    Great video! Thank you for putting the effort in to make this, there is so much ambiguity with the real performance of different hop-up buckings, so it is great to finally get an objective comparison. Begadi does say it needs about 200-300 (not sure what exactly) break-in time. Did you take those into account?

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, I know they write it on their product pages.
      By shooting an entire mag down the range, I at least tried to break it in a little, but to be honest I never noticed a serious effect of breaking a bucking in - not in the preperations for this video, and not in earlier project builds. Besides, the Begadi buckings performed quite well, so they did not really need a break-in period if you ask me. But: This actually would be worth one more video to find out. So many ideeeaas :D Have a good one!

    Rummbolt, great job on this testing! Super useful work that the community can benefit from.
    For your next test of this nature, I recommend you add also a chrono reading of a few shots after the hop up adjustment for the 20m and the 50m testing, as well as the hop setting number on the Neptun (and add that data to the summary table).
    I suspect it might provide some insight into the non intuitive result of some buckings performing great on 20m and poorly on 50m, and vice versa.
    Anyway, keep up the good work. Subscribed!

    Very good comparison test. Also your idea, of letting your shooting plattform be the same for all tests is very important. As you already said, your tensioner choice affects a lot of variables, including what kind of patch surface is being used.
    What i am trying to say is: If you would have used a flat tensioner, the MR-Style Hop Buckings would have been even better, than they where already. 😜
    They are just allways the way to go. Especially for outdoor play where .32g is the lighter end of BB weights.
    The idea is to have a big patch surface, so it can empart better spin on the BB while not loosing too much speed process. Problem is, you need a very even tensioner surface, every irregularity will make your BB hook left or right. The curved tensioner is one thing, but the way it sits in the HU is also important. To move, it needs clearence, clearence means that it can apply the hop, ever so slighty different.
    Again, what i am trying to say is: Your rifle is already shooting very well, but it coul be ever so sligthly better. 🤣

      Hi and thanks a lot for commenting :)
      I get all your points and agree 100%, the thing is when you prepare such a video, you have to choose for the best compromise setup (or what you think it could be, haha. You also learn a lot while doing so). A different tensioner + heavier BBs would for sure something to check out for the next video. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
      Have a good start to 2025, all the best!

    Hello again! I noticed youre reviewing my LC bucking! I must say, there must be an issue with your gun setup. At 20M i get a MAX 15cm grouping... And thats out of a DSG, not a DMR build. It is sensitive to what nozzle is used, and some nozzle will actively make the fun shoot very innacurate
    I personally use the Maxx M4E with the Square Mnub (orange squishy thing). It does not work well with metal concave nubs. I will try to get a shooting video as soon as possible, but its freezing outside.
    Also for future reference, its 65A durometer ;)

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey hey, nice to hear from you again :)
      The nozzle I used was from Epes i think, did you test with those before?
      Also considering tensioners, the aluminium Begadi one was just my attempt to find a compromise thats "fair" for most of the buckings, but I'm aware with your specific tensioner (and nozzle) it most likely will perform better.
      Still, I'm very impressed of the 50m performance of your bucking - it shot amazing, especially in this distance and was a strong competitor to the Begadi and 4uantum buckings!
      Coming back to your offer - thank you very much! My agenda for the next months already is pretty full, maybe we can talk again in some months (also when it's warmer, here in Europe haha).
      By the way - your shipment from Canada was super-fast! The buckings I ordered arrived in Germany in not even a week - amazing!

    How can a bucking Rhop style be inaccurate at 20meters and accurate at 50 meters?? That usually shouldn’t be possible right? The further you shoot, the more the bb’s will be off target. (One slightly to the left at 20meter, should be off way more at 50mtr?)

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That's what I did not really understand as well - and what I wanted to test (see the little drawing with the 20 and 50 meter targets). Obviously, 20m accuracy does not say too much about the final precision at 50m - or I had just bad luck at the groupings? But having the "worst" groupings all together in the R-Hop group seems to be a little to many for "just" coincidence... I don't know, open to more speculations :P Have a good one!

