love to watch u paint.. your the man... this is my attempt of the bridge... i just started to paint a couple of months ago... thanks for all the lessons
Nice painting. Keep on like this, you explain without "look I´m here" that other painters do, more worried about brushes and things out of the frame. Congratulations. I have painted some 900 oils myself, for just the pleasure of it. But as you must know, the adventure NEVER ENDS. Bye.
Len, i am an aspiring artist and it is videos like these who push me forward and inspire me. Thank u for sharing your knowledge with the world! this was very well done. I loved the sky! Thank you!
Painting with a knife is definitely something every painter should try. So many of our online A Level & Foundation diploma students studying from home struggle with this, thank you:)
Thank you so much, Len, for the lesson! Towards the end, I was going 'wow, wow!' Now I feel more comfortable about taking up acrylic painting. I'm going to watch more of your teaching videos
Thank you so much for this valuable lesson. I've been doing the Golden Gate bridge as my first oil painting with sunset & clouds. I've been stuck on the clouds behind the bridge. You also show'd an amazing way to do the bridge. My bridge has the lines sooo crooked, it look's horrible. You are a great teacher. What you drew in just a few minutes, i've been working on for months, painting over the painting to straighten things out. Thank you so much.
I like how at the end he's just like, "How does that look? ... It's okay" And then the video ends lol great job though, I was skeptical in the beginning but it really turned out nice
You are amazing.. i was starting to get hopeless in the middle of the vdo, thats what i do when i am making my own paintings too. I give up when i can't make my paintings realistic, but yours looked wonderful in the end. I love it! Thanks for the lesson :)
Beautiful as always Len! Thank you so much for sharing. I love also how you don't get freaked out if you make a mistake, you just take it all in your stride and simply correct it, in that regard, I definitely need to take an extra large leaf out of your book... :o)
the end cracked me up, i was like thinking "thats amazing", and he goes "hmm. its okay" and it cuts off all fast haha i thought it was funny. anyways i usually dont care for this style of painting but only because i am like super smooth when i paint and a perfectionist and what not but i just absolutely love this. the colors and silhouette of that bridge, just wow. greatness
Len. I am a new artist and I thank you so much. You taught me a lot. I ask you post more videos. My only suggestion is that you make your videos a little longer and more detailed. You are a good teacher.
1. what kind of paper is this 2. how do you keep the colors from dripping when i paint on canvas the brushes make paint gaps and i can see the canvas under it kind of like when you using oil color chalks what can i do
+john webb Hi John - sorry but I have never painted anything from the Capertee, behind Lithgow but have great memories of spending much time there as a young man. Millions of rabbits and a massive, over productive fig tree by the river (creek)
+ajg942 - Sorry - I'm getting lost and can't find where your question came from. When working with art bourds I use 2 sided tape, for canvas masking tape - I hope this is helpful
Hi Len! Thanks for getting back to me. I was just wondering if, once you are done, you stretch the canvas across stretcher bars, glue it to masonite, etc. Thank you!
Len I loved your painting! But I just wanted to know that which type of paints should be used? Because my acrylic paints are very hard and they don't mix properly......
Liaquat Ali There must be something wrong with your acrylic. Your choice of paint relies on a lot of things - availability and the climate where you live - too hot and dry, acrylic no good. Acrylic is cheap and easy to clean up - otherwise use oils - art paint in tubes.
1 for painting on it? he is using a canvas in a role (unstrecth) 2 he has a firm paint... if the paint is too oily it will drip... 3 use more soft brushes of less presure. or if you are painting on a canvas get a finer canvas. hope it helps... Happy painting mate! ps. sorry if my english is por :P
+Himani Patel I worked for years as a detail draftsman and now I don't enjoy being perfect with my work - I prefer to enjoy what I do and not worry about the so called art experts - yes practice - 40 years practice
This is 'primed artist's canvas' The paint is like thick cream. Most artists paints are thick, play school paint and house paint is runny. I think you may need to use a thicker quality paint, Do not thin the paint unless you really need to.

Great perspective Len, love the colors too

Thank you. I learned a lot about using palette knife and painting in two colors. You're a very good teacher))
As a fellow artist that just starts working with paint, i must say you are incredible. I'm learning so much just from watching you good job mate
Len, you're a legend.

Always a pleasure to see your new videos pop up :)

I hadn't thought about using a knife that way, very interesting. I might use that technique in my next painting.
Lovely colours and atmosphere Lenard 😉😉😀😀😀
Thank you, Len. These videos are very helpful and fun to watch.

thats great Len Have you done any painting in the Capertee valley?
+john webb Hi John - sorry but I have never painted anything from the Capertee, behind Lithgow but have great memories of spending much time there as a young man. Millions of rabbits and a massive, over productive fig tree by the river (creek)
+Len Hend (PaintWithLen) where is that located? soo many rabbits?
+Celia Younger No rabbits now - in a valley west of Lithgow NSW - turn off at Capertee I think or near there.
Impresionante, bello. Gracias
Looks good! How do you attach it to supports?
+ajg942 - Sorry - I'm getting lost and can't find where your question came from.

Hi Len! Thanks for getting back to me. I was just wondering if, once you are done, you stretch the canvas across stretcher bars, glue it to masonite, etc. Thank you!
I find Masonite best for anything under 2 foot then I stretch on frame - cheers
Ah. Thank you Lend.. I really enjoy your videos, by the way. You're a great artist.

Len is from 'Down Under' - NSW Australia
"what ever you do, dont try and do everything perfect"
you neveer use water? :O
Why are you painting so carelessly but yet it comes out so good?
practice
+Himani Patel I wouldn't call this fine art. More like illustration (a kind of visual art).
+Himani Patel I worked for years as a detail draftsman and now I don't enjoy being perfect with my work - I prefer to enjoy what I do and not worry about the so called art experts - yes practice - 40 years practice
+Afroze Ibrahim Yes - when working in shopping centers selling paintings it is important to entertain
Len Hend I'm sorry, my comment was unjust, harsh and arrogant. I take it back.
Is this a canvas or some kind of paper u r using sir
It is canvas - it is under coated before I buy it.
This is 'primed artist's canvas'
The paint is like thick cream. Most artists paints are thick, play school paint and house paint is runny.
I think you may need to use a thicker quality paint, Do not thin the paint unless you really need to.
Please go to my website and see the many skys painted there.
Cheers len
Nice. Thank you !!
is warm yellow= cadmium yellow?
+Celia Younger Yes Cella, cadmium yellow is warm - yellows that look orange are warm, yellows that look lemon are cool
+Len Hend (PaintWithLen) thank you.
Hi Mr Hend, is this oil or acrylic? Wonderful painting by the way!
This is acrylic
THANK YOU.
Hi Sayali Jadhav - I have a forest painted with only knife in blue which I am soon editing for TH-cam
waaaaaaaaw very nice
This is acrylic - you might be thinking water color. _ I do not use water except to clean the brushes when finished..
It's more of the brush techniques than the actual knife
WOOOOOOOOOOW
nice
These are acrylic.
am I stupid or did he skip the part where he did the sky before he goes at it with the violett?
Maybe I did jump forward on this one. Some become too long. In this I wanted to concentrate on knife techniques.
Wow... look at his hand fast.
4:54 magic happens
+Himani Patel Are you a painter what do you think is careless about this, does art have to be precise if so why
I was thinking the same thing, lol.
WOW
bello
PRO
Si sente malissimo
This time I couldn't follow completely.
Sorry - there were some parts of the original filming that I could not include.
The result, the iron bridge against the sunset, looks really good.
Looks like crap
