    Nice job, especially for us that do not have all the fancy tools!

    Great video and clear instructions. best part was the measurements provided by one of the users in comments. Took me around 3-4 hours consolidated time including travel time and the cuts and paint .
    Pretty pleased with outcome.

    I saw a few asking for measurements and I don't see any here. This is what I figured for my kennel:
    Kennel size: ~31"Lx20"Wx21"H
    *note: these are exact board measurements. I know 1x4's are not really 4" wide but I used leftover wood-textured trim for mine and these are the exact sizes of boards I used*
    Cut 4-1x3 1/2" boards at 22.5" for corner sides
    Cut 4-1x2 1/2" boards at 22.5" for corner sides
    Cut 4-1x2 1/2" boards at 33.5" for box top and bottom long edges (max size board for the front door to open)
    Cut 4-1x2 1/2" boards at 21.5" for box top and bottom short side edges (max size board for the door to open)
    Cut 3/4" plywood or MDF wood at 36"x25" which gives a 1" overhang on all sides. If you want it on three sides only to sit flush against the wall, cut it at 36"x24"
    Your choice of edging to go around the top
    I actually used extra trim from my house for my cover so you'll have to make sure if you use regular boards it will be the same size. My trim is 3/4" thick and I happened to just have enough to make the cover! LOL! The top I made flush with the back instead of doing a 1" overhang all around and it sits well against my wall. It was fast to build and can be done by a beginner as long as they watch the video closely so they know which sides the wider boards go on. It looks great! Thank you for your video!

    I built something almost identical. But I left the bottom board off on the door end so I can pull the tray out if needed. Is that something you considered? I used birch for the top, what did you use?

    • @kramerdesignco
      @kramerdesignco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I used maple. I thought about that but didn't want to disrupt the symmetry. It's very easy to lift off the unit to clean tray if need be.

    What’s that adapter you put on your drill to make those pilot holes bigger?

    • @kramerdesignco
      @kramerdesignco  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a countersink drill bit.

    Could you use different size boards if you don’t have a table saw?

    • @kramerdesignco
      @kramerdesignco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course! You will just have to make sure there is clearance for the door to swing freely.

    How wide did you cut the wood for the frame?

    • @kramerdesignco
      @kramerdesignco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The width is determined by the kennel. In this situation I believe it was 20".

  • @MikasaAckerman-hs9zu

    Home Depot will cut the wood if you provide measurements