    • @trothfox2160
      @trothfox2160 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I have an idea as to why it could behave like this. When you look at the shots at 50m, you can sometimes see a shot that wirls sideways off target just to come back again and hit. my assumption would be that the axis of the spin on the bb isn't straight in the middle (---), but more like (/). so when you see the 20m test, the bb has started its off acis trajectory, but not come back in again before it gets closer to 50m. Id love to see the same type of tests that Rummbolt did, but with heavier bbs, 0.40+, and possibly shorter barrels 150-300mm. if i dont take on that task myself at some point👏

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you, sir!
      You are probably right, values in cm² are more "popular" than added cm+cm.
      But when I thought about it before testing, the grade of information about the groupings quality i found to be quite "similar", besides one measures the actual area, and the other one just the added distance.
      The absolute difference between all buckings values would be higher on cm² than on cm...
      But hey, I'm getting almost philosphical here -> I will re-consider my choice for the next video of this kind :)

    Super Test! Finds gut das sich auch andere so damit befassen außer mir 😊! Aber was ich krass finde ist der Misslungene Test mit dem Unicorn! Ich hab den jetzt schon oft verbaut und find den super 👍. Den Slong Bucking der bei den Slong Läufen dabei ist finde ich auch stark! Den 4uantum hab ich mir irgendwie schlecht geredet für AEG. Aber in den GBBs finde ich den super gut. Begadi machst bei Fly 5 und 7 nichts falsch.
    Aber ich finde den Test wirklich geil.

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey Flori, danke dir :) Das mit dem Unicorn lag zu 99% am Tensioner, der hat die Patchfläche einfach nicht genug runter gedrückt. Mit nem anderen Tensioner sieht das bestimmt deutlich besser aus - interessant dass du davon so begeistert bist auf jeden Fall, ich nehme es mir 2025 noch einmal vor :P
      Das alte Slong Bucking fand ich auch immer grundsolide, hatte ich aber leider nicht mehr da, sonst wäre es auch in den Test gekommen.
      Und bei 4uad scheinen sich die Geister zu scheiden - einige feiern es ziemlich, bei anderen funktioniert es überhaupt nicht. Ich für meinen Teil finde es ziemlich gut (außer in meiner Sniper, das GBB-Bucking von denen will bei mir wiederum überhaupt nicht funktionieren). Aber so ist das eben, diese Tests sind einfach nicht wirklich allgemeingültig - das Gesamt-Puzzle aus Bauteilen muss einfach passen.
      Guten Start ins neue Jahr und viele Grüße!

    Ich muss echt sagen das ist das beste Video zu dem Thema das ich bis jetzt gesehen hab👍🏻. Hab aber n paar sachen vermisst. zum Beispiel währe es cool gewesen wenn du die ganzen Buckings vor den Präzisions Tests nochmal mim Crono gemessen hättest, konstante Leistung ist ja auch ein Faktor bei den Dingern. Und du hast ja soweit ich weiß auch ein Rhop setup und ein stock TM setup(die mit dem scheiss Gummi Rohr als Tensioner) rumliegen, da hättest du die zum Vergleich eig auch grad mit ins Video rein nehmen können.
    Falls da ein Teil 2 für kommt empfehle ich auch dir mal die Silent Industries Alpha huu anzugucken, ist echt ein super Teil👌🏻 ich guck die Neptun nichtmal mehr mim Arsch an seit dem ich die hab. Die kommt auch bestimmt gut fürs Video weil die nochmal 1-2 variablen aus dem Ergebnis raus nimmt und dafür ausgelegt ist mit Original Tensionern von den jeweiligen Herstellern benutzt zu werden ohne die TDC Funktion zu verlieren

      Das alte R-Hop Setup habe ich damals für das Trusight Gen3 "geopfert", das gibts so nicht mehr. Ein stock TM Setup habe ich glaub ich noch nie gespielt, jedenfalls nicht seit ich TH-cam mache. Hi, absolutely love the video!!! Finally someone did this sort of test... I think i can add a bit of info, as the uni hop had my curiosity for quite a while and i have made extensive testing on it. I have tried it in many setups, mainly a g&g gc16, a WE g36c, a WE g18c and in an Ares AS-01. I think it might be the most accurate bucking i have ever tried, however, i can't get it to shoot far, making it almost useless if not for pistols or smgs... I don't really know why, as the patch is not that short, it might be the material they use. The only setup that gets me good range is the g36c, but I can't understand why (maybe the bigger air volume as it is gbb[???]), and i am still not sure it gets that good of a range as an r hop type bucking. If you find out how to get it to shoot far i beg you to make a video about it, i think it has potential to be a great bucking

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey hey, and thanks for your informative comment :)
      My assumption why the unicorn failed in the test was because the tensionor did not reach"deep" enough to hop my 0.32g BBs. A "higher" tensioner SHOULD help here, but I did not test it yet. I'm also curious how it will perform, especially after I read a lot good experience about it in the latest comments!

