I think it's reasonable to expect that female abusers also face consequences. Depp was replaced in Fantastic Beasts, and he wasn't convicted of anything - rumors were enough. I actually have thought we needed a hard reboot on the DCEU for a long time now. Frankly, the whole thing is a massive mess that has wasted so many good story beats. If WB has enough faith in James Gunn to eat the losses on all the movies this year (and I'd argue, more importantly, give the audience a bit of a break from shared universes in 2025) then overall I think its the best path forward.

    • @nerychristian
      @nerychristian ปีที่แล้ว +8

I agree. The DCEU was never given a proper foundation. Superman and Batman should have been given a couple of solo films first. They wasted the death of Superman storyline. They also wasted The Dark Knight storyline. Having Batman fight Superman was a stupid decision. Would have been better saved for an Injustice movie. The Flash was... well, what can we say.. Ezra Miller... Jason Mamoa was miscast as Aquaman. And Wonder Woman is not a good actress. I hope this will teach movie studios not to try making another shared universe. What happened with Marvel was lighting in a bottle and cannot be recreated. At this point, I think WB should just focus on solo movies, or animated movies. If James Gunn's Superman movie fails at the box office, the DCU will be dead on arrival.

If I could build out DCU:
    - full Batman scope spread over 15 years with 4 different robins (build up to Jason Todd as Red Hood in background) Batman has enough stories that he doesn’t need to be limited to a trilogy within the bigger DCU
    - build out Justice League
    - Justice League Dark
    - Build out Teen Titans with Judas contract and Trigon story lines.
    -Keep The Suicide Squad
-build out storylines for Doomsday, Legion of Doom, Darkseid, Superman clone story.
-have an Injustice movie but bring back Cavill and the OG Justice League to be the villains.
TLDR: the new 52 but with a proper direction.
    Elseworld projects:
    - Continue Matt Reeves Batman movies, give him 5 if he wants.
    - Animated Batman Beyond trilogy made like Spiderverse

Lets not forget that WB and Producer Peter Safran KEPT Amber Heard in Aquaman 2 despite the 3 million plus signatures of people who wanted her re-cast (like Johnny Depp was in Fantastic Beats 3). But they kept her in the movie essentially giving the middle finger to the entire audience. So that is another reason people will not be watching Aquaman 2.
Also a terrible movie has never stopped Hollywood from releasing trailers. The reason they are not releasing trailers for it is because of the Amber Heard controversy. They KNOW that they made a mistake and they are going to get blasted by people for it.

One of the problems Aquaman has had, that you didn't touch on, was the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial. Amber Heard became a very unpopular person after that trial. There were threats of boycotts that gathered a bit of steam, and PR around her was just terrible. She came out an said during the trial that the studio was cutting her role because of the backlash of her accusations against Depp. The studio head said that there had been a problem with chemistry between Momoa and Heard on the first film and that it had been hidden due to editing. Rather than recast the part they opted to instead reduce her role in the second movie. Now they had that on record, that she WAS in the movie although in a smaller part. So the fans who threatened to boycott knew their ask for a recast was not going to be done. They were vocally upset...and got vocal each time a test screening was done that showed Heard in the film at all. So this is more bad PR about the movie. The first round of reshoots was to limit Heard even further because now she had embarrassed them in court and it was seen by a ton of people. Movie release pushed back to try to do a fix and edit and let some of the bad PR about Heard die down. Bad test screening. Ok...Let's try a second round with some new scenes shot for this new edit. Bad test screenings. So they got stuck in that cycle. Trying to do reshoots, re-writes, etc. The movie starts to lose focus. People hear about this. They get the news that maybe the movie doesn't matter. Interest wanes. Now there is a actors strike so none of the people who are cared about can promote the movie. None of the actors. So no way to try to hopefully raise interest back up. Movie release has recently been pushed again, with no new date. WB MUST release this film as it's price has bloated due to the delays, reshoots, etc. It's got all these negatives that have driven it down, and it'll cost even MORE money to fix the film witha LARGE re-write and LOTS of reshoots up to and including an entire NEW film that is vastly different with what they already have. So they either release a film they know will fail and lose them money AGAIN or they just memory hole it and hope the tax write off doesn't lose them AS MUCH money as a release...either scenario could go on to damage FUTURE plans because they lose the nerve to try a film in the genre again...and general audiences may decide to not give future films a shot because they think investment is not worth it. Either the film will be bad or it won't matter because of the reboot is what a lot of non-superhero nerds will probably think. Everything about Aquaman has the potential to be VERY divisive for several reasons, most of which you cover in the video. You'll have a very loud portion of Depp fans that will be upset. You also have a very loud portion of Heard fans who will be upset. Unfortunately both sides will get a lot of press because the news will report it and those who don't really care about it will only see that there seems to be a lot of Headlines saying bad things about the MOVIE. Leaving them with the impression that it's a bad movie regardless of how it actually turns out. So they stay home, and if word of mouth DOES finally turn positive it'll be too late to turn the opening around because the studio will most likely move on to something different and abandon the film because they don't want to risk promoting the film more and seeing that it has time to actually become profitable. The current state of the movie business sucks.

