This video made me realise that despite everything. Our country has so much beautiful diversity in people, food and cultures. And ordinary people love and respect each other
well said, thank you
so beautiful
Your country is great and beautiful. ❤
True. I'm learning from tourists to appreciate and experience what my country has to offer.
Not sure what I'm enjoying more: The sight of the food or everyone's friendly smiles.
Both it is a great city with great people making great food
Cape Town nickname is also known as the mother city cause of the friendly people
@@warrenmoses7370 I always thought it was called that because it was the first city in the country. Well, the first place settled in by the colonisers.
@@warrenmoses7370 thanks
Oohhhhh as a South African expat my mouth is salivating! I’m coming home!
I'm from Cape town born and raised and to be honest I take for granted the awesome things we have here. Like our flora and fauna is gorgeous, our sights that u can see r breathe taking and most important our food is lekker
It is a dream destination, and has it all
is it expensive to live in Cape town
@@humansrtrash324 you can live cheap, or expensive
@@BryanDiscoversWorld oh ok thanks for the reply 🥰

Thank you for showing me food places in Cape town which I didn't know exist ❤
My pleasure 😊
Hi guys, I love how you paint my hometown so beautifully vibrant and colourful. You were in Bokaap and there would've found the best rooti, curries, koesisters, bollas and much more traditional Cape Malay foods . You must definitely try a gatsby. Its tooo die for. Thanks again. From ñ Kaapie (Capetonion)
thank you so much, we will have to try all the Bokaap foods, and a gatsby
Love you guys! You make me smile when I see your warm and positive vibes about my home! Thumbs up 👍

Hi Guys! I am loving this idea! Just because the overseas people comes to SA and only shows some ideas of SA. Never all these places. In short, you guys are showing these overseas people where to go and how aweomse SA food is! And not only the 2 or 3 places in SA where good food is, But everywhere!!! Love you guys, and love the idea!

Brian your productions are badass! 👍🏽
I appreciate that! Thanks
Loving this video! The butter chicken roti is defo my favourite! I live on the outskirts of Cape Town in Wellington (Winelands) and any kind of curry is very scarce here - and I miss and love curry so much! 🙂 Great video guys, a true depiction of SA cuisine!
Thank you so much, and you need to visit the City, there is a lot of good curry here
Where is curry scarce, not in wellington
You are such a great happy couple. Really enjoyed your street food adventure. We will be in Cape Town for the first time for just 3 days and now I know where we are eating. So pleased we came across your channel, You make me smile when I see your warm and positive vibes. Thank you.

Love this video. Perhaps you should do the Great Masala Steak Gatsby a try when you come again. You won't regret it.❤

Brilliant video. I'm Capetonian and love food!!! You've visited most of my favorite joints and ate most of my favorite foods! I only found out a few years ago that Capetonians are spoiled for choice when it comes to good food! I need to try that butter chicken roti in Seapoint! I always just end up getting ferrero rocher icecream from Icezit there. Best icecream ever!!!
Awesome! Thank you! and try the roti it is great
New subscriber!lovely Chanel guys🇿🇦

Excellent video
Thank you so much!
You are a tourist dream team sharing informative and interesting information. The video editing is seamless and the choice of music had me tapping my feet. Well done Bryan and Riki.
Thank you so much
I'm misses CAPE Town a lovely friendly place on 🌎 earth thanks you lovely food too
you are welcome
The sad reality of this is most locals never eat at any of those places, its insanely expensive and essentially only exists for tourists especially mojo market.
It is sad
We locals love to cook, and we make our own fish and chips, butter chicken, braaivleis, potjie kos, koeksisters, samoosas etc...even Gatsbys I bet it taste the same or even better on the Cape Flats. There was nothing like Aunty Aziza's koeksisters on a Sunday morning. She is no longer with us but brings back childhood memories since the 80 s. I love my people and my city, Allison.😂
Most beautiful places with friendliest people of all races
So true, thanks
Great video
Thank you
MY HOME TOWN!👍🇿🇦🇬🇧🇿🇦🇬🇧🇿🇦🇬🇧 EVENTUALLY RETURN!👍👍👍

