With scraps and basically and internet double dare Jimmy again makes something cooler than I can dream of. I’m simultaneously inspired and contemplating quitting, it’s confusing. Love what you do, Jimmy.
I have got to watch more of your videos. Everything about this process was simplistic genius. From the aluminium cutting jig for sawing the angles, to the locking mechanism, to the fact that it took me a full 4 minutes to realise you weren't just reinforcing the corners, you were actually doing the lid. Man, you should have rails around you, like a national treasure...
Fabulous how scrap becomes a thing of beauty with the right hands upon it & the lid adds just the right amount of mystery to how to open it. Thanks for sharing!
Great results! I love how its built up of small steps, just like everything else, even though it looks really complex. Push pin clamps are cool. I expect to see giant size ones in the future.
Bought materials for a box a while ago but haven't gotten around to starting building, this is a great inspiration, so now I just got to get some contrasting wood and the build can start.
Nice piece of work Jimmy. You and the other master craftsman inspired me to do a scrap wood challenge video of my own recently. I got some flack for getting sawdust on my machines, but it was worth it. Stay well.
When I hit play "Scrap wood keep safe box, how interesting can this even be?!" 1 minute in, pauses video so I can get my notebook and follow along so I can make it. Excellent as always JD!
I don’t know why I never think of flipping my saw guard up like that. I always switch over to the little shark fin riving knife, which may be unnecessary in many cases. 👍🏻

I have never seen a latching style like that. So cool 👍🏻

LOVE scrap wood projects. Makes me feel better about myself for keeping bits of wood around.
me too !
Very nice and brilliant design. I love the novel closing method. Thank you for sharing.
Love this piece - Just do it! No fancy stuff - just DOING it. Better than sitting around watching somebody else having all the fun.
Brings about a pacyfing sensation.
Cheers from Gdańsk, Poland.

A beautiful box that anyone could make with simple tools.
Genius at work. Always a pleasure watching these and seeing what you come up with. Amazing!
Not a jewelry box. Another piece of jewelry. Such artistry!
I love your ideas! Thanks and stay safe Jimmy!
The box is gorgeous, and I really love the locking lid.
You really are a clever, clever bastard Jimmy. Love watching you work.
It's great to see a small woodworking project. The twist top is just the reason why I and so many others enjoy your movies.
Inspired, I'm off to the garage this rainy morning to make something from scraps. Thanks Jimmy!
I always look forward to a video. I was intrigued by what you were doing with the lid. Everything can be crafted into something else; Thanks Jimmy.
Classic Diresta.
Clearly that box is magic!
Absolutely love the glue in the syringe technique. Thanks Jimmy! Looks great!
Any day I can watch a DiResta video before work is going to be a good day!
The lid comes alive after you coat and wax it. Great looking project.
That's awesome. The latch, the design, the way you make it look effortless. Wow
Not only a cool and beautiful box, but it's also magic!

Jimmy, just keep on keeping on,the lid latch is priceless.😁
He should slice the box in half to make a traditional hinged lid and make the twist lid function as a false top for hiding valuables.
Absolutely gorgeous, great addition to the Maker's Mob challenge! I feel like this is something practical and attainable
That was crazy! I love it. That takes 1 hell of an imagination.
Using that syringe for glue is an incredible idea! I learned so much from this build.
Every stamp of yours justifies itself No artists like you dear Jimmy, lots of love from Israel.
Awesome as always, Jimmy.
Um... that closure mechanism blew my socks off. Seriously amazing, as per usual!
So very cool jimmy. Years ago when I was on lumberjocks several of us would always try and make different style boxes. It can be much fun.
Jimmy making awesome boxes and making it look effortlessly, while doing so.
Once I get the space, materials and tools this is definitely something I want to make. Especially for dice storage.

First time I watched Diresta while sipping moonshine. It added a whole new level to my incompetence and his genius. Was great! Thumbs up!
A box is obvious enough, but that latch mechanism? Did not see that coming! That's what makes a Classic Diresta build 👍🏻 Nice work Jim!

Dude you have outdone yourself once again!!, Very nice work sir!!
Hey Jimmy! That box uses the ol' "righty loosey, lefty tighty" convention. Nice.
Nice work. Brace bits deserve a nice box like that to live in.
Exllancent work uncle . I like it's finishing 😀😘
I guess that's where you keep the precious stuff in the shop, like the 10mm sockets. Nice work on that one.
