Wow great lesson. It sucks that we have companies that do improper installations. I had a new compressor installed and evap coil. They forgot to install the metering orifice device and the compressor ran for 3 months with out the metering orifice. The old evap coil had a TXV valve. They should have installed a TXV valve not a fixed orifice. My new system is so screwed up now. The tech installed the missing orifice by opening the line and he did not evac the system and just added freon. I am going to demand they replace everything.
Youre awesome at what you do Ty. I bet you could teach this 42 year old autistic person to do hvac youre that good. (i can be tough to teach). But i do learn well. all love. Youre a pure soul.
Thanks! Autistic people do really well because of their general attention to detail. HVAC has a lot of details and career paths. I can be tough to teach myself. Many times its easier for me to learn on my own with resources. It takes me a while sometimes but once I understand it, I have it forever. ADHD is my superpower. I appreciate the kind words!

Hello TY, need your input on a issue. I have my home AC pumping down when in heat mode. What is causing this ? Im not sure and don’t want ro start changing parts i dont need too. Thanks in advance.. AC model Payne PH3ANA036-C

Are there upgrade kits to replace the piston for a direct txv replacement?
Yes, almost every manufacture makes a TXV upgrade kit. There are also universal kits too!

Sounds like the indoor check valve is stuck closed
