I will cover how to do a cold and dark startup, MCDU programming (FMC) and using autopilot on take-off, climb, cruise, descent, and approach.

I have been using it for a while and i have spoken and worked with the developer when I had issues. An amazing program Just amazing and the developer is level headed and will always help out. Anyway off the subject i wanted to find out how to save flight plans to be loaded into the aircraft. Do you know how this is done? I have so many question your going to hate me lol.
Steven Pow I cannot remember off the top of my head but I believe it's on the first flight plan page. There is a save route button, I think.
In the PERF Page you usually set Flaps 1 not 2, since the A320 will deploy Slats+Flaps automatically when on ground, even on "Flaps" 1 which is usually just the slats :)
I’m sticking with the B737-800 zibo FMC. That looks really confusing, but the FF A320 looks really nice

Opposite for me. Though I can't afford the A320 so sadly I'm stuck with the 737 which I have no idea how to fly lol. Finally just starting to figure out how to get used to the autopilot oh my god it is so different compared to the a320 wow
Just thought I’d let you know. It’s not operation descending. OP DES stands for open decent. It’s not managed. You push the needle for managed decent and pull for open decent.

Great guide! Helped me out so much to get going in the Airbus. A few notes for you! DH/MDA (Decision Height/Minimum Descent Altitude) should be filled out because if you are flying in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) the pilot uses the MDA as the altitude to execute the missed approach if you do not have the airport in sight at the time of crossing the MDA.

Just to let others know, FlightFactor checks your activation of the aircraft during startup procedures, so that's why you get the framerate drops during initial startup.

Edit: never mind I got it figured out, the jar design a320 has a weird thing where, to push into managed mode you have to have a pointer finger on the knob and for open you need a hand on t he knob
I think you forgot to put the engine selector back to the normal posisson after engine startup.

I always loved flying the Just Flight A320 in FS2004, despite its slight quirks. As FS is no longer being developed it's time to change over to X-Plane and FF A320 looks amazing. It's going to cost a fortune :)

Are that airport light default? Are you using reshade?
44:11 You mention about the auto start for the engines on Airbus aircraft or the A320. What you are referring to is called FADEC, Full Authority Digital Engine Control which lets you start the engine without waiting for correct N2/N1 speeds and pressures etc before introducing fuel. This unit looks after everything that is required for smooth operations in all aspects of flight but it is not an Airbus only package. Boeing aircraft also have FADEC on their engines, but it is basically a customer choice as it used to be an optional upgrade. All engines now days come with FADEC built into the EEC (Electronic Engine Control). Just a little FYI for your next Tutorial.
Just bought the toliss 319, and I have NEVER touched anything of an Airbus, so for me then to be able to do 2 legs after just watching 1 tutorial, i mean. thats pretty good

I need your help learning to move around the cockpit. I can’t seem to figure this out. I like the video but can not follow along with your start-up. Thanks.
Use the arrow keys to move left, right, up and down. Use the period and comma to move back and forth. Once you get the view angle you want, to save it press CTRL + NumPadNumber. I usually use 0 for main pilot view out the windscreen, 1 for my FMC, 2 for my overhead panel, 3 for me throttle/center console, 4 for a left view out the left side of the cockpit, 5 for the far overhead panel, 6 for the right view out of the cockpit, etc.
You can do whatever you want. Just make sure Num Lock is on!

What do you mean settings name? Are you referring to what keystroke the slats are under? They are under flaps. Slats are just the front parts of the flaps. Most commerical aircraft the slats come down first and then flaps, use the flaps assignment.

What version of Zibo Mod 738 did you use? I started out with version 3.43 (full) and I was missing a lot of important information on the instrument panel, like the heading, and the attitude indicator I got was not the same as the one in your video. I deleted 3.43 then downloaded and installed version 3.40 (full again) and the same thing happened. I am aware that you're supposed to follow the install instructions to avoid any issues, which I did, but that didn't work.
i have a problem with my plane.
when i setup a flight, the NAV says something like HDG NOT AVAILABLE and when i click on the autopilot buttons they dont do anything.

Sorry to keep hitting you up with questions, I’ve had to just then re do the tutorial. Why does this keep happening??? I’ve saved my configuration for keys and joystick as I’m regularly having to change them. It’s like the game doesn’t save anything. I just moved it then from my Acer C drive to now on my desktop.

Airbus uses auto ILS, meaning it will set ILS frequncy and heading automatically from nav data.
the APU doesnt work for me... says gen 1 and gen 2 are off but they are on and says that the apu is off aswell.. please help

you need to activate your serial number for the plane inside the MCDU. Put in your serial number and reload the plane. Then APU will work properly.
@@edbaker7801 - what serial number is that? I've just purchased this aircraft and I can't see any serial number. I've got a purchase order number, but no serial number I don't think. Would that be the reason why I can't start the engines? I've been trying to start the engines using the simple default method of 'CTRL-SHIFT-E'. The engines run up for a few seconds, but then die off and everything is quiet again! Also, there are no livery colours on the aircraft - just a plane white aircraft. I'm sure I installed the aircraft correctly.
i recently bought the ffa320, but it has all the old a320 sounds like the altitude callouts and autopilot disconnect noise. it also displays 'ILS' as just 'I' on the PFD and in the MCDU. How do i update this?
There is probably an updater in the aircraft folder.