  • @WalkingDistance8
    @WalkingDistance8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

You also have to keep in mind that Ezra Miller is not very well liked, on account of the many, many incidents surrounding them. On top of that, Aquaman 2 has Amber Heard which is an even bigger fuster-cluck because regardless of what side you fall in that situation, her association is guaranteed to tank the movie almost single-handedly. WB has mismanaged this universe from Day 1, and they've bafflingly backed themselves into a corner that no one even realized was in the room. We've all said from the beginning that the difference between the MCU and DCEU was that the MCU took time to set up it's foundation, while the DCEU was a race to that billion dollar paycheck from the get-go. I think that's even more important today. How could we expect the DCEU to find it's legs if it never had legs to stand on?
I, personally, never cared about the interconnectivity of the universe. The only DCEU movie that I thought was worthwhile was The Suicide Squad. I think the general public feels similar in that they only have one or two DC movies that they like. While the MCU movies are basically theme park rides (I agree with Scorsese People need to get real) they're usually movies that anyone can enjoy. Plus, as you said, sometimes you only see them just to see how they fit into the grander narrative. As far as the DCEU is concerned, it's really only the hardest core fans that go to see those and the grander narrative was never interesting enough to push those who were on the fence to see it.

    Two thoughts:
    1) I think that DC had written off these four movies, period. The production history of Fish and Aquaman alone made them complicated, with everything that went down with both Ezra Miller and Amber Heard, in addition to the regular movie issues that happen and have plagued DC since it started. Add on the fact that Blue Beetle, good as it may be, was put out just so they'd have something to close the summer (and probably would have done better but for the strikes) and the first Shazam being a surprise success before getting hit with the pandemic to delay the sequel, I don't think they had high hopes for either of them, either. Aquaman was the closest to a marquee level character among these four, so it makes sense that the decision to announce the reboot would happen when it did, if only to try to buy some good will for a brand that has been consistently losing that since Christopher Nolan stopped making Batman films. That's a smart decision, in that light.
    2) you said that there's no MCU movie that doesn't have problems, aside from Winter Soldier. I would 100% argue that and submit Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It's smart, funny, dramatic, emotional, sincere, well written, doesn't rely on cheap gimmicks, it's well paced, well acted, and still isn't afraid to lean into the crazy aspect of "yeah, his dad is a planet. This is a comic book movie." How did the movie pull all that off? By letting James Gunn do his thing. So then, the new DCU, by announcing the reboot, isn't just allowing them some time to maintain a little audience faith (which you can tell it's working based on how few "what's wrong with DC movies" pieces there are compared to even a year ago), but also allows James Gunn's brand to not be tarnished by underwhelming, underperforming movies that they didn't have high expectations for to begin with. The latter is integral to the success of the former. Had they not announced a reboot, it would have soured the discourse. Suddenly questions would have popped up of "if Gunn is now in charge, why aren't these movies doing better?" Even among the relatively small portion of people who care about the moves behind the screen, questions would have happened about how much involvement he has in the movies being released. By going about this the way they did, they've avoided all of that. They made the right call.

At the time when James Gun got put in charge, most of those movies were already finished, and I'm sure he didn't know if he'd be able to save them from the place he found them in. So I imagine it was easier to say none of it matters because if they bombed and had his name on it, they would significantly hurt the reboot of the DCU. But I agree it was announced to early. they probably should have saved the announcement of the reboot after the release of the Flash but before Blue Beetle.

