    "Miraculously neither boy was seriously injured" - no miracle here, the hero working on the train saved both their lives.

    They were lucky that conductor was so damn brave, not that it's the kids' fault. Why would you trust a baby to a baby?

      You have any idea how old they are , the mother should be paying more attention definitely when you are near train tracks, that aqument does not work

    So glad that the children didn't get seriously injured. The man who protected them was a hero and hopefully, this taught the mother to never leave a very young child to supervise another very young child again!

      @@gamingrating1612 yeah, although the mom wasnt entirely wrong, i mean she knew the 3 year old was pretty obidient cautious and inteligent, she's still was at fault for being irresponsible however, just because one of your kids is surprisingly cautious or smart, dont mean you should put him to babysit his brother.

    Who the hell lets a 3 year old and 1 year old play outside ALONE?!? I would never let my 3 year old nephew out of my sight let alone go wandering outside and in charge of a baby! What was that mom thinking!?! She is so lucky, it could of been so much worse.

    • @mchobbit2951
      @mchobbit2951 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I think that letting children play outside alone is 100% fine even though most people seem to think that you need to watch them 24/7 until they turn 16 these days. But there is letting kids play outside in the yard or at the park unsupervised and then there is putting a 3 year old in charge of a 1 year old when there's a train going by your house.

    Who the hell would let kids that age go off that far from there house?

    • @wilfred8326
      @wilfred8326 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well kids do move faster than you think BUT that is not that I condone or excuse the mother as I am a mostly stay at home dad and you would not believe the trouble the kids get into literally "in the next room" (like when all you are trying to do is take a shower) OR if in the yard one kid will "RUN FOR THE ROAD" when playing outside and you will be like "Where's ______?"
      Bottom line even tough there are rules, kids forget them such as "no running in the house." (I tell my kid that all the time) or to "Only stay in the back yard" (when we are all playing in the back yard) and yet 5 minutes later they might be running to the front yard where the busy road is because they have no concept of consequences.

    Dear God... who in their sane mind would leave a 3-year old watch over a 1-year old?! Neither have the mind to tell what's dangerous and what's not, let alone what to do if something happens. Thank God both kids were alright, in the end and nothing actually serious happened to them. That lady could have lost both of them. Not to mention the conductor could _also_ also have suffered serious injuries or died, as well. And all because of one irresponsible mother. The little ones didn't know any better to handle themselves, out there. It was _her_ who should be watching over _both_ of them. Keep the kids inside while you put the groceries away and _then_ take them outside to play. That's what i would have done if I were her. God bless that brave conductor for protecting those two babies with his life. God bless.

    What a stupid, neglectful mother. No, this was not a mistake anyone could make. Any mother with a brain is not going to leave a baby and a 3 year old outside by themselves, especially when they are near train tracks. She is very lucky that she didn't lose both her boys. She seriously did not deserve to be a mother.

      I was wondering that, too. When I was 3 my parents lived in a house by the trains tracks, too but I wouldn't have dreamed of playing on the tracks. I think the average 3 year-old knows playing on a railroad track could be detrimental to their health and if they're on the track and there's a train coming toward them blowing the horn I can't imagine what 3 year-old wouldn't get themself and their baby brother off of the tracks as soon as they saw the train.

Who the hell let's their small children play Outside with train Tracks near by? 99 percent of this "accident" was caused by the mother's stupidity......yet notice how she puts blame on other factors? He bought my niece a Drone and we were flying it and we told him "stay out of the street" and no matter how many times we told him he kept chasing it out into the road and this was with the supervision of a 12 year old, 34 and 36 year old. So she leaves the kids ALONE?
      My Parents used to let us ride on our side street but not until we were like 7 or 8 and we had like 10 kids on the street so there were always kids and at least one parent outiside watching the street from one of the families.... This , well this was just neglectful.

In the 80's and 90's abductions, deaths, abuse, neglect were localized, because the internet didn't exist. Cell phones and car phones were rare. Crime was actually higher then, and most parents on this show dealt with a very lax CPS system.

