I watched your review of heroscape years ago when you girls were throwing the tiles around. It has been my family’s favorite for years and we have several box sets. Can’t say enough how good and quick to pick up this game is.

This is a great list, completes the trilogy as it were. Future folks will have a hard time finding and knowing what it is though given the super secret title. 😁

Dice throne is a great pick, quick and easy to learn with some nice decisionmaking. My favorite game

I've had Baseball Highlights 2045 on my shelf for years. I bought it when I first picked up the hobby and only played once or twice. I may have to give it another try now that I'm more seasoned. It's also nice to hear that Tom is a fellow baseball fan.
BBHL2045 is such a great 2p game! Get it off that shelf! So much fun! Suprisingly thematic!
We’ve got the new square edition of Blitzkrieg pre-ordered, but I agreed if it was a different theme, it would really draw more people in. Shield vs Hydra, GI Joe vs Cobra, Transformers vs Decepticons....these would all be pretty great themes that would work for the game.
Res Arcana is fantastic! Undaunted is good as well. Really like Thunder & Lightening, although we don't own it (our son does, though!). Great list!

I have 3-4 of everything Heroscape in tubs. Such a great game. Also the largest game in my collection.

Undaunted is so good! For my personal list I would add Blitz Bowl, D&D Dicemasters and the Transformers TCG.
I think he had Dicemasters in the advanced list..
Blitzkrieg is an amazing 2 player game.
Great list. I still wish they would limit their 2-player lists to games that can ONLY be played by two players. I personally think a majority of games play better with two anyway than, say, four (I'm not saying there aren't many games that play better with high player counts, because there are), so to include any game as a possibility for this list kind of dilutes the point for me. Strict 2-player games I like include Watergate, Home Alone, Fugitive, Targi, Jaipur, Haven, Draco Magi, Onitama, Shobu, Star Wars: Empire v. Rebellion, Star Wars LCG, and Hogwarts Battle. Warchest and Santorini would be on my list, but they technically allow for more than two players.
Dang I wish I could find a copy of Thunder & Lightning.

I am surprised watergate didn’t not make this list.
I am confused about having Undaunted on this list yet Tom put WarChest on the advanced list. WarChest was created as a simplified version of Undaunted. Both are at the same complexity in my mind and if anything Undaunted is a harder game…especially North Africa with the vehicle rules.
Sure, I shouldn't have put WarChest on the advanced list, probably. :(

Along those same lines, I'm very surprised Tom considers Blitzkrieg more complex than Memoir 44. Really enjoy all the videos though, keep up the good work!
While we’re niggling, Blitzkrieg is easily lighter than Targi which Tom out on the light list.

I would of said Battlelore second edition leans more towards advanced for sure. With the magic and the special abilities of every unit there's a bit going on.

But compared to other 2 player skirmish, or rank-and-flank miniature games, I thought it might squeeze nicely into the middle.
Seems a lot lighter than, say, Runewars. 🙂
@@shaneannigans I geuss, really it's a scale and not casual, intermediate and advanced sections of games. I myself would put Battlelore at the top of the intermediate part of the scale or bottom of the advanced part of the scale. I think however memoir 44 would fit into this middle list easily

Yokohama Duel, Jambo, Rivals for Catan, Odin's Ravens, Imhotep Duel, Starship Catan, Carcassonne:The Castle, Fields of Arle....didn't see these on ANY list.

Please please can you guys make a top 10 list of strategic games where luck plays ZERO factor? In other words, NO dice games, no bag building games, etc.
Onitama is an example, but it's a bit boring. Whitehall Mystery is another example where luck plays minimal factor, and it's a tense, awesome game.
I just HATE strategy games that have dice rolling, like Root and Wingspan... Why do designers ruin almost perfect games by including dice rolling?!
I searched online and couldn't really find such list, so it would probably be a good idea to make one.

Technically, Bärenpark has a tiny bit of luck - which is the order in which the new base tiles are revealed.
For me Undauted is beating all other games on Chris list easily. Such a great game with smooth but captivating gameplay 👌
But Heroscape is definitely for multiple players (as well as 2)
I really can't with res arcana just like i can't with century spice road.

@@marccote8544 Undaunted is a different kind of game. It is a deck builder with WW2 tactical combat. Blitzkrieg is more a strategic theater game of WW2. Both scratch different itches but I love them both.

There's a word for between casual and advanced, it's called intermediate. Looks like I revealed the secret.
Still no mention of watergate from Tom on any 3 lists. I thought it would of made his middle list.