  • @Yankee2-2Nomad
    @Yankee2-2Nomad วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Maybe i missed it, but what weight did you use for the RHop buckings? Because RHop only benefits heavier weights (+.36) because of the increased surface area which the BB passes through. If you were using .32 or below thats why you seeing weird results from 20m. The larger gripping surface really skews lighter BBs.

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah this could explain the 20m performance of the R-Hop drop-ins. I used 0.32g on all buckings, because I had to find some kind of a compromise weight. On heavier ones, some more buckings could have had problems to hop the properly - you see, BB weight actually is a variable you choose for every bucking, which you just can not cover completely in a test of this volume (12 buckings), if you want to keep it under 1 hour :D :D

    Hi. Very good video. I think you should use begadi 5 series. Unlike the 7 Series, the pressure points on the 7 Series rub against the window as the window opens. This requires some small space so that the pressure points do not touch the window.
    ----I am an avid modder. I'm after laser-like shots. So this led me to modify a VSR-10 and I would use 8 different brands of Buking (three hardnesses for each brand). Even my AEG does.

My LCT RPK with a Lonex hop unit had feeding issues with the Maple Leaf super and the quantum 4 fixed that but does not have good range and also dropped the joules from 1.5 to 1.2 for some odd reason. Still experimenting with some different set ups, but I will say the super macaron in my PKM with the Bull gear hop unit can hit people 300ft + no problem, it’s ridiculous!

      Thanks mate :) Its funny how completely different the buckings perform from replica A to replica B. This is what makes testing and comparing so difficult. If you saw this video for example, and would have bought the 4uad - you probably would have been very disappointed because it's not like you saw on screen. This is why I tried to make it as clear as possible that the test only can give a "tendency" of a comparison.

    • @rummbolt
      @rummbolt  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Da hast du Recht, das habe ich nicht explizit erwähnt im Video.
      Aus meiner bisherigen Erfahrung macht sich ein Einschießen, wie es einige Shops empfehlen, kaum bis gar nicht bemerkbar.
      Gefühlt schießen meine Replicas auch nach mehreren 1000 Schuss genau wie am Anfang. Auch mit unterschiedlichen Buckings.
      Einige sagen, es braucht ein paar 100 Schuss, andere sprechen von 1000... habe das bisher so nicht bestätigen können. Vielleicht trifft es auch nur auf einige Hersteller zu.
      Aber wenn wir uns z.b. das 4uad bucking ansehen, das brandneu in die Waffe kam - viel besser kann es eigentlich nicht werden.
      Ob die "schlechteren" Buckings jetzt noch besser würden mit der Zeit kann ich leider nicht sagen, das hätte auch der Test leider zeitlich nicht hergegeben.
      Aber vielen Dank dass du es angemerkt hast, ist auf jeden Fall wichtig noch mal nachträglich was dazu zu sagen.

    I have done similar tests to this in my 15+ years in Airsoft and as tech in enf i found the g&g green is the best all around if paired with an h nub spacer .
    I mainly use these h nub spacer and pps steel barels and results are awesome!
    And where i live Airsoft outside is at norm 1.7 j or higher and cqb outdoor and indor 1.2 j so for everything within 1- 2 j i found it works really nice with said setup in most hopups unless you have super cnc over tight tolerance hops yea then it will not work but then most else neither.
    Sadly these days people dont try they dont test usually somebody else who build so whats good its sadly one sided alot.
    Thats why people get so offensive in bucking questions like it was politics lol.
    I found that only by doing actual documented tests light and extreme range and all in between you can for sure say if something its truly good
    Most people dont tech and somebody else build for them and this is why so much bad information comes out from people who dont know.
    Thats why videos like this is good.

      Hey hey and thanks for your comment.
      I think is, one possible reason for the "behaviour" you describe is that those tests are veery time consuming and you need the possible for a shooting range, not everyone has. BUT: Acting like they know anything better, while not even having tested in their own personal setup for sure is a problem.
      As long as I can, I will try to deliver more of those tests on my channel to at least give you better impressions of certain products - however, they can and will perform differently in Build A, B, C...
