    Now, that's what I call A Test! Great job, very professionally done. And the results are surprising; I thought that effectivness will be in this order: HPA, spring powered, aeg and gbb in the last place.

      Yeah, I was surprised myself when doing the analysis. Don't know if the effect would be the same or at least similar on different setups - but at least, the testing opened my eyes for the huge potential of silencers in airsoft. Thank you very much for your comment, and as always: Have a good one!

    Very well done. Only if you had tested with a bigger silencer and better internals. I use those kitchen sponges in my novritsch suppressor and it's crazy how silent my replicas are when it's attached. Your video is well appreciated.

    I swear by the camera audio and my ears that AEG got silent! I was really surprised. I wanted the quietest gun I could build for the backyard plinking and I thought a MTW with silencer would be by far the quietest. But man I could barely hear that AGE from the targets view. Maybe an AEG wouldnt be all that bad.

    Sehr cooles Video, super Tests.
Naja mal gucken was mir da noch so einfällt.

    Take the half of the stuff you put in n to the silencer tube and make a space in between those rings, it will brake the sound better inside and make it much quainter.

    Great video. I have just recently bought a silencer with acoustic grade foam inside and it is really quiet on all platforms. While your silencer performed well the material inside of it could have been improved giving you much better results.

    Common better suppresor materials are scotch bright pads and open cell foam, the closed cell foam you uses will help a little but doesn't allow any gas or noise to be absorbed. Soo it's more similar to a hallow tube xD still nice

    Im unsure why your suppressor is not particularly quiet. My suppressed MTW has shot next to people and they dont notice it. I use dense foam of alternating sizes through out. Its possible with the closed cell foam and metal spring your using, your not getting a good suppression effect (this would affect all the guns tested).

      In my eyes / ears, the results of my silencer are not that bad, and actually measureable on the scale. However, as my aim was not to build the best silencer ever, but just to compare the effect on the different systems, I think this has been achieved. There are many great variants of silencers out ther which for sure do perfom better than mine - but will the difference between the four platforms will be similar or different on those? Thats the next question ;) Have a good one!

  • @Fruffles71

    The foam you got in there is pretty dense. i would try a softer, more spongy foam that hpa one would be silent. Great video though 👌

    • @rummbolt

      For sure there can be other variants of materials, silencer diameter or length, or other functionalities such as the "fart flap" method, that may work better than mine - but I see no hint why the difference between the four Airsoft systems should change by a different material? Feel free to correct me here, all very experimental stuff in my eyes :) Have a good one, and thanks for your comment!

    I noticed the foam you were using is kinda plastic like, I’ve used similar before and it’s not the best material. You should try this again with some different foam inserts and see if there’s some improvement. I would recommend something more porous to absorb more air flow especially on the GBB if it’s over gassing.

      @@rummbolt hrs right. The air isn't being stopped by much. I make airsoft suppressors, I've tried many different types of materials.
      Suppressor diameters and lengths. Foam only, baffles only, baffles and foam.
      Also,to truly test an eug I wrap the Rif in a thick duvet so the gearbox noise isn't bei g measured.
      Over voluming of a cylinder vs inner barrel also effects each rif seperatly.
      It would be great to see you try all I've mentioned.

    I’ve run different quality suppressors on gas, hpa, and electric guns… though mostly hpa and gas… they work amazingly on hpa guns like way more than your tests show… maybe the quality of foam or size of can?? And almost not at all on gas guns as most of the sound they make is coming out the action of the gun, at least I think…

    • @rummbolt

      To find out, we basically would have to compare all silencers out there, which will not be to manage. But I'm sure different silencers would bring up different amplitude readings, and also that the one I tested is not the most professional solution ever :)
