Every time I watch this video I pick up another useful tip... My woodworking skills have increased exponentially since I subscribes to your channel. I took one of my boxes inspired by this video to an interview at Glasgow Clyde College for their string instrument making course... Been offered a place... Thanks Adrian I owe you.
That perfect pairing of the music and router whine from 5:12 is truly satisfying. It’s like that sound was made for the music. Beautiful video and craftsmanship, Adrian!
Super video. Beautiful boxes and excellent workmanship. The contrasting woods really made these boxes pop. Thanks for sharing your ideas and obvious skills. Best wishes.
Thanks Adrian this is an excellent video ...really like the way you cut the box / lid joint. I don't know how many boxes I've destroyed trying to cut all the way through on a table saw with wedges to support the last cut. Can't wait to try out your method...Thanks
Very nice work. Would be interested in seeing more details regarding your shooting board set up for accurate 45 degree miters. Better than a miter box?
Beautiful work- I could watch you creating your art anytime! That weird shaped saw is something I've never seen before, and the way you hand tool each box is inspiring. Thank you for sharing this process with us! Instant subscriber & bell tapper!
Thanks! That s a japanesw saw called azebiki, intended for cutting grooves, long slots etc, you can start the cut from the middle of the board, maybe is somehow similar to the western veneer saw
Really enjoying your videos. I looked for the mini circular saw router bit (used to start the cut of the box lids) in your tools list, but couldn’t find it. Can you please share the brand?
Love the video. Is that spline jig just 2x4s sandwiched and 45d at the end? I like the idea using the router and a slot cutter to open the box and do the splines.
What kind of saw is it that you use to cut the box lid at 7:30 ? Would you recommend this style of saw over other styles of pull saws? Is it specialized for this task somehow? Thank you!
Hi! I just ran accross this video and would love to know what that router bit is? Also, how come you used that specific saw around 7:45 instead of another type? What's special about that saw?
Fabulous build! As a newby, can you help me to understand how you measure the inside pieces to help secure the top (8:18) And really appreciate any advice, thank you!
Thanks for sharing Adrian, your work is for real wonderful and inspiring. You are a great craftsman, thank you again. A dumb question, which is the bite you use in the router for making the holes in the corners?
I have a bit like this for cutting t-molding slots for arcade machines. For the U.S. viewers, 1.6mm is similar to 1/16". The slot cutting head requires an arbor. Great video!
Wonderful. This is now my favorite box-making video on YT. Thank you. I love your use of slot cutting router bits to make corner splines and to part off the box tops. It seems much safer than using the table saw. Is that a 1/8" slot cutting router bit that you used, please? What make/brand? Thank you.
Hey Adrian, nice build! If you see this comment, could you tell me if you have any plans to that mitre shooting board or a video to it? Very much appreciated, thanks!
4 yrs old and somehow I have missed this ,this video is a gem ! Thanks for spilling your guts !
Cheers

Beautiful boxes with a touch of class with the wood shavings in each box
Fantastic video. Beautiful boxes.
I've never considered tapering the sides of a box like that - very cool!
Those are some beautiful looking boxes. Your workmanship is top notch.

A dumb question, which is the bite you use in the router for making the holes in the corners?
Thanks Ricardo! It's a Klein 1.6mm, don't remember the code. I will post these days on my IG some pics and vids with the whole setup
