Philippe Pierlot + Jordi Savall - duet from heaven. These two greats are telling the true story of baroque - the deep feeling behind formal grandeur and convolute structure of baroque style and sensibility. As true masters they are after the depth of the feeling and moving affect of the beaty that resides in this material. French baroque repertoire is a reflection of its originators and is elusive and moody in its nature - but the tremulouse lyricism and melancholic pensive mood are the treasure trove of sonic beauty and atmospere... Merci, merci, merci...
Wow, so beautiful, takes you right back into these times. With this kind of music I always imagine the people and surroundings where it was most probably played. Big thank you for this pleasure. 😊❤

Can anyone help me, please ? Last year I heard an aria sung by Jordi from one of his CD's and was composed to celebrate the wedding between members of the Spanish/Portuguese royal families. It was stunningly beautiful and was of about eight minutes duration. Unfortunately, I have lost my notes so would really appreciate your help !! - Brian.

Listened to this marvelous program just two days prior, at Carnegie Hall (Zankel Hall), following the day of their performance of Madrigals of Love and War - just on the verge of Putin's attack on Ukraine. Chilling. What a memory!
I don't think that Rolf Lislevand would like the mix. He is barely audible. Always lutenists/theorbists are discriminated. Of course the sound engineer has to volume them up cause they are always the quietests instruments in the band.
@@lesterarbusto3535 yeah but why wear them at all? If for the vast majority of the concert they're not going to wear them at all what is the point of wearing them for 5 seconds as they walk onto the stage.
Was looking forward to watching this. Turned it off as soon as the musicians walked in masked. Shame on whomever enabled the clowns responsible for such nonsense.

For Baroque music, there is no one better than Jordi Savall IMHO. Hesperion XXI is excellent!
Unbelievable that there are empty seats! Could only dream of being in that audience.
people must have not showed up because I was on the ticket waitlist for this show!
Covid?
Effectivement INCROYABLE !!! J’aurais tellement voulu assister à ce concert … mais j’habite loin de Versailles.
Same!!
I was thinking that!
Jordi Savall and Co are my favorite performers hands down. They bring the music to life in the most exquisite way. Thanks for the beautiful video.

Lislevand is SO TALL....have only see him perform sitting down. What a marvelous concert! And maestro Savall w a tassel on his viol!
MERCI Maître ❤ pour le BONHEUR Musical que vous apportez🤗
Et il est toujours là le gars !!!! Longue vie !!
They had great music in the past 🙂 !!!

I don't get wearing masks to their chairs then taking them off, they still are around each other.