Nose Wheel Steering Disengaged. When being pushed back the ground crew put a pin in your front gear to prevent it from moving, they remove it after they disconnect. It's why the are holding up their hands on the right or left when they stop, showing you they have the pin in their hands.

You can't hear the PTU in the cockpit just like in real life
You say the aircraft will not descend if we dont push a button but you dont show us what button that is. Which one is it?

Hi. I have a problem with irs. I have done everything as you and when i go to init page and insert from/to i dont see ALIGN IRS but INIT IRS. Could someone help me? Otherwise i wasted 90$ thank you
INIT IRS means initializing IRS. Hit that. If it asks for coordinates then you need to pull the coordinates from either the left or right GPS unit and plug those coordinates into those boxes. However it has been a little while since I flew the a320.

Awesome tutorial. One question: How do you setup all those different views? They look like they are really handy, I'm always moving around with mouse and arrow keys, but those shortcuts to the different panels are really nice.

@@gogolak3365 Views can be set through X-Plane 11 itself, no need for a plugin etc. You can set 9 views (one for each number of the numpad). To do so, move to the required location in the aircraft using the mouse/","/"."/"+"/"-" and then press Ctrl + the numpad number you require. Then, the next time you want to go to that view, just press the number you just set. If the numpad isn't good for your setup, you can reassign the command for the views through the options page under keyboard

reinstalled and updated ff a320 but can't turn on batteries. mouse doesn't turn into fist over bats. nothing happens when i click on bat 1 and 2. no other buttons work. fps is low. help would be great.
Exit X-Plane and restart it. I've found that happens after an initial install.

As you’re applying thrust during takeoff, are you going to halfway and does the auto thrust icon below autopilot engage automatically or did you set it manually?? Just when I take off I don’t get the green light turning on...
It's all about the clicks. The third click should on the throttle should be FLEX, which means its Take Off with FLEX temperature calculated. Some take offs require T/O. Halfway on the throttle is just about where the FLEX is.

How do you set custom views ? Please help.
A simple question - is it possible to do an easy engine start with this aircraft using X-Plane 11's 'CTRL - SHIFT - E' on the keyboard as with the Laminar default aircraft? I've just downloaded and installed this A320 and that simple procedure won't start the engines. At least they start to run up initially, but after a few seconds, the engine noise dies away and everything is dark and silent.
Also, opening up the sim with the start engine box ticked also doesn't work either.
The start with engines on should work. If it's not, well, I would suggest learning to to properly start the aircraft.
@@MicahMesser - But there's other things wrong as well, for example, there is no colour airline livery on the external skin of the aircraft. It's just plane white with no markings, so I don't think that that is correct. Should the default skin be that of Lufthansa? I've contacted Aerosoft to see if they have any idea what's wrong.

Also, according to 'CptCanada' here on TH-cam, you can't start the engines using Ctrl/Shift/E or starting with the engines running option at load up. Those won't work he says (unlike the default aircraft). The only way to start is manually.

@@tenvelli the 777 isn't great rn. It needs updated to modern standards really quite badly. Hopefully FligutFactor get on it soon, before MSF2020 kills Xplanes aircraft development.
What dos V/DEV mean when you sometimes approach a runnway???
And how do you get upp the (rat man on) if you pressed the button by mistake???
I assume V/DEV means vertical deviation, meaning you have deviated from the correct glidslope. And I think the RAT can not be put in again while in flight, probably can only be reset by groundcrew. These are just assumptions though.
RAT can be resetted by ground crew only.

Like the switches or the actual lights? Check any bindings you have with a yoke, throttle quadrant, etc.

You have to fix one of the file things. you should be able to find a forum to help you do it

If you are doing a cold and dark startup and using the MCDU, unfortunately no. However, when you load up the aircraft you can start with engines running to remove all the cold and dark steps.

@@inactive3606 If you just enter your arrival airport and your departure airport you will only be flying direct and I am not sure 100% if that will work. However, if you enter the SIDs and STARs I am sure that would work.

영화쟁이 nope you cant it´s only for x-plane. But prepar3d has an even better a320. Search for a320x by flight sim labs. It costs more than this but it´s worth it.

How do you get the plane to follow your flight plan on the mcdu
You have to set your ZFW/CG into the MCDU. You get that from the tablet under preformce.
After that you set your block fuel and confrim. That should give you a blue NAV on your PFD. FD must be on!!
Hi! i have the a320 ultimate as well and something is very weird when i go into the FMCDU i type in my from and to airports and under that i see IRS INIT-> not IRS ALGN-> do you have any idea why!? this is driving me crazy because it was working before and i had to reinstall due to some other things and now its showing this and not what it normally did before! ANYBODY PLEASE HELP!
Make sure your ADRS are set to NAV.
Micah Messer I do I go bat1 and 2 on then ground power then I set all three to NAV and I look down and it doesn’t show align IRS when I put in the required information

No need to trim manually. The computer will trim the stab for you unless the FBW change to alternate or direct law. CMIIW
Just set a key for the stab trim in case you need it. By default, the key should be "]" for trim up and "[" for trim down. Once again, only on alternate and direct law.

What's your budget? JarDesign is good if you can't afford a $90 add on. If you can, buy the Flight Factor.

Use the peddels.
Then how do you control the rudder ?
I use a DUALSHOCK 4 (lol). I mapped the hold regular brakes to the L2 key (Left trigger for Xbox controller) and bumpers for rudder control.