Thanks, we will
what a cool video! my wife is from philippines! glad you got to enjoy it! thank you guys! really cool .
It was really good food, with great flavour. Thanks
I wish to visit Cape town before I turn 50years😢I'm staying in Pretoria
You must visit
R20 a koesister, gets worse as the video goes on, holy bejzus! 🤣 for fried dough!!
Now we have found then for R6
Those fish and chips look way tastier than the ones we get in England these days. Made me hungry.
There are really good
Come visit! We will be happy to have you guys here!👏👏 Book early as most accommodation is going fast 💃💃
I LOVE CAPE TOWN ♥ AND THE FISH AND CHIPS SO YUMMY
They are the best
R42 a slice, they must really believe they're in NY! 🤣 😂
hahaha, it was quite big
13.42.........going for the Weins there or what?? Also those rootis are tasty but disappointingly they are not properly rolled and tucked so all the filling falls out when you eat it as is evident in your clip. The Cape Malays make fantastic food though, that's not even up for debate! I know you are a food channel but you missed out on a Cape Town phenomenon that is sliding under the radar at the present and that is one man coffee businesses that have been popping up since COVID, there are quite a few but the one I can really recommend you will find daily at the Ronderbosch Common from the crack of dawn till about 9.30-10. On the mountain side of the common by the parking lot, you cant miss him! Really good coffee, decent prices, friendly service and we talking about a guy who literally pulled himself out the mud and started a successful business doing what he loves! I will always support that kind of business. Thanks for the vid, keep up the great work man!
Thank you for the great comment. I will look into the 'one man coffee" idea, it sounds like a great idea for a video. thanks.
you should have ordered the chicken tikka from Ahmads in Bokaap and gotten a boerewors roll from the lady in Church Street just off Greenmarket Square
Thanks for the suggestion, I will next time for sure, thanks
Hi there! May I ask what camera and phone you used to record? Thanks!
Samsung S22 Ultra
Hi guys .
I was in Cape Town last week, and it was freezing. How long ago you made this video? You both are in summer clothes. Brrrrr Have you visited Cape Point? I don't know how long you will be there but try visiting Franschhoek, and the magnificent food gardens at Babylonstoren, Constantia for wine tasting, and Kalk Bay.
So much to do and see.
Did you enjoy the chicken pita souvlaki? I'm asking you because I'm Greek. :)
Have fun.
Regards
Rori
The Greek pita, (he called it a gyro) was awesome. The video was recorded on some of the few sunny days we had, but it's all jackets now. We are planning to explore more of Cape Town and surrounds as we are staying for about 6 months. Thanks for the great comment and suggestions
@@BryanDiscoversWorld the authentic pita yero is made with meat usually pork or lamb. Chicken is,also good. Hope to visit one day the Greek Islands. I can promise you that you will be eating souvlaki every day. I make them often for my family including the pita bread.
Stay warm and safe .
I've been going to Cape Town for years and several times in a year and and still I've not seen so many places.
Six months stay? Wonderful. I'm moving there soon, hopefully before the end of the year.
I was last week in Cape Town and I went to The scone Shack which is a farm surrounded by mountains and is located off the grid in Cape Point. I never have eaten the kind of scones they make there with homemade jam. Yummy 😋
@@rorimullinos4017 Thanks
Man you mention Franschhoek.......but then say Constantia for wine??? No man! Constantia has great wines but Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are the real gems.
So excited to try all of the different foods cape town has to offer! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hope you enjoy!
My home town too
It is a great place to come from
Awez This is some of the Best street food ive seen in 🇿🇦💯🤞
thank you it was good
Asome. Are you guys going back to mauritius
at the moment we are enjoying Cape Town
Hi Brian how long are you in south africa
Not sure but at least 6 months
Mad to pay R20 for a koeksister they're normally R5 or R6
yip, we found out later
@BryanDiscoversWorld great to see you enjoying the city's food though
I agree with you koeksisters is expensive price is to much it was R5 or R6
how did you not do Eastern Food Bazaar?
We found it later
The old biscuit mill is the biggest rip off for food in Cape Town . Outrageously expensive for small portions. The pizza there has to be the most expensive I have ever come across in South Africa
I haven't tried their pizza, but I will avoid it now, thanks
agreed, wow! this is why i stay in the northern suburbs, lmao!
This video got me hungry as hell
cool
Naa basted is nuts for those prices mate.... The chicken thingi was R60
ok, thanks
Where is Malay Delight kiosk?
Seapoint promenade
Just a bit confused with the pricing from rand to dollar it just doesn't ad up ....
