I think that the wife attacked Balgruuf with the ebony blade(because it takes over your mind and makes you attack those you love), that would explain why it's locked away in dragonsreach. As for the son, he was lied to by the Daedric god of lies and deceit, sounds insane I know but makes a little sense
I think that building any theories based on whatever Methala, the Daedric prince of lies and manipulations, said, won't get anyone anywhere other than in a direction of being totally lost. Since there are no _facts_ to support any theory explaining what Ebony Blade is doing in the basement, it could be just anything.
Unlikely considering in the game files, the kid in question is actually balgruufs BROTHER. Kind of crazy, probably something to do with cut content they forgot to go back and change. But definitely makes things complicated and intriguing
Maphala may have twisted the truth I mean, maybe, Balgruf's youngest does have a different mother... because the first wife died in childbirth from having Balgruf's second child, whom I assume is Dagney.
Falion doesn't worship Molag Bol, he's a powerful wizard who knows how to undo Molag Bol's spell to cure you of vampirism by calling in the power of the Divines.

The Falion thing is part of cut content. It was a quest. Regarding Rune, that's the old norse word for secret. It's probably just a play on words considering the backstory they gave the character.
Falion never remember curing us from vampirism, he cured one of my characters 5 times every time he acted like it was the first time. If he just could remember doing it, you think he should start to comment on it after awhile? "Again? You need to be more careful, I can cure you as many times as needed, but this simply can't be healthy" or something like that.
The great collapse of Winterfell was almost certainly part of the mage's guild questline that got cut back, you were going to go back in time and either Ancano blew everything up, or the battle with him causes the damage. But they cut the storyline back either out of time limits or not wanting it to be a bigger and more awesome quest than the main one.
I'm not sure that's the case. They would have had to cover up a lot of things from the cut quest in that case. For one, even if it was time travel, people would have been around to see the events and would have known at least some of what happened. It's a college of mages and used to be a bigger town, there's no way you and Ancano could end up sent back in time by the Eye of Magnus and inadvertently caused the Great Collapse and absolutely nobody knows what happened, with the mages of the College even thinking it had to do with the Red Year. They'd know and have seen at least part of what happened. And yet despite all of the other traces of cut content, they fully managed to cover up and hide all of those details suggesting that happened?
Almost 12 years later Skyrim still has secrets yet to be discovered. I'm very curious about the Jarl Ballin one. The Ebony Blade corrupts those who weild it and Mephala whispers in everyone's ears. So maybe Mephala whispered in Balgruuf's wife's ear and she was the one trying to kill her husband, only to be killed in return. It would explain why we never see her and why the blade is locked away.
Imagine this Plattform where you cure Vampirism is actually a sealed gate to the soul cairn since valion said he wandered in daedric realms and he can open it...

Regarding the bugs in jars, while some details are unknown, there's more known than you say even after mentioning Camelworks. That stone you used is from Ark survival evolved's fjordur map. By the way... Most of the Jarls are without their partners. The jarls of Morthal and Winterhold are exceptions.
Funny part about the Inigo mod is that it explains the purpose of the hard . Inigo comes with one himself that has a dragon fly. He explains that he himself was once turned into a bug and placed in a jar by a witch . The dragonfly he carry’s helped him escape and turn back . Apparently this witch had been turning people into bugs and keeping them as snacks in jars . The letters could perhaps be her weird labeling system or something
That's the theory of the mages in the College, and thus of some players, but if you look into the lore, that seems less likely. The Great Collapse happened in year 122 of the 4th era whereas the Red Year, when Red Mountain erupted and all of that happened, was year 5 of the 4th era, more than a century prior. Seems unlikely that a bunch of natural disasters, including a volcanic eruption, could lead to a bunch of land falling into the sea 117 years later...

I actually do have some useful information regarding the NPC Rune. Before the release of Hearthfire DLC, i actually found a location on the shores of Solitude, showing what appeared to be a ritual site with runes on all the stones. I found a book and a quest came up "Return the book you found to Rune in the Thieves Guild", or something along those lines. I gave the book back to Rune, i recall him reading through the book and thanking me for finding it. I remember this so well, since it was my first charácter ever in Skyrim and i was doing a lot of exploring. It could be even a patch on steam before Hearthfire, i am unsure. Ever since Hearthfire or Dawnguard DLC was launched on Steam, ever other character i made (till this day) failed at finding that location. Is there any way to install Skyrim without any patches on Steam? i am very certain that "missing origin" can be solved, but was removed-/deleted in one of the updates.
