Hey Max, I've been watching a few of your vidoes lately. And I really like it. I try to look for your email address; however, I couldnt find one. So, I'm gonna just put it here tho. I'm Vietnamese native located in SG. I see myself as a food lover and also love traveling. I personally have quite a few knowledge about food in general (asian cuisines, western cuisines, also ingredients, how to make...). I would love to help you out with your food exploring trip in SG. Not too sure if you're interest in this, but if you are, please just let me know. Bet I can support you a lot in making more food videos in future. First thing to consider is that I can get you traveling around doing your food trip instead of getting Grab xD. So, please let me know if you need a local food partner. Kindly like or reply to my message and we can talk further in pm. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers You can just call me Ryan, btw.
Another excellent video Max. My Vietnamese wife and I love watching all your food ventures there in Vietnam (especially in the Saigon Area). Brings back many great memories of our time in Vietnam back around 71-72. You have the perfect "Anthony Bourdain" personality and are well deserving of having your own Asian Food Documentarian TV show. Keep smiling and sharing all the yummy Vietnamese food. Tim is the perfect partner on your videos.
Hey Max, your Vietnamese has improved a lot. Thanks for treating the locals with respect and kindness. You can hear the joy in their voice speaking with you in native tongue. Keep it up.
It’s marvellous that you can eat so well over there and it’s cheap to do so! You are so fluent in speaking Vietnamese Max it’s awesome. Your channel has come a long way, so proud of you
Max - you speak Vietnamese really well. I am so glad you took the time to learn and assimilate to our culture and the way of living. All the foods that you sampled are also my favourites. I can’t wait until this virus boiled over so I can book my return flight to Vietnam.
it is crazy how descriptive you are about food. I tried almost all the food that you ate, and I been looking for someone that can describe the flavor to its core!! and you did it very well. Your Vietnamese is crazzzy man!!!!, I can see lots of effort that you put into your work. Great work , please keep going
I’m watching this video while still in bed as I mentally prepare to go outside and shovel a foot of snow from my driveway but I’m not jealous of Max at all despite what anyone might think lol.
Bun thit nuong...so good, not sure why food vloggers in Vietnam don't feature it more often. I love all the different add ins you had in yours, too! I've never had the fried banh bao before, but you've convinced me to try it in the future. :) I'm not a big hotpot person, but today's hotpot is calling me with all the bones and cartilage goodness!
The way you eat makes me so hungry and craving to visit Vietnam for a foodie trip! If it were not for covid I would be in VN right now! Hello from Australia 🇦🇺
There are district in sectors that have covid-19 I've been quarantine and can't leave a home not even to buy food but there are some TH-camrs are helping with the distribution of food for them.

Max, you are killing me with all that good food! I am so jealous! You are living my dream! 😃 Stay safe and hope to meet you once we are allowed to travel to Vietnam.
It’s the place to be! Vietnam here I come! This will be my place of choice to live and eat the rest of my life! Now all I Gotta do is learn lots of Vietnamese.
You can do it! Max has come so far in a short period of time that it's quite amazing. There's also Chris in Hanoi who is crazy good in Vietnamese. And "Vietnam Meets Dustin" is also really good (his tonality is superb!). Phuc Map has a great vocab, but his tonality needs a lot of work.
Hi Max, I'm Vietnamese and I'm very happy when you take a video to share Vietnam for everyone to see, wish you have interesting and happy experiences in Vietnam.
