8:06 Nah man your just a awesome ambassador for our country. I always take care of local vendors like this and it’s always awesome to see you doing the same. This makes all of us Americans look good and this is a big part of why I love this channel.
After visiting the Mekong myself I was so impressed with how resourceful the people that live there are. To be able to make an entire economy based around a freaking coconut just blew my mind.

I love your videos. I wish I can travel and eat with you. You have shown a Vietnamese immigrant so many things I have never seen before from his old country.
You are blessed, Max. The place, the people, the foods, these are the best VN can give to a wanderlust like you. I envy you, because as a Viet I don't get to be treated that way often. This is the essence of the great Mekong Delta.
Phở, Bánh Mì, gỏi cuốn,. V.v still has so many mix vegatable in there. And our soup has carrot, onion, bla bla vegan you can see, because vegatable, fruits are main delicious in our food. 😁👍. Wish you has good meal
Hey Max. I really like this style of vlog. It's has a bit of everything: the food, the place, the people and best of all, how you be authentic about the experience. I hope you keep this format as your channel grow.
You make me want to come back and eat them all 😭 wish this pandemic will be over soon and everybody can make it through it to get back to normal again 😋
Thank you so much Max, I'm from Ben Tre but now live far from my hometown. Really miss my hometown. Coconut candy you do not need to rush to chew because it is quite sticky. Usually we enjoy letting it melt in the mouth without sticking to the teeth which would be so much fun. Really looking forward to your new video, I'm already subscribed!🙂
That's a first. Watching edible scrabble tiles being made. Mark is lucky to be Vietnam while there are no tourists around. I also envy Mark's command of Vietnamese. I can only mutter a few words. Very impressive!
OMG, that Fried Elephant Ear Fish in that little wrap looks delicious. I wonder if they can make that here in America!? Some fish sauce, a few chillies, and keep eating wraps! YUM! I want to go to Vietname to try all of this food too now.
I have to be honest..I made some faces during the more unique proteins. I’ll try anything once.. just need to close my eyes and have someone hold my hand😆. Fun fact.. you know the meal is great once the toothpick comes out! As always thanks for bringing us along....
Wow bro, you're living the good life there in VN. Nothing beat country side homecooked meal. Vietnamese knows how to use every single veggies and herbs to their max potential.
I think I'd have stayed on that hammock on the boat and sleep the day away. That's totally me. Until I see that fish. First saw it on Sonny's channel years ago and loved the presentation and how it's served. And I'm like you, I see kitchen gadgets and tools, I have to have every single one (every version and iteration is needed!)
If I remember correctly the inner layer of the candy wraps are made of rice paper so you can actually eat that to prevent your fingers tapping into the stickiness of the candy.
That's a giant gourami.... native to South East Asia.... in North America.... we had them as pet not as food.... hehehe Just so you know.... they fried it alive.... freak me out when I saw the cook drop it in the fryer.... I couldn't eat it after that.... I have one in fish tank back in Canada Ben Tre is awesome.... swamped with the locals kids by the river.... preferred to visit Vietnam countryside.... the norther you go the more beautiful it gets Nice video.... safe travelling
Very enjoyable video. Loved the hammock on the boat. Your guide seemed knowledgeable The candy store employees work really fast packaging the candy. 👏👏👏
Dang, you have the courage to eat the worm. That's what Iike to see. The mice look good, I thought it was birds, had to rewind to hear it correctly. It's good to see that you're not picky with food.
