Thank you Mark and family for the update. Stay save. Cheers
No worries and thanks ☺️
Thanks for the update. My wife and I are hoping to by an XLT Ranger at the end of the year, so it''s been great following your experience, mods and suppliers. I'm in WA and find it difficult to find reliable quality suppliers as a high price these days is no guarantee, allot of the time you don't even get what you've paid for.
Yeah it is tricky finding suppliers you can trust to work on your car. As a general rule, I’ve found having less companies/people work on the car the better so you have consistency with things like wiring if you’re adding accessories etc.
Exciting that you have a new XLT coming. They really are a lovely car to drive - still enjoying it after a year and a half of ownership.
thanks Mark. Having just bought the new 24 next gen sport, I've gone back over you previous posts. unlike others I've come across, you've been positive, sought fixes, and released good content. much appreciated. you have a dedicated follower over hear on the east side.
Thanks mate. I do really like the car and the reality is no vehicle/make/model is immune from issues. When you consider how big of a step forward it is from the previous PX model, I knew there was the chance of an odd glitch here and there. Overall it’s been enjoyable to own.
Congrats on the new Sport and thanks for the follow ☺️
Awesome thanks for the update. Keen to see if there is a fix
No worries. Yeah keeping everything crossed it’s the solution 🤞
Thanks for the updates mate. Enjoy your videos. I guess it's a good thing that you fitted that trans cooler otherwise you might not have been able to do 4Hi in thick sand without some heat issues.
Thanks mate! Yes that’s a good point. Trans temps were great on the trip in 4H. Interesting thats Fords default ‘sand’ mode used 4H and locks the rear dif. XLT doesn’t have this mode, but the models above do
Thank you very much for the information,,I have recently purchased the same vehicle and my plan is to travel up to Cape York then across to WA from my current location in SA, glad I found your channel, thank you.
No worries. Cape York sounds amazing. Love to do it one day! Cheers Mark
Seems like a simple fix which is good mate.
Yes mate. Hopefully this is the fix 🤞
Cheers for the update Mark n co
Interesting, will be following once the replacement is fitted, to see if that was the cause, as you say , fingers crossed.
No worries. Yeah that’s all I can really do at this stage. Remaining hopeful this is it 🤞
Hey Mark. I was supposed to have picked up my wild track but it's on hold due to a front sensor issue when fitting a bull bar. All pre delivery Bullaring fittings have been put on hold They told me it needs to be remapped. Wonder if it's the same issue.
Interesting mate. Certainly could be!
Hopefully that's the problem buddy, fingers crossed 🤞
That’s it! Really happy they found a code. Hopefully it’s the fix 🤞
Great video mate, keep up the great work :)
Thanks mate 👌
Yes, its all about confidence. Vehicle manufacturers need to assign value to customers requirement for confidence in reliability of the vehicle, particularly when you’re using the features it was designed for you to use.
Yes 100%. An issue does shake your confidence. After a few big trips in my previous Pajero Sport in challenging conditions, I had the confidence to take it anywhere. The goal is to push this one too. Remaining hopeful of this being the solution 🤞
Hey Mark, you should have kept your Pajero Sport 😁
It’s a big step up from the PS, but last rig sure was a reliable workhorse for me 😀 Just lacked oomph for towing
No scan gauge atm. Will definitely look to install along with oil trans cooler.
Really enjoy your content!👌
Thanks mate. Appreciate it
Good luck mate
Thanks mate. Keeping everything crossed that it will sort the issue 🤞
awesome Mark, i'm sure this will the problem, easy fix
I hope so mate 🤞
Hi mate i own a next gen sport had it go into limp while towing my caravan. This happened in tow/Haul mode while coasting down a hill not accelerating. Lucky to find a spot to get off the road! Turned off and restarted all good so far.
Due for 45,000 service next week will be interesting to hear what ford has to say.
Cheers Mick
Interesting mate. Assume you were in 4A at the time?
