7 stuff I’ve seen and came up with:
- Shield surfing on ice chu jelly to slide across water
- Shield surfing with a puff shroom or something similar for an initial vertical boost like Revali’s gale
- Sharp items like flint on shields to do damage on parry
- Fusing an explosive barrel to a weapon and using it as a throwing weapon(especially boomerangs)
In combat or not, there’s a ton of potential to this new mechanic and it’ll be awesome to see what they do with it in game.
Holy moly I went into this trailer expecting a lot and I was still blown away.
Right from the start "SPOIL THE WHOLE GAME FOR ME PLEASE" 😂 Arlo is strapped in and ready for the worst 😂🤣😭
Even though I watched the Nintendo release earlier, I had to watch your video because your voice overs always makes me crack up 😂
Ugh I’m not sure if I want to watch this or just wait until it’s out
They just go over some of the new abilities. If you don't wanna know how some of them work, I'd hold off.
You wanna watch it.
My exact problem
They didn't talk about it in the video, up there is an apple symbol tied to up on the d-pad. Hopefully we are looking at a flask type healing system that doesn't allow you to eat an entire buffet in a split second.
It looks absolutely INCREDIBLE 🤯
Considering Arlo's stance, the "FINE!" was hilarious.
Arlo asked for Crafting, and he has Received!
A year? This game has been in development for like 4/5 years
@@sammyinengland It was a joke that just that single mechanic took a year in itself.
