- Cape Town, South Africa, is the most beautiful city I have been to on my trip. No matter where you are staying in Cape Town, you will be able to have an amazing view on the landscape, including Lions Head, Table Mountain and the Ocean. Also, for first time visitors to Africa, South Africa is an easy place to start, as it is a very modern country, but still affordable and cheap and most people are using English. you can explore many things in Cape Town, hike Table Mountain, drive to Boulders beach, or visit one of the other beautiful beaches. You can explore Franschoek and it’s surroundings, and join a wine tasting! Or you can learn about South Africas history in one of the many museums. On top of that, you got a good selection of restaurants and coffee shops, to dine out and good Wifi in most places as well. The area I was staying in, seemed quit safe to me, I would however, recommend to be a little careful when walking around. Nevertheless, many places in the city centre are in walking distance. It is also super easy to take a bus or get an Uber. With this video, I intend to give you a first impression of this beautiful city, show you some of the lesser known places and give you as much information about Cape Town, as I possibly can.

Being South African I'll tell you this for free: South Africa in December is a party everyday everywhere. If you want to really enjoy places like Cape Town and actually do activities without crowds come anytime between January and April or September and November
Good to know. But I was't able to change that. I am travelling around the world and cannot time my trips that well. "The closest country is next" obviously, no matter at which time. :) And I really really enjoyed my time in Cape Town!!

So you mentioned you were on a budget. You could have hiked up table mountain. It takes about 2 hours. Lions had is an easier shorter hike but also had amazing late afternoon views.
Yeah 😊✨ I'm not very strong. And I don't have the right shoes etc for hiking. At some point maybe 🥹
@@tinahuegelYes, it would need enough time more than the right shoes, for your shoes looked fine: it's a paved stairway up to the paved footpaths on top, etc.
But..., those penguins! There is another penguin colony in the Cape besides Boulders Beach, at Betty's Bay, which is a bit quieter too.
Glad you had a great time in Cape Town. I live in Johannesburg and avoid going to Cape Town during the December holidays - there are too many people there. You visited South Africa at a good time: it was summer and load shedding was suspended through most of December so you would not have experienced it at all.
You mentioned that you're on a budget, so I think I should let your viewers know that there are a ton more things to do! The City Sightseeing tour bus is a great way to see most of Cape Town for cheaply. You can hop on and off wherever you please. I've done paragliding, took a boat trip to Robben Island, hiking, swam with sharks...lots of other activities.
I could have mentioned more things maybe. But there are also lots of other videos that show you other places :) But I talked about the sightseeing bus about twice :)
But yeah, I want to see more places in Cape Town!! ✨ It's a beautiful city!!

The water mightve been off due to a water pipe burst. I remember the new year starting out with no water due to a pipe burst in Wynberg. I live in Tokai and was without water for days. We had to collect water from water trucks. A lot of areas were affected. Ever since that specific pipe burst, this year has had a few more pipe bursts happen which is unusual. It has nothing to do with loadshedding :)
I know it's not related to load shedding :) obviously. It just reminded me of that topic you know?
Must be so frustrating to have no water for so long. 😫
I like cape town so much but when I decided to visit it , I've seen alot of comments saying it not safe special at evening then I decide to cancel it , what do think tina !
It's safe. It's absolutely safe. Don't cancel your trips bc of what others say. Do some research and prepare your trip and then your fine. And then again... Cape Towns safe! Things can happen in absolutely any country.

Is it safe to go on the bus as a tourist? I've read in a lot places that it's best to avoid public transport. Is that true or just paranoia?
It's safe. Cape Town is in general very safe, BUT you need to be careful no matter where you are. For example, don't go alone at night, be careful in certain areas, do some research on which places to avoid etc. Goes for every city. 😊And there are tourist buses in Cape Town that will definitely be safe.
@tinahuegel thank you 💜 I would rather not uber everywhere if it's safe to use the city buses in the day. Did you feel safe in Bo Kaap? There was a video advising not to go alone.
@@justanotherchick2701 Yes, as I mentioned. It's safe :) Yes, Bo Kaap was fine. In general, I felt safe in Cape Town. It's a beautiful city. Try to stay connected to people, tell people where you go, have your phone with you just in case (but keep it in your bag in public places). In Bo Kaap you will see other tourists as well.