Wild Theory: The stone Rune possesses is the true name of Talos AND Akatosh, but cannot be spoken because it is a language that exceeds both A'edra and D'eadra, primordial tongue? I havent seen this being mentioned yet (maybe I missed it), but under the bridge of the entrance to Dragonsreach, you see a skeleton floating there....the missing wife. Or, possibly, the woman Balgruuf had an affair with who birthed Nelkir. It has been mentioned that in Balgruuf's younger years of rulership he would visit his people and join them in celebration at the Bannered Mare. Which can easily lead to the affair.. and to avoid the shame, he murdered her after Nelkir was born. Possibly with the Blade. Or, another theory, Nelkirs mother died at his birth, and Balgruuf slew his wife to keep his affair a secret ( with the Blade I'd imagine). Both of those theories are probably what happened. Dunno which one is the true one tho..
Falion at the summoning shrine reminds me of ESO where molag tries to subjagate nurn with his chains. Could it be he is watching over the summoning shrine to stave off any incursion. Could he have been a involved with ESO ? Balgruf is a jerk if you leave Helgan before completing the training section. Yes i feel he murdered his wife. Why else would he have the ebony blade in hidden.
The blade from Mephala quest requires innocent blood to activate. If Balgruuf were to be evil, Mephala wouldn't try to kill him. Probably Mephala wanted him dead because he's aware of the blade and the offer. That's why the blade is kept locked. That's how you can tell he's a just man and is not responsible for his wife's death. You can stretch it and say someone killed her wife with the blade and got executed so that's how the blade ended up in Dragon's Reach.
Hm bugs with runes on their jar lids.... character named Rune... could they have been connected? Also both are Viking runes soo clearly Viking ruins existed at some point in a game full of Viking-like characters.
Been playing this game for 10 years multiple playthroughs every time i start a playthrough there is always something new that i didnt know existed this game is awsome and will last forever
You can't be serious dude. When the psijic order monk says that "you have set in motion a chain of events that cannot be stopped" he is VERY clearly referring to the eye of magnus which is the focal point of the whole college quest line. I don't wish to sound rude but anyone who thinks he is referring to the collapse of winter hold needs to stop sniffing solvents. One slightly unsettling mystery I have always failed to find any further information on is why Heimskr, that annoying mouthy preacher in whiterun, has what looks like a Daedric alter with two human skulls on it in his house.
The average gamer is NOT 12 years old. Most industry sites and publications place the average gaming age between the late 20's to mid 30's. They also state that each year the number goes higher as the gaming population gets older and don't seem to stop playing games.
Is rune nordic?? I can't remember.. if so.. what if he's from admora?? Or whatever the place the nords are originally from is called.. kinda proof there's still ppl there.
There an un-acknowledged skeleton under the bridge outside Dragonsreach. A theory is that is Balgruufs wife has been floating around the internet for years.
Skyrim will be 12 years old and I still haven't beat the game yet....I get far but eventually have to stop playing then I come back to it and make a new character lol....currently doing a archer play through
Honestly bus in hard had been a cut content grudge against Bethesda I've had since before its freaking official release. I want that quest line so damn bad.
2:25 If you have the follower mod Inigo installed he has a bit of dialogue about bugs in jars. He carries a jar that has a dragonfly in it. He calls it Mr. Dragonfly. Not to go too far into spoiling the content of the dialogue but the bugs are actually people transformed into bugs. Not official canon but a great theory added by an amazing mod.
It might be. I don't think bulgruf did it though my therory is that it is abinorn 'the werewolf form the dark brotherhood. If you are a werewolf when you meet him he says he used to be a companion before he goy kicked out. Since only the highly trusted members of the Companions become werewolfs he must have been kicked out for something bad . Like killing the jarls wife
In the great collapse, what about when the elder shot the mountains at skyrim? Yes, in a cartoon, use giant water cannons. They shoot 2 mountain tops at skyrim for a frightening recording with vampires trying to destroy the world. This guy, i'd a girl who liked that hated him so much. He sold herself into slavery to escape him. He was willing to destroy the world to have her.
Always well, there's A. Dragon in that cartoon named Adeline. And they sent her back to skyrim to talk to the nords. They establish when paradoxes are caused by dragons, they become male. And there's a dragon that got it pregnant. It's one that has that weird bad creatures hanging from the tree that traveled backward in time and I said. I love to watch history one smacks the other.