I think people forget that James Gunn isn't the only one running the show. Peter Safran is supposed to be responsible for the business side of the DCEU. The Safran Company is one of the production companies of the Blue Beetle. There is a conflict of interest here since he would be making money off the release of Blue Beetle.
This last part is just me, but I think Blue Beetle was meant to be a power move by Safran to establish control over the DCEU showing that he could do it with Aquaman and he can do it again with Blue Beetle. Safran desperately wants the project that he was working on to be successful to show to Warner Bros that he can handle the DCEU by himself without the need for Gunn. This is why I think there's a conflicting statement between Gunn saying that the Blue Beetle movie is not part of the DCEU (January 2023) while saying his character is (June 2023).

Gunn never contradicted himself. He always said Jaime Reyes will be part of the DCU but his movie isn't canon. Also, your theory of Safran wanting control of the DCEU isn't valid. Gunn said it himself on a podcast 2-3 months ago that Zaslav approached Safran first about running the DCU but Safran turned it down due to not being a pro at the creative side of things. Then Zaslav went to Gunn to run it solo but Gunn declined because he didn't feel comfortable handling both creative and business side of a studio. That's when Gunn (or Safran, forgot which) came up with the idea of Gunn handling the creative side and Safran does the business side. The podcast I believe was Michael something. Just Google "James Gunn podcast with Michael" and I believe the video shows Gunn exactly how it went down.

How many times has the caped crusader stolen the spot light whenever he shows up in other media like teen titans go or justice league action? And if that doesn't tire you then how bout this; We have 3 live action batmen continuities coming up at the same time! A sequel to the joker movie which is its own thing; a Robert Pattison "The Batman" sequel, and now this new DCU movie with Damian Wayne's robin....no thanks. i just wanted a Batfleck trilogy but I believe that ship has looong long since sailed and Ben doesn't seem that interested anymore. Finally someone says it.Brilliant resumée! Because you are so right about it. James GUnn totally ruined the complete DCEU.
Black Adam was ruined by THE ROCK and his greed (in my eyes)
Blue Beetle is just inclusive garbage
The main problem is that they fired all their good actors like
    a) Henry Caville => Supermans perfect match
    b) Gale Gadot => Wonder Womans perfect match
    c) Christian Bale => Batmans perfect match
    d) Jeason Mammoa not longer as Aquaman
Instead they make Ezra MIller to the new flagship. The bad boy of hollywood with more skandals, crimes and psychological problems than anyone else, but protected by the Warner Bros Lawsuit, Bodyguard and Payment roll... and representor of the LGBTQ movement.. and thats why he was revived in the DCEU. To satisfy this kind of audience... so the usual audience will quit the DCEU.
Where you are also so very on point is that we can see there is no real story anymore behind the movies, where some heroes teamup to fight ... something. You could compare this to the league of the extraordinary gentlemen - and they did it so much better than the DCEU, but stil a very bad movie with a forgettable storyline... which is badly written. Fact is: Too many heroes make the story bad, because you cant follow someones story anymore and lose track. And instead of breaking the 4rth wall you crash in front od the 3rd wall and distance yourself and force yourself to watch it till the end and ... like a never again safari...

Simply put, the SAG-AFTRA actors strike going on means that no actors can be present for any upcoming film marketing outside of appearing in posters or trailers (main example would be Comic Con panels or world premieres, hence why Comic Con was actually about COMICS for once this year). And with Flash already bombing and Blue Beetle not given much marketing before the strike, what makes you think they’re gonna care about Aquaman 2? If it’s not gonna be delayed by the time of December because of everything else getting delayed, they’re gonna just do a trailer and admit that it already bombed before release essentially. Add on these wild stories (true or untrue) that characters like Peacemaker or Gal Galdot might stay but not Henry makes it more confusing and leaves a bad tastes in some ppls mouths. I think Gunn should have waited till after this Aquaman 2 to say anything about a new dcu and I also think they should have done one last film to close out the dceu, as a last hurrah. The flash could have been that but when they removed all the cameos including Cavil (plus I don’t think it was very good imo) it just ruined that. I think the smart play would have been to have one final Superman film or one final Justice league film to say okay this is the end, here you go. Now, here it is the new dcu. That’s my two cents.

