The only way I can lose weight is through high protein, moderate fat, low carbs. I lost 20 lbs after c@vid. I had a hysterectomy last year and gained 10 lbs very quickly. I tried high fat 80/20 carnivore, and even at my maintenance calories, I gained 10 more pounds. I started following the Emmerich’s FREE macro calculator and incorporating two PSMF days a week and I’m down 6 lbs in 10 days. High fat works for some people. Not for me. Love Maria and Craig and the free knowledge they provide.

Thanks, Craig. So many people don't understand this at all and they're running around with CGMs when they don't need one and it serves no purpose for them and all it does is frustrate them and confuse them. You're so knowledgeable and such an excellent teacher (as is Maria) that you're able to explain it so people can understand.

It is about learning. Nothing wrong with people wanting to learn using a CGM as long as they educate themselves. Liek we are doing listening to Craig and many others.

    • @craigemmerich
      @craigemmerich ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@papazjose1274 Yes, but so many are educated by influencers that any blood sugar increase is bad. We have had tons of clients that came to us wearing a CGM thinking a 15 point rise after eating was a problem. Also had 3 people now ask us if they should stop exercising because glucose spikes huge (100 points to 200 in one case) on their CGM.

@@craigemmerich I do understand & agree with all that you explained in the video & your comment. Thank you for the details.
Yes, INFLUENCERS are a problem as well as bought & paid for individuals pushing gov & big Pharma propaganda. And the latest created celebrities. Many are paid to dumb-down the population, push censorship & division like they pushed Covid vaccines & anyone that did not follow their orders & lies to be censored.
All I meant was that people are doing the best they can with using CGMs without knowing that they have been dumb-down, & lost most of their analytical faculties due to the facts that they do not know that we live under the biggest sophisticated propaganda machine on the planet. So, of course they are to listen to INFLUENCERS & misleading professionals. instead common sense. I just did not want to say so earlier.
      Please, keep sharing, greatly appreciated

I’m a type 1 diabetic. 48 year old female. I have been in the last week trying to increase my butter intake to 1 stick per day. I’ve been doing the carnivore diet about a month. My blood sugars are all over the place! Maybe this explains why? I really don’t understand.

People claim that their blood ketones rise with eating lots of fat including butter, however, personally, when I started keto I had higher blood ketones but now that I’m fat adapted it’s lower and I really don’t worry about it anymore.

I've done carnivore high fat for about 8 years but my diabetes was getting worse and I couldn't figure out why. I had fatty liver. My cholesterol was high. I've gone from a type 2 diabetic to an adult on set type 1. I now eat psmf most days and my blood sugars have halved. My diabetic control is the best it's been in 20 years. I do eat high fat as my body does crave fat once or twice a week and yes my blood sugars do rise the next day. This is just high fat content in meat not any added fat. Just a higher fat content meat. My numbers do double up. My endo said my diabetes has been stable the last 6 months and yes I have to do lower fat like psmf regularly. I am slowly losing weight too. I hadn't noticed till I tried on a jacket I bought 6 years ago and could never wear as it was way too small but now I fit into it. I was losing my eyesight through retinopathy and early cataract bought on by diabetes but I've been told it will improve now. Thanx to you I am improving. It does work don't always believe the high fat carnivore influencers out there. Fat increases blood sugars. I got told to eat 200g in macros of butter and I did. What a fool I was. I got worse. High protein for me. Thank you to you both. Listen to these people........they know their stuff. You saved me..... Cannot thank you both enough.

There are thousands of studies that back the idea of overstuffed fat cells causing insulin resistance. This researcher is one of the tops:
      th-cam.com/video/zEBfwwpcTzU/w-d-xo.html
They aren't flashy with millions of TH-cam followers but they are doing the real research. We just try to disseminate the information in an easy to understand way.

    • @craigemmerich

Where does the fat you eat go? When you answer that is is clear than forcing a lot of fat in the diet is counter to weight loss goals.
      th-cam.com/video/HSxiZhe6gMQ/w-d-xo.html
And if the theory of insulin only driving weight gain was real, it would be impossible to gain weight on very low carb eating (carnivore). I can gain or lose 10 plus pounds fairly easily over holidays overdoing dairy. :)

Thank you! I am 66 and have dealt with Lyme disease and co-inhabitors for all my life! I understand salt and Electrolytes as I was almost to have a cardiac arrest do to sugar, sodium and potassium hitting the bottom! If only I knew about Carnivore years ago! My heart is so affected and I don't trust the medical at all! They just take and take leaving us with nothing including no answers if one has Lyme! God bless you for sharing

I feel confused...I feel like there is a confusion between glucose spikes and insulin spikes...they are not the same. My blood sugar goes up when I am low fat, high carb, but my fasting insulin starts to get very low (in a good way). Blood glucose meters do not measure insulin. Totally different readings.

This is why a reduced calorie plant based diet in conjunction with exercise is a better way to tackle diabetes, especially type 2.

    • @MariaEmmerich

How so? We have helped thousands of clients reverse their T2 diabetes, shrink their fat cells and improve their metabolic function with a well formulated, animal protein-based ketogenic or carnivore diet 🙏

@@MariaEmmerich Because, well at least for me, I have followed strict doctors orders with regards to insulin usage and reduced calorie diet and exercise. I just could not understand why I could not lose weight. However, when I changed my diet to plant based with exercise I started and still am losing weight. Can't wait to see real progress and drop many sizes to slim guy. So far I've lost 15 pounds. Can't wait till I lose more than 170 pounds. Everyone's case is unique.

Anyone will lose weight when they transition from a SAD to any whole food diet when a calorie deficit is maintained. Remember the guy who lost a ton of weight on the "Twinkie" diet? Doesn't mean it is sustainable or healthy. Carbohydrates are a non-essential nutrient. You do however need protein and healthy fats :)