I did it when the Rand was fluctuating
I also had that grill at Mojo's Market recently and t was really bland. 🤨 Go for the Mexican food.
ok, thanks
The supposed boerewors they sell is anything but, and surely don't meet the legal requirement for ingredients - nor the taste of real wors.
Yip
Sadly, nowhere is traditional Cape food sold in Cape Town. Tourists may never know, and the neo-potjie culture is a deviation as well. We are losing a national heritage here, do people realise?
@@unwoke1652 It would be nice to see some real traditional foods
This video made me realize im under charging for koeksisters at 4 for r25...the same size..😢
yes
Do you pay cash for street food or can you pay with cards?
most place only accept cards now, but on the street cash is still ok
Most south africans dont carry cash around, we tap and pay with card, or scan and pay with phone
Nou waa die masala steak Gatsby dan
Iconic foods th-cam.com/video/QaMagual6fk/w-d-xo.html
Bo kaap
I will try
What is bowkaap? It's pronounced Boor without the R sound. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, I will try that next time
Bo Kaap..
@@BryanDiscoversWorld Thanks! I hope it did not come across harshly and I know you probably knew that pronunciation already. It is almost the same as the word 'moor', but with no rolling of the R.
@@ricthechamp4 Thanks, I know I am bad at pronouncing some words, but I will try.
Please reduce the background music,it tends to be too loud to even hear when you speak
Ok, thanks for that
don't know why all the foreigners decide to try all the wrong food prepared by the wrong people. at least you got the fish and chips right. you should return to South Africa and get somebody to take you to all the authentic eatery's., sorry you had to experience this kind of food.
we will try a few more places, thanks
Nice video but makes me think, yoh how much can you guys eat in 1 day 🙈
not much. this was filmed over a few days
@@BryanDiscoversWorld my bad 🤣 to be honest i think I could have eaten Atleast half of everything u guys ate in a day 🤣
@@joeashnaidoo5077 haha 🤣 That I would like to see 🤣🤣🤣
@@BryanDiscoversWorld when you come to durban I'll show you 🤣
I’m from Cape Town : Kevin Afrikaans enjoy your food
Great place to be from
Ek bly Daar,in noord wes potssestroom
cool
Gatsby?
Good choice
The roll was off in the first clip 🙂
ok, thanks
Dude the Malays know their food 😯
what load of crap, everything is just curry this and that.
for sure
They tried to make NY pizza but let’s be honest here. That’s a big Debonairs pizza 😂😂💀
haha, maybe
Boo Kaap wont have real boerwors, which would have beef and pork, they would have a braai wors.which is just beef!
Thanks for the info
Muriel's is the best
It is really good
i am sorry that is not a proper boerewors roll.
ok,
Any of these foods would be triple or quadruple the price here in Canada. Thanks due to Trudeau.
sorry, they are so tasty
😋😋@@BryanDiscoversWorld
@@rocco... South Africa has the 2nd lowest cost of living in world, even south africans earning minimum wage eat well.
@@KalelX5296 Quality of food here has gone to the dogs in the last 15-20 years. The prices have tripled in the last 5-6 years. Yet again G20's colours are shining bright!
Wow! You got ripped off for the pizza mate.
Really, ok
Its not Bo Kaap like Bo Brady its more like Boo Ghost
Thanks
rip off prices, tourist traps all over! 😮
yip
Bo kaap...lol. not the correct way to say it...nut love d your vid😅
Yip, I need practice haha, Thanks
Those cooks are no Cape Malay. The area is Cape Malay.
Ok, thanks
Don't feed the birds chips!!!!
ok, thanks
Most Popular Street Food in Cape Town and not one Gatsby? Bruh...
yip we are going to do a real Gatsby video soon.
gatsby is not street food, street food is literally food made on the street, not in a shop
@@The_Angry_BeEconomist everything in this video was made in a restaurant/take away. The only thing that was sort of street food like was the wors roll and even then it was a pathetic attempt at one
@@chefbob09 yes and they mention that as qualifiers if you take note of what they say
I live in Cape Town, and I have no idea what you are talking about... Street food is not a thing here AT ALL (and I wish it was). Sure, you can find a handful of stalls that sell food, but they are very few and far between... and not at all comparable to other countries.
That's very true.
Most of the street food has moved indoors, maybe a sign of the time, but I am hoping true "on the streets food" will come here
Lol but he successfully showed you all kinds of streets food different is they are not sold on the streets but mostly in markets and that doesnt change fact that they are street food…
@@ScissorN Thank you that is what I wanted to show.
Where are you from? 😊🇿🇦
The Cape Town people really know about tasty food...i like their food .....but they too far from me....
It is good
Today i bought typical Cape Town routie here in my town...hmmm
NY pizza in an electrical oven 👎
yes
R42 a slice no less! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