No matter how old Skyrim is you will never see it all every playthrough will be different it is for me always something new to learn

Falion, thought that was a department store oops my bad wrong game
About Rune…. Little surprised it wasn’t brought up, but I always saw his backstory as a nod to the character of Lonestar from Spaceballs.
That thumbnail though-
Falion at the summoning shrine reminds me of ESO where molag tries to subjagate nurn with his chains. Could it be he is watching over the summoning shrine to stave off any incursion. Could he have been a involved with ESO ?
Balgruf is a jerk if you leave Helgan before completing the training section. Yes i feel he murdered his wife. Why else would he have the ebony blade in hidden.
Runes exist in eso, ive never played but saw a video on them
Fun fact Skyrim has been out for 12 years, 2 months, and 8 days so far.
Standing there! MENSINGLY!!!!!
0:03 the average gamer is well
Over 12 years of age actually
The average gamer is NOT 12 years old. Most industry sites and publications place the average gaming age between the late 20's to mid 30's. They also state that each year the number goes higher as the gaming population gets older and don't seem to stop playing games.
Isn't that skeleton under the Dragonsreach bridge possibly Balgruuf's dead wife?
Is rune nordic?? I can't remember.. if so.. what if he's from admora?? Or whatever the place the nords are originally from is called.. kinda proof there's still ppl there.
Started playing a character again just this week.
0:03 Actually, the average video gamer is in their 30s ☝🤓
There an un-acknowledged skeleton under the bridge outside Dragonsreach. A theory is that is Balgruufs wife has been floating around the internet for years.
Skyrim will be 12 years old and I still haven't beat the game yet....I get far but eventually have to stop playing then I come back to it and make a new character lol....currently doing a archer play through
Wait so there isn’t some secret mimic ?…. Bruh that’s what I clicked on for
I enjoyed the rune theory
Honestly bus in hard had been a cut content grudge against Bethesda I've had since before its freaking official release. I want that quest line so damn bad.
I like your voice compared to other Skyrim youtubers
I wanted to see a mimic 😢
If the Daedric Prince of Lies tells me I don't have the same mom as my siblings, Imma slap a big 'ol "Sus" on that claim
You forgot the oart where theres a random skeleton underneath the bridge going to the keep
So you really want to hear something crazy I've been playing the same profile on my Xbox 360 since 2018 and I still play that same profile
There's one called Alice whom collects bugs in jars. There's another one thats a jar of flies, but Alice is in Chains.
Yes
How could the dragonborn be responsible im a lil confused
The symbols on the bug jars reveal The Elder Scrolls VI release date.
Or the location of Jimmy Hoffa's body
The REALLY unsettling thing is the "average" gamer is actually 35 years old and I'm STILL older than average 😭
I'd understand why he wouldn't (herma mora is annoying), but why doesn't Rune turn to Hermaus Mora to figure out what the rock means.
The real unanswered question is how many of the bug jars can you fit up your bottom?
New video? Already? Wow!
Ow That hurt pretty bad
2:25 If you have the follower mod Inigo installed he has a bit of dialogue about bugs in jars. He carries a jar that has a dragonfly in it. He calls it Mr. Dragonfly. Not to go too far into spoiling the content of the dialogue but the bugs are actually people transformed into bugs. Not official canon but a great theory added by an amazing mod.
That could fit into his story about being turned into one. 👍
well actualy, we know where is his wife, it's the skeleton under the litle bridge
Rune had Akaviri family I thought
sigh…
*loads another play through*
Hey you. You’re finally awake.
@@Mr.shadoe I heard this comment
I'm not sure that last theory has any marret. After all. The info is coming from the Deadric prince of LIES.
Right. I clicked because mimic. Now to see why mimic. (Soon) BUT WHY MIMIC
The average gamer is 35 years old. Not sure where you got your info, unless it was just a joke.
Must be so much fun to spend time with you
In the great collapse, what about when the elder shot the mountains at skyrim?
Some say the skeleton in the water is his wife That seems a bit lazy IMO.
The bug jars are collectibles that can be placed in creation club homes
Fall damage
laughing in ethereal shout and canis root
@@ThrE3-GeS Oh no I forgot I didn't get the shout NOOOOOOOOOOOO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Owwuuuhh
Starting to think that rune and the markings on the jars might be related. Probably not