      I think the fact that she left two babies outside alone was the problem. That was incredibly stupid. Usually I hate when people blame parents for accidents as I know how kids get into stuff. But this was so freaking negligent the mother should have faced charges and made to take parenting classes. She left them by a road too they could’ve been hit by a car as well. It’s not like the kids snuck out or climbed over or under a fence. She purposely left them outside alone.

    Not the one we did. He not only was alive after being hit by a train but he woke up while we were on the scene treating him. He started screaming and begging us to let him die because of how bad the pain was, and this was a person who had walked in front of the train on purpose hoping to kill himself.

      No. They air stories like this to educate people who don't know any better or who are just simply too stupid to think logically. The whole show "Rescue 911" was to promote the 911 system as it was just emerging in this day.

    In this day and age she would have lost both of her kids to Social Services no doubt. She made a mistake to let her kids outside by themselves at that age. Did I think she's a bad mother? No but I do believe this was a learning experience for her. She could have lost a child or even worse both of them. She has God to thank for watching over her 2 kids that day.

    You should NEVER play on or near the train tracks. A train with that much weight takes over a mile to stop. And there is not enough clearance or view in front for the conductor/conductors to see in front. What an irresponsible parent!

    • @TheTrueAdept
      @TheTrueAdept 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing is, a lot of people have misconceptions about trains and ships and think that they can stop like cars. The sad thing is, they don't. A train with only a literal handful of cars and one loco has a stop distance measured in fractions of a mile. This is with the emergency breaks mind you. With ships, it goes from 'moderate-sized trains' to 'those multi-mile long trains' in terms of stop distance.
      It still plagues the world today. The only reason that I knew better was that I was fascinated by trains since I was a tot.

    I was abused as a young child and almost killed a couple of times by my abuser. Between the ages of 4-8. I lived in constant terror every day of what horrible thing was going to happen next. Basically dreading each moment. I think that made me terribly aware that bad things can and will happen and you should expect them. I always watched my kids and protected them to excess probably. I have a hard time understanding how people can be oblivious to the things that can happen when you don't know where your child is for 15 seconds. I was always so cautious. I wonder what it's like to be so unaware. Even before i had kids, i would see news stories or watch shows like this that showed exactly what could happen. This show makes you realize an emergency has to be happening practically every moment. How can people think they're immune?

    Lesson learned: don’t be a horrible parent like the one as shown and let your kids out of your sight. I see it all the time and it bugs me to no end. Even when I’m at Walmart, I see a couple shopping to find groceries, and their little child is just following 10 feet behind struggling to keep up, vulnerable to get kidnapped.

    Saying that things were done differently ‘back then’ is absolutely no excuse - the dangers could not have been any more apparent. The woman was irresponsibly neglectful. She was damn lucky to not only still have both her boys, she is also lucky the boys’ rescuer was not injured or killed himself. I found this to be unbelievably disturbing to watch.

  • @pique-nique

    I know having a child doesn’t come with an instruction and safety manual, but I think a lot of child safety and child rearing is just common sense. Geeze, toddlers + 300 feet to train tracks + train tracks + no adult supervision = disaster waiting to happen. And afterward those parents start giving the rest of us advice when the vast majority of us would never have let our toddlers be vulnerable in the first place! There’s just nothing in me that wants to be sympathetic or understanding about the actions of those really negligent parents. Huge big SHAME ON YOU!

    She should have took them in the house to play while she unloaded the groceries. Children and playing on the railroad tracks are extremely dangerous and absolutely not safe at all. People have to understand that trains are super powerful and can tear a car apart and can kill a person if they are not aware of them. Be extremely careful around railroad tracks and trains.

    All of you that are hating the mother give her a break. It was an accident and kids are always so curious and can sneak off to do dangerous things they never done before. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes so you guys picking on the mother thinks that you never make and never will make mistakes but it is not like any of you are perfect either since you're all human! I know when I graduate from university in 2 years I will have kids too and I know that they might get themselves in dangerous situations. Parents can't watch their children all the time and kids are fast and curious so accidents happen!
