    Fair play did a good job. Laying tint isn't easy you have to be patient.

    Hi Naz I thought this was going to be inside the light tinting as per anniversary lights, they are dark inside instead of the shiny metal look. I’ve had them done on mine. I’ll show you.

    • @SPOOLINUP

      Hi Sean, no I was told by someone else to buy those aftermarket headlight projectors but I like the standard lights. I will look at the anniversary lights though thanks.

      Sorry for the late reply, its just a basic tint from Ebay and it was cheap as well. I was happy with the results. Thanks by the way

    Nice work! Makes for a more cohesive look on the front with the black mesh in the bumper and the black VW badge :) Maybe match the lights in the front wing with some tint as well?
    Sounds like before this video was uploaded, the car had the map done. Will you be uploading some sort of video with the result/your impressions? And what's next for the Golf, if anything? :D
    Recently managed to install a FMIC on the Leon (what a pain in the ass..) together with the exact same bumper lip you've got, I like the look. Received some gauges I can go about installing and waiting on some parts for the A/C system so I can get that sorted. Unfortunately discovered quite the big crack in the exhaust manifold but wanted to replace that together with the K04 anyway. Making good progress towards more power, some small bits left and gathering funds for the turbo/manifold/injectors.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree, it definitely looks a lot better, sometimes all the shiny bits look cheap. I was thinking to do those side repeaters as well actually in the same tint as I have some left over and that would be very quick and easy.
      Very good detective work there my friend you are correct, the car was mapped on the 20th June. I will certainly be doing a video of what I think of the car since it has been mapped and any other info I can think to include, also what is next for the car.
      Ahh yes well done man, the intercooler job isn't straight forward, there is some head scratching involved but you have done it now so that is brilliant. So you will be doing a K04 upgrade? I must look into this as well, do you need forged rods though? I already want more power!! Someone may be able to weld your manifold until you are ready to spend the money on the upgrades.
      What needs replacing with the A/C?

    • @Djiel

      @@SPOOLINUP Nice looking forward to the next vid :D
      Yes, the plan is a K04-001 hybrid as the APP engine comes with the basic K03 and limits the whole thing to about 210hp with a basic map. As far as I've read, the stock rods are alright up until 300hp/400nm or so, as long as the tuner makes the curve in a proper way.
      The crack in the manifold is unfortunate, but not unexpected with its mileage. A shop here has a combo deal for the K04 and a ceramic coated manifold, I'll be going with that. As the Leon is not the daily, I'll leave it as is until the new turbo.
      Currently getting all the pieces together for the swap, so as to save the guys doing it as much time as possible. I've had the big TIP for months already (doesn't fit the K03 due to being 51/80 vs 45/70) and besides the turbo and injectors I just need some small bits like washers, gaskets etc. Won't be doing that swap myself as there's no tuners really close by and I don't want to drive 1.5h or more on a new turbo/tip/injectors/bigger MAF setup without proper adjustment, this sounds like a bad idea.
      As for the A/C, the condenser is absolutely shot (was easily visible when doing the FMIC) and I picked up a used pump as I don't know the state of the one on the car.
      I've had the system drained (for as far as that was still needed haha) and checked out some videos and this doesn't seem too bad of a job.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see, yes I was told by my friend to get a golf with a KO3s at least if there was no plan to do a turbo swap. Ahh thats sweet man I never knew you could get away with stock rods with that much power, that is much better than I thought.
      I may buy a package myself one day and then that will be the motivation to get it fitted. Also what is the daily?
      I understand what you are saying, 1.5 hours with big mods like that and no tune doesn't sound like the best idea at all, you are best just sticking to the plan you have.
      Some of these condensers and radiators get surprisingly weak and start to deteriorate rapidly. I learned how to re-gas aircon years ago but wouldn't have a clue now. Good luck with that job as well, it will be very nice once you get it sorted.

    • @Djiel
      @Djiel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SPOOLINUP The daily is a '00 Toyota Celica, originally with a 1ZZ-FE, now fitted with a 2ZZ-GE and a Greddy supercharger, runs at 250hp. The whine and near instant torque are a lot of fun, it's also very planted, drives real nice. I had nearly all the work on that car done professionally however and got the Leon to learn stuff myself. It's been a very fun (though kinda expensive 😂) process.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds wicked man, is it expensive to modify the Celica to that spec? I would like to experience a supercharged car, a subscriber of mine has a supercharged Yaris GR I believe. I too bought my Golf for learning and a hobby, greats cars though these 1.8t.

      @@SPOOLINUP Yeah I’ll probably experiment with the color see what I can do to make it look nice, if not there’s always the option to wrap or paint it. Thanks for the videos btw gunna be ordering a ram air intake and a new diverter valve soon, going to follow your tutorials to get them put in. I’m only 17 innit so I’m not too good with working on cars yet and your tutorials are really well explained and much more in-depth than any others out there! Keep doing what you’re doing buddy!

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sweet brother, that Ram Air is a real wicked modification man, was one of my most loved. The diverter valve isn't essential to be honest, I did it more for the look and reliability but the OEM ones are supposed to be really good. You are one lucky 17 year old man, I wish I had a car like this when I was 17. You will learn lots by working on the car and I respect that you are willing to go for it and do it by yourself. How is the Curpa? Must be fast being an AUQ. In the delete video I block the EVAP off in the engine bay, you shouldn't do that let it vent to atmosphere in the engine bay. I made a mistake. How did you find the job?

      @@SPOOLINUP sweet man, looking to get mine mapped up soon so look forward to seeing your video, got a few niggly issues with mine regarding power loss... hoping it’s just the throttle body needing adapting
      The tutorial was super easy to follow and yes I vented the EVAP into the vent that the carbon canister used to vent to in the wheel arch using some 4mm vac tube!

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope when I do eventually make the video it doesn't disappoint. You will love your car even more after it is mapped. I too had niggles with the car that I wanted to sort first. I never knew what it was like to drive my Golf with no issues but now it's great. Does yours feel like it loses much power?
      Yes see you were smart, I think I might use some of the spare vac line I have and copy you to leave it venting in the wheel arch, thanks for that.
