After seeing the tint in the daylight, I definitely do NOT like the look.

What tint did you use ? What darkness did you use ? Dark or light smoke ?

super talented but I almost immediately return his products he recommended to us. most of his vinyl needs heat activation or unusable because of amount of thickness. on the other hand, Avery Dennison is the easiest I'd worked with.

The LED bulbs will shine through the tint much better.

Why not try a lighter shade?

    • @CliffsGarage

As far as i can find, there is no lighter shade available. It's certainly possible, though, since I've seen almost no headlight or taillight tint film that advertises their VLT, they just use vague terms like "light" or "dark".

Cliff hi! I am putting ppf on my car including headlights. The guy offered to put a slightly tinted film instead of the fully clear one for the sake of the looks. When I told him I wanted to avoid light loss he insisted they don't cause any brightness reduction because the film is very lightly colored. He even tried making a parallel with Lexus headlights and how they are slightly tinted. All in all, what I wanted to ask you, what happens if you use not such a dark film as in your experiment. The film you used is pretty dark. Any thoughts?

At the time, the film I used was the lightest available. If I were to do it again, I'd go with plain PPF. IMO tinted headlights (even slightly) just don't look good.

Is blindfolding yourself while driving a dumb idea?

That is definately dark smoke tint . It blocks to much light out put at night Just go with light smoke and you will be fine . Cops can tell if you have dark smoke tint on front lights just by the way they look compared to other cars they see at night. It's asking for a ticket .

    • @CliffsGarage

I bought both the light and dark tints. This is definitely the light one.