Dude, the way you speak Vietnamese and how you immerse yourself into Vietnamese culture represented through your food tour really deserves my utmost respect. I don't have the habit of commenting on TH-cam but you have earned this one for sure. Hat off! Love the idea of mixing mam nem with cha gio and grilled meat, but may I suggest the better combination would be either with sweet and sour fish sauce in the South or minced pork liver and peanut sauce from the Central? Should try the latter some day man :D
Your videos just narturally pop in my youtube feed and now I kinda addicted to them. So glad that a foreigner really enjoy our cousine and you're even in love with some of our exotic spices or ingredients
Hello. I am a Vietnamese child and I feel very ashamed for not being able to advertise Vietnamese food to foreign friends, very fortunate for us to have friends. Thank you for bringing Vietnamese food to the world. Wishing you good health and good things will come to you. Vietnam loves you. ❤️❤️❤️
This guy is even more cultured than me, a Vietnamese 😅 He even knows the difference btw the way we eat la lot in the North compared to the South. Im impressed 😯😯
This whole video was satisfying! I’m smacking my lips as I try to finish my boring oatmeal😆. Funny I was about to comment if you ever got strange looks from ordering all that food for one! As always thanks for bringing us along....
Vietnamese people are always friendly and hospitable, hoping that you can have the happiest life in our country. Because our cuisine has seasoning sauce, shrimp paste, shrimp sauce, ... right, Max
I’m really into your content about Vietnamese foods. You share Vietnamese foods with everyone, I share your channel to my friends. Still support what you do!
Man, such delicious meals for so cheap, makes me wanna go there for another holiday! :D ps. Great to see your channel growing well, I do recall I first saw your content when you barely had any subs.
The grilled meat looks so yummy. 👍👍👍 Vietnam is full of surprises, this is the first time I see pineapple used to cook the soup for hot pot and this is also the first time I see scissors being used to cut the meat from the rib bones. 😀
oh man, banh bao chien is the best childhood snack of every kids in the 90s and 2000s. It used to be only 1k each which was affordable for students. When i came back to VN, that’s the first thing I eat on the way home from the airport. I could eat like 10 of them.
Hi Max, a small tip to unlock another level of vietnamese hospitality for you. Your vietnamese is already really good and polite but using 'Tôi' (I, me) as the pronoun is a bit formal. If you can, try using 'Con' or 'Em' to refer to yourself when speaking to people that seem older than you. They will be super pleased and you might get some freebies.
Bourdain would be proud of you. I am impressed with your ability to eat the knuckles with all the tendons and gristle. no wonder asian women have great skin they eat so much collagen.
I am jealous of Max. He's enjoying life currently as it should be. My county in the USA just lifted the lockdown. Now restaurant can accommodate limited capacity. The covid-19 surge just subsided a bit as county ICU bed capacity is just above %15 now. I am still waiting for the moment when Max decides to go totally Vietnamese for a year in everything (including speaking Vietnamese all the time in daily tasks). It would up the ante and the total cultural submersion would afford him more insights into a Vietnamese life than he could have ever been. Let's see if he's up for it....
All my favorites!!!! Here I'm stuck with my damn thesis and lockdown. Mann, I miss Vietnam so bad and new year is coming :(. Btw, watching this video at midnight is also not a good idea lol
As others have said, your Vietnamese has come so far in such a short period of time, Max! Life happened and I didn't get to watch you for a couple of months or so and I come and you're practically fluent! That's freakin' AMAZING! I love that you put in the effort unlike Sonny. Your vocab and comprehension is great, but your tonality needs work. Dustin has amazing tonality.
Hey Max, huge fan! if you're looking for more hot pot content, go to Bau Sen restaurant on 132 Le Hong Phong st District 5, they have the best goat hot pot in traditional medicine broth, seeing how easily impressed you are with our food, you will love it.
I think that Vietnam just started to recover in the 1980s. Five years after the war, many restaurants opened. And the eateries that exist until now are all delicious ones, and it's been around for 40 years! - This is my opinion! :3
Hey Max, love ur content, it’s been about 3 years now I haven’t gotten the chance to come back to Vietnam cuz of COVID and stuff. However, I’ve been able to learn a lot and catch up on a lot of things through your videos. Love ur vids man! Keep it up. One constructive criticism though: work on your Vietnamese pronouns a little bit. Try to use “Em, Anh” instead of “Toi”. Anyway loves ur content!:)
