Hey guys! I just finished making my step-by-step process of building this kennel! I linked the document in the description if you would like to check it out!
What do you charge to sell something like this? It is absolutely stunning, perfect for a modern or rustic farmhouse feel. Good craftsmanship my friend, and God bless you.
Just came across your video. That is an awesome pooch pad and exactly what I was looking for to build for my two Aussie's! Not sure why the client left the rebar rusty but it still looks awesome! Keep up the good work! Subscribed :)
How did you secure the wood piece that covers the tray pull-out section? It is not clear how you secure the cover piece there. In the video, it appears to just be set in place but not secured. If that is the case then how does it not just fall off? Sorry if I missed it, but how large are the plastic trays that were used with this? Thanks
Hi!..I didn’t secure the wood piece for the trays..I just made it to where it would snugly fit in the slot so it couldn’t just fall out but with a little force it would come out!…and the trays were 47” X 29”.
Did you add any rust prevention on the rebar? Did you coat them at all to make them less harmful to a dog if there sitting there licking or chewing them?
Very nice build. Sub'd and looking forward to your videos. One question on the kennel. The small piece that is removable to take out the trays; how is it held in place? Just a friction fit, or magnets?
I believe it cost me around $200!..but that is with 2020 lumber prices (much higher than normal) so in normal circumstances it would be much less!..and no problem!..just trying to help anyone out that watches my video(s)!
I feel like I tend to undercharge things... but I have looked at similar ones that are about the same size and they usually go for anywhere from $1,300-$1,800!
Looks great, man, but good lord that’s a lot of pocket holes. You sure do love your pocket holes, huh? Wood glue wouldve been easier AND more durable on a lot of these pieces. Mainly the top.
Had so much hope for this video.. Measurements and directions are TRASH. Spent 3 weeks working on this, and when it finally came to assembling… NOTHING lines up! Absolutely frustrating. I have to start from scratch. Talk about a waste of time and money..

@@davidcarter2368 thanks so much! That means a lot! It mainly depends on the size of the piece, but I’d say anywhere from $1,300-$1,800 or so!
@@gagejohnson Ty sir! I can't believe you don't have 100k subs. Super helpful and you do excellent work!
@@davidcarter2368 no problem!…and thank you! I hope I can make it there some day!
What an awesome job! You are a very clever young man.😊
Watched quite a few tutorials and yours is my favorite. Well done and thanks for the detailed plans.
Nice! I like the overall build and way you constructed it
Awesome idea to be able to remove the floor liner
Glad you like it!
@@gagejohnson did you lock the removable section so the dogs cant push it out?
@@robertconley4437 I didn’t..I contemplated doing something for it, but I just made it fit pretty snug so that it couldn’t be knocked out easily!

How much would something like this sell for?
Did you add any rust prevention on the rebar? Did you coat them at all to make them less harmful to a dog if there sitting there licking or chewing them?
I didn’t…The person I built this for said nothing on then would be fine
What's the exact wood stain you use and brand of wood stain ?? And love your work... new subscriber here
I used Minwax brand stain and the color for this was cappuccino! Thanks for the sub..glad you liked it!
Nice build 👍
Great video. Any idea how many hours of labor youve dedicated to this?
I’m not really sure because I would just work on it a few hours on a few days of the week!
Do you think I would be able to put a 55 gallon fish tank on top of it?
Yes, I think that it would be able to support something like that
Great thanks for the feedback. Looking to build one soon!
Hi, where do I find the plans pls
You should be able to find them in the description!
What wood did you use
Just common boards from my local hardware store..so I’m going to say spruce/pine wood!
What size of screws did you use
I believe that I used 2-2.5” screws!
What are the dimensions of the kennel when finished??
Check the step by step document I put in the description..it has them there!
Where did you get the trays?
The person I built this for already had them so I’m not positive where they came from
Very nice build. Sub'd and looking forward to your videos. One question on the kennel. The small piece that is removable to take out the trays; how is it held in place? Just a friction fit, or magnets?
Really glad you liked the video! I just used a friction fit for them.
How much did it cost you to build? Thanks for linking instructions!

@@gagejohnson thanks! Did you cut the rebar yourself or did the box store/lumber yard cut it for you?
@@tarynobrien3391 the person that I was building it for worked somewhere that had a lot of rebar so he cut them for me
I would love to buy one from you or if anyone else can make me. One

Hmm..I’m not sure why you can’t..I double checked to make sure and that’s the user..so I’m not really sure!
That rebar is mad rusty.
Yep..the client wanted it to stay like that
It’s a dual DOG CRATE ........not a kennel.
