Ever since the first reveal ended with Zelda's Lullaby playing in the same style as the Dragon's theme, I knew the dragons were going to play a bigger role in this game. Don't be worried, something you probably missed is the minimap.
Not only is there a Z co-ordinate, for going up, but I would bet it goes into the negatives too.
There's a few new symbols on the minimap, one of which is caves, we saw a bunch of them up in the sky islands, but realistically we'll be seeing a lot on the ground too.
The surface was all we got in BotW, the surface is massively changed here, the sky is new, and so are the caves, it's basically like Pokemon Gen 2 where they added Gen 1's map as well as the new one.

I really like the new gameplay features and think this is shaping up to be a good game (even though I still hope they give us some permanent weapon options and actual dungeons).
Having said that the visuals are very rough. It's really blurry and the flickering (especially with flora and shadows) is jarring.
It's probably going to be a great sequel heavily handicapped by outdated hardware. I don't know what the chances are for a timely Switch successor but I'm tempted to hold off til Nintendo finally pulls the trigger, ngl.

I think it'd be worth it. This seems to be the only real complaint about current Nintendo games, but their gameplay, art direction, attention to detail, etc should be more than enough to justify it honestly.
The visuals are easily definitely a step above from BOTW given that was released with Wii U in mind. This is Switch native.
