  • Skyrim has without a doubt the biggest library of mods in any game I've ever played. Some of these mods have forever changed how the game is modded, and even the game as a whole. However, their are some mods which over the years have become unknown and forgotten. These are 8 famous Skyrim mods that have been forgotten.

I love the idea of the Rivershack Mod, even though after the Anniversary Edition there's a ton of new great player homes, I still just prefer the amount of storage and ability to grow tons of ingredients in my custom house just north of Whiterun. Even the bigger houses, while giving lots of storage are subpar cause they're usually behind too many load screens. So far my favorite house is the hearthfire one with the name I can't even attempt to pronounce or spell. My 2nd favorite is the Abandoned House in Marthkarth that I use as a home until I have enough money and materials to buy and build a proper home. Somehow the a free home you get from starting a Molag Bol task that you can do very early in the game, has more than enough storage and organization for me than nearly every player home or safe storage area in the game. Only draw back for the Abandoned Home is you don't get the Well Rested perk for sleeping in the bed, and its so far west, its a pain in the butt when traveling, even with fast travel.

I personally recommend Project AHO as it is one of the best story mods ever made. It has an introduction on par with the base game introduction. The voice acting is also top notch and lore friendly down to a Kajiit speaking in the third person. It also expands on the Dwemer in a more sci-fi manner unlike most other mods. I mean, come on, what isn't great about looking into a Dwemer space program and poking about in custom ruins?

All of them are a bit dated, but entirely worth playing through at least once. I played through "Forgotten City" (really, really fun premise, once you get into it) and "Clockwork" (the jump scares and suspense near the start are WONDERFULLY implemented... only mod to ever legitimately give me goosebumps) three or four times each, and "Falskar" once.

So saying that siding with the Stormcloaks as being a traitor after knowing the full history, siding with the Stormcloaks is actually protecting what has always been from someone that wants to usurp control through a coup in the process of removing the long placed safety from Oblivion that the Dragonborn emperors have been providing.

Yo build your own home mod! This is as of now my favorite house mod for Skyrim. You get a lot of building options and can have all the crafting stations you want. It's also relatively simple so I don't need to worry about the affect it might have on my laptop.

Whenever modders need something to make their mod "lore-friendly". They always go towards "the dwemers built it".

Become High King of Skyrim is far less forgotten than that mod where you become Emperor. And even have the option of conceiving an heir. There's incredible voice acting and a recreation of the White Gold Tower's interior and everything!
And I only saw one video of it. Ever. Now THAT is forgotten.
Edit: It was called Rigmor of Bruma and Rigmor of Cyrodil.

If these are forgotten, I know a small modder named Arthmoor. You probably haven't heard of him, he just does a few bug fixes here and there.

Apocalypse, Riverside Shack House, and Clock Tower, erm, Clockwork sound fantastic.
High Queen sounds like an interesting one, especially since the White-Gold Concordat is a massive pile of shite.

Just saying one of the best mods in my opinion is conquest of Skyrim
Take over Tamriel with your own army slowly growing in power and better armour for your army
There are scouts battles take overs
defence, sieges and when your there you can become a jarl of whatever kingdom you take over and there are parades and massive changes to the ai with having meetings about the war with either imperials
    stormcloaks or even both.

Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim is NOT a "forgotten mod. It remains today THE single most popular Skyrim magic mod ever made. Also, I doubt that Build Your Own Home "inspired" Hearthfires. A mere two months separate BYOH from the initial release of the DLC. Almost certainly the Hearthfires was already in development before BYOH was uploaded to the Nexus.
