    I was actually at JR’s return after his Bells Palsy incident. It was at a WWF Monday Night Raw show in Detroit, Michigan. No one knew he was set to return that night so it was a pleasant surprise for everyone. He received a standing ovation. The Rock also threw Stone Cold into the Detroit River off of the Belle Isle Bridge that night too lmao. April 12th, 1999.

    Jr is a freaking genius when he said you need to make a professional relationship with your boss, not in ass kissing way, but in a way where your boss gets to know you. That will open opportunity for you. Thats some real shit.

      Jim hasn't hit the best of his personal ability since about 1992, and in their way for their styles Gordon Solie and Lance Russell were just as great. But Jim's legend is deserved, his ability to make these memorable great calls even out of absolutely terrible crap is to be commended. Goes to show not only how good he is but how far the overall quality of live commentary has generally fallen that he stands out as a singular talent even doing far from his best work. I will miss him when he's gone, but his voice will live on!

    J.R. is probably the best play by play commentator ever, But I don't agree with him about trying to sign Kenny Omega, Okada, and the Young Bucks. They're fine where they're at and have all the creative freedom in the world. WWE would water them down, job them out to homegrown talent, take away their gimmicks or put their own spin on them. The grass isn't always greener...

    I really wish WWE would hire JR to travel to every RAW & Smackdown & just be a coach to everything backstage... The talent, the writers, ect.. I think its different than it use to be.. I don't think talent CAN speak up unless you're already on top... Didn't they consider Aries "hard to work with" because he spoke up? If the writers come up with something stupid (which is all the damn time) the talent gets heat for being too hard to work with if they speak up & say "no, I'm not doing that.. Let's do this" or "no, I would never say that.. This is what I would say" ... Then bam, now you have heat.. & I've heard of so many wrestlers who come up with their own ideas of who they are & get turned down every single week... Then once they're gone, their ideas get put to use on someone else.... JTG for instance.... HE came up with the Little Jimmy thing... He just didn't call it "little jimmy" but pretty much that whole gimmick was his... Yet we see who ended up getting to use it & JTG of course didn't get anything but released. So its different than how it was back then & they need a majority influence back there to get shit back right. Grown men can't be grown men back there anymore.

    • @drevm7991
      @drevm7991 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Miko TruStar They need to get real wrestling writers like in the Attitude Era. I know a couple writers and a lot of what they hire are bad comedians and reality tv writers, which is why it feels so stupid and jokey all the time.

    • @MikoTruStar
      @MikoTruStar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      tujefa1981 I guess it would be talent relations.. But I wouldn't even want him with a title.. Talent relations have restrictions.. I'm talking more of an advisor to EVERYONE.. Like if he see something that he knows is stupid, guide that person or situation, if he see some injustice, guide the situation, talk to Mr. McMahon & help him with the direction of the shows... Do just whatever he sees fit to do with no pressure lol. Like especially if he could talk to Vince & the writers about the talent & their abilities.. Cause its like he has more knowledge of what Nakamura should be doing than they know.. I know he would be able to speak up & let it be known when they are wasting someone's talents.. Its an unrealistic job overall.. That's why I say just pay him to be backstage lol

    The irony of WWE today is that every time they try to make things safer in the ring and more family friendly: people get injured more often and NO-ONE gives a rat's ass about any of the Superstars. Seriously, you could replace them with people from TNA or ROH and the audience would yawn - switch over to football or MMA.

    I didn't know his wife died that's sad let alone anyone losing a loved one I've always liked Jim Ross I was getting into wrestling in 1992 and just fell in love with wrestling I was 7 years old. We have Vince McMahon and the King on commentary most of the time which was very awesome on the side I can't remember if he was on like Saturday morning shows but I remember before Vince McMahon stop doing commentary it was mainly the king and Vince and Jr was there I remember but anyway all this blabble my point is I grew up listening and watching Jay r and I loved whenever Stone Cold came out that chance and him saying Stone Cold Stone Cold Stone cold over and over and being Jr and Jerry The King Lawler on commentary was golden anyone nowadays doesn't touch Vince McMahon / the king or Jr and the King they are a big part of my life and I recently got back into it I stopped watching wrestling in 2001 and I'm trying to get caught up and I really don't like anything past 2003 if anyone can point me to anything worth watching please do so because I'm a huge fan of Shawn Michaels Bret heart Stone Cold Steve Austin Undertaker I sat behind the ring at WrestleMania VII and it was a something I will never forget anyway I just thought I would share my love of the new generation of wrestling and the Attitude Era which is pretty much 1994 through 2002 or 3 I believe. And wanted to wish Jr the best on his future endeavors and give my condolences to his wife passing sorry about the sloppy typing I used voice typing and It's tricky to insert good punctuation without the keyboard

    "Every character should be an extension of themselves'.
    You know. The longer I think about it, the less true this statement gets.
    Goldust was nothing like Dustin Rhodes.
    Mark Calloway is not a supernatural zombie old west undertaker.
    Glenn Jacobs is not... whatever Kane is.
    These are three of the best characters in the history of the business.
    Meanwhile, some of the most INSUFFERABLY BORING characters of the last 20 years - John Cena, Randy Orton, blah blah blah - have been 'extensions of themselves'.
    And the ratings just keep going down down down.
