Overwhelming. One of the finest guitarists. Congratulations Xavier! What a pleasure to listen to you. Coming from your recent video In the Woods (Takemitsu). Great work!
Rémi Jousselme A wonderful musician congratulating another wonderful musician over the ocean. Sometimes technology brings beautiful pieces or humanity. Thank you for your both Work on This so beloved instrument.
feels like i've basically watched this kid grow up, and man, there's a lot of musical maturity in his playing and some really killer legato playing. One of my favorite players for sure.
The P71.... I keep listening to it over and over. That Dowland dude! And... I wonder who made that guitar. She sounds like an organ, and takes at least half of the credits for this great musical performance.
It's the right hand position that is not at all Segovia, traditional style. Wrist bent away from neck instead of towards. Totally different angle for the fingers and nails. Why he can get such a range of tones, simply by moving away/towards the bridge without altering that angle. Wish they would have taught that 40 years ago.
Hi Xavier....who on earth is your teacher?...he's done an outstanding job....granted, you obviously love and live the music...but I can't help thinking there must be a great teacher behind this beautiful playing
1. Fantasies P5 & P71 - John Dowland 0:00 , 2:45
2. Sonata K53 in D Major - Domenico Scarlatti 9:25
3. Labyrinth - Stephen Goss 12:45
4. Dreams - Sergio Assad 19:30
5. Sonata N.3 - Dusan Bogdanovic 22:50
Your playing is always breathtaking. I can't wait for you to come to Brownsville TX on your GFA tour.

your p71 is unmatched… if only Dowland himself could be there to listen and play….
16:05 quotation from Beethoven's Hammerklavier!

Is it just me or does the first section of labyrinth (12:45) sound like Debussy's Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum
the movement calls Gradus ad Parnassum
Nice!

Hugo Cuvilliez

Hey Xavier Jara,
I like your style, you should add more Flamenco stuff to your repertoire.
Guitar held like a "shotgun." The ill-considered straight RH wrist. It's called Tarrega/Segovia. Look into it.
he makes me very uncomfortable to watch