@@Perth4WDandCamping
Yes Mark we're travelling away from home at the time and have driven about 1500ks since
and no issues. Would be nice to understand why this happened! 😕
@@MickCirson yeah definitely want to get to the bottom of it. Unsure if you’re running a OBD monitoring device like a ScanGauge but it’s a great way to keep an eye on the vitals - as the digital gauges aren’t specific enough IMO
Let's hope 🤞🤞 usually that sensor trigger a code for adaptive cruise control malfunction when disconnected or faulty but haven't seen limp mode yet. I guess you can try for us to lock your rear diff in 4L that sensor would be deactivated from The computer as well as you brake asissist so it should not give you the code 🤔. See how you go
Yeah it’s an interesting one. Rear dif wasn’t locked but traction and esc was off (via long hold on the traction button). I guess just have to trust the diagnosis here and advise from Ford and fingers crossed it’s the fix 🤞
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, Mark. Btw, where did you film this at? Looks like a nice spot to camp.
Thanks. Dunns Ecopark. We’ll have a camp review coming as part of our next videos which will cover our Esperance stay ☺️
@@Perth4WDandCamping Cheers Mark. Looking forward to the review.
Did the snorkel sock make any difference to the noise. Thanks.
Yeah it did mate. Actually quite a noticeable reduction in noise
Hmmm front sonar shouldnt affect drivability (limping) the only thing it should affect is your cruise control and emergency braking when near a car. But who knows i'm not a ford mechanic but i do work with hyundai and toyota which is when the sonar/radar is faulty it just won't let you use your cruise control but not put the car in limp mode.
Only going off what I have been told from the dealership. They must believe it’s possible with it sharing the harness with the powertrain module. I guess time will tell if the distance sensor is the fix. Fingers crossed 🤞
Thanks have a ford 22mod don 40000 v6 10 speed all good
Nice one. They are a nice car aren’t they
Give it a flogging in 4 low otherwise you won't know if it's fixed , better to find out now than when you need 4 low and it goes into limp again . You need to be confident in your vehicle other wise it's to stressful .😁
I’ll give it a good test once the part is changed over. Even then will need a few trips to be sure
HI Mark, where is the nice camp spot, looks like a bluegum plantation, nice ute.
Yes they sure are blue gum trees. It’s at Dunns Ecopark. We’ll have a camp review coming soon as part of our next videos which will cover our Esperance stay ☺️
Nice Rig and all rounder but poor resale for this Ute .
Yeah great car overall. Resale long term who knows. Personally I’ve never bought a car based on resale - just what’s best for my application and budget
Too much electronics on these rigs sell before the warranty runs out mate
I do really like the car mate. Fantastic to drive, tows like a dream and has been really capable offroad (with the exception of this glitch). Willing to stick with it and hope this is the fix 🤞
I knew getting a first gen of a new model that there’s always a risk of a few glitches. Hopefully it’s fixed soon as really is the perfect rig for our needs.
@@Perth4WDandCamping I’m sure it’s nice to drive you just don’t want fords problems to become yours after the warranty runs out
Same with any new vehicle. There’s no guarantees after warranty but if you look after then / regular service etc, you give yourself the best chance. See how we go
Does Ford know that you are a public figure on a social platform?
It’s possible. I supplied a video to the dealer showing footage of it going into limp mode in the hope it would help resolve the issue. The reality is the video didn’t really help as there were no codes registered initially, but it did prove the issue occurred.
I would just sell it I’m selling my 23 ranger wildtrak as the way the world is going if car builders go the way as Toyota with hydrogen icb 4wds will be good. But if they keep pushing for electric cars it’s been proven electric 4wds back will slide going down lose surfaces and you can good buy to aftermarket parts shops
ICE engines still have plenty of life in them yet for 4WDing in Aus. Keen to hold onto it. Other than this set back it’s been great offroad, a fantastic tow vehicle and comfortable enough run the city. Hopefully this is the fix 🤞
@@Perth4WDandCamping I don’t think so next time you go to ford ask them they stopping production on next gen next year
We’ll see mate. Currently the best selling car in Aus so it’s what the people want. Rangers will be sold for a while yet. Be interesting however how long they keep the v6 going for.
