Pop out both taillights , Splice one wire onto right side brake lite wire , Feed it through frame to the left hand tail light , then you can hook onto left brake wire , tail light wire , and back up wire, much easier. inside the left hand tail light opening is a bolt for load tie down , Hook ground wire to it , The aluminum body is ok to ground to, much easier than doing all that stuff under the truck. You have to hard wire them to the taillights not to trailer connections the trailer sensor won't recognize the signals n brake lights.
Both turn signals wire on the LED are supposed to be the brakes too, but I can’t figure out how to connect them to harness. Turn signals somehow have to connect to brake wire, but when I do, one of my turn signals comes on every the brakes are applied
Wire it properly and you won’t have any problems, I just plugged mine into the trailer connector and it works perfectly, if you don’t want to do that splice the wires into your trailer harness, not to your tail lights, that’s probably where your problem is
The only thing pulled from the taillight was the reverse lights. That was my main reason for installing. So using the 4 pin trailer plug would not have given me the most important function.
I didn’t cut my harness. I de -pinned the coupler. Truck to Led colors as follows. Green to Green, white to blue, yellow to yellow, brown to white, gray to red. For the reverse lights I ended up just using the coupler didn’t tie into Reverse light. $23 on eBay awaiting night to see brightness
I’ve installed a couple of these and I’ve watched quite a few videos just to see if anyone has done it the way I have done it. The reverse wire you can go to a local auto shop And I’ll have a two pin extension wire you can cut and splice it to where you just have one pan and modify the rubber around the pan either by a seven way to 5 way adapter or buy the whole 9 yards that mounts under the bumper but you take that one pen and solder it to the reverse wire and you make that a five way plug. It’s a lot easier and better In my opinion then trying to tie it directly into the wiring
Everything works on mine except running lights . When I check the wire for running lights the wire is dead . Tomorrow I’m gonna cut the back up wire and see if I have running lights. $12.00 junk!!

Measure twice cut once. Always test electrical parts before installing.

Well mine did. 2013 f150
We're talking 2018 buddy glad it worked for you my 2017 was ok with the trailer plug but not the 18 it has all the sensors

I did splice into my taillight harness, I got the running, the reverse and both turn but the brakes aren’t coming on.
