  • Cleaning the end of the hose on a Weber performer Deluxe that has no propane flow going through it to ignite the tube. After a simple quick cleaning everything works now as it should.

Thx for the video, I just cleaned mine on my summit charcoal
Now it works like a charm, didn't have any dentist tool so I used a wooden toothpick

I used the plastic from a tag to a shirt. Worked perfect.

Great design having a flame next to a Charcoal Basket when plugged up.

I'm replacing the stainless tubing that goes through the wall. Weber designed these with shallow flat heads (and no shoulders) rather than hex bolt heads so you can't get a grip when trying to take the bolts out. The ends of the bolts are exposed to the inside heat so in rough shape, and trying to get the washer and bolt off with a ratchet on one side and a flat head screwdriver on the other is a real trick. Ended up having to cut the bolt off and buy new ones. Take a look at yours and you'll see what I mean. Mine is the old performer with the stainless work table but I think it's the same ignition design.

I had replaced all my bolts, nuts and washers to stainless steel a couple years ago. But I do know what you mean.

low pressure in the tank can also burn back there, but be sure to clean it!

Good video, but the issue I have is the ignition button. Any ideas on that, or should I replace it?

I would replace it if it is the button. I would take a long screw driver down the tube where the hose attaches, and make sure the spark has a good ground to ignite to. Sometimes, if the pipe is dirty enough, it can not ignite to ground. Using the screw driver to "scratch" it clean the spark should be jumping to.

its a cheap replacement part, dumb question.. but did you check the battery?

Great video! Thanks for posting? Did you make the diamond pattern charcoal grate yourself or did you buy it? Looks like a nice add-on.

That is just a piece of expanded steel, on top of the normal charcoal grate. Works great for lump charcoal.

Does the performer use gas or propane?

The Performer Deluxe uses a 1 lb propane assist Touch N Go ignition to light charcoal .th-cam.com/video/5CU0f2oFExU/w-d-xo.html