I also think a Justice League like film would have done at least better than what they’ve done recently as ZS Justice league was overall received well so I do think even pumping more money to make these films would have still gained than some at least compared to now. And yes lots of ppl were asking but he could have…you know, not answered or answered later or given a bunch of other answers. He really doesn’t have to answer fans. Most studio execs don’t. BB was even worse. Bad story, bad characters. Obnoxious family with a mentally disabled protagonist who let his father die cos he's too dumb to fight. Granny with a Machine gun? Cmon....thats bad even in kindergarden
So the problem of the DCEU is...James Gunn
After he said these movies were useless, he started cutting scenes from the 4 you talked about, making them even worse. Flash Finale is ALL JAMES GUNN. Some of the reshooting of Aquaman....are all James Gunn cos he cut all Keaton and Affleck scenes
DCEU started making bad movies with Suicide Squad and JL butchered by WBD, when they started copying MCU movies style, hoping to get that 1B$ movie that Snyder failed to deliver. And Gunn project, after 7 failed movies in a row, 8 with Aquaman, wants to reboot the DCEU with THE SAME STRATEGY...copying the MCU...

    I love the ads.
    The Snyderverse trilogy is beautiful
    because,....
It challenges our heroes mentally, physically and morally in order to understand ....
    The why of them.
Zack Snyder used this term a lot and it
    refers to "a hero's journey".
    WHY they help ?
    WHY they save ?
WHY they risk their lives ?.....
Because they are heroes ! But the Snyderverse also asks....
    WHY are they heroes ?
The journey of overcoming pain and trial and darkness is the answer and it is only by seeing them fight through those moral challenges and thier personal darkness (that WE ALL have), that we can understand them as PEOPLE. People.
Because, at the end of the day, they are all just people trying to do the right thing and inspire hope. That is the journey to becoming the heroes that WE knew them as and it was nice to finally see the hardships and realistic struggles of our iconic heroes up close ! In a way, they are even more of heroes after experiencing the Snyderverse.
They also inspire real world Hope! If they are people and they can step into the light as heroes, we can too and that is a beautiful message that was intentionally put there by Zack Snyder and co.
    This is not about
Tomatoes or "true DC fans" (as the haters call themselves) or "audience scores" this is
ART and BEAUTY for fans. How movies should be.
    It is not gone ....
    Thank God !!!

There is no TRUE problem with Jame's Gunns DCU because it has not started yet and it won't start until Superman: Legacy. As for him rebooting the former DCEU, literally none of the DCEU films that have come out in the last 5 years have even made 400 million dollars and have all been financial flops. The only DC films to have been profitabe were The Batman and the Joker movie, both of which are not connected to the DCEU whatsoever. The truth is that the DCEU never fully won over audiences and by this point the majority of audiences have simply abandoned it. As for anyone foolishly saying that they should bring back Zack Snyder, that would be a disastrous idea because the ones crying about "Restore the Snyderverse" is just a loud minority and would not make DC profitable and all the movies he directed underperfomed nor were they beloved. A reboot is absolutely the right move to save live-action DC movies.

The problem starts early in this video. For the sake of this - I'm not a huge fan of Zaslav or his personal politics and the way that they have had to deal with the 50B+ of debt that AT&T drove them to is unfortunate. I'm not here to defend him, but the true impact of what he brings to WB really isn't apparent (yet).
The problem isn't "James Gunn taking over DC Studios", it was announced in one of the first Zaslav investor calls (I believe March/April 2020 shortly after Discovery/WB merged/acquired. Zaslav noted at the time he was looking for a Feige type to lead the studios and DC Studios was going to be set up in a way similar to Marvel. The failure on Zaslav and WB in regards to the DCEU and Cavill was not keeping reigns on Hamada's promises and (this is a rumor) Dwayne Johnson as they (and others) tried to position themselves to be the heads of DC Studios. Gunn (and Safran... remember him?) inherited this problem.
It's also important to note that movies and shows take a long time to develop and for theatrical movies there are a lot of legalities involved in how they are released. You can shelf a Batgirl film because there is no Box Office residuals attached to a streaming only film, but in the case of a theatrical presentation, producers and production companies expect residuals and a percentage of the box office (if successful). See the lawsuit of Johanesson v. Disney and the Matrix producers vs. Warner. So The Flash, Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, Blue Beetle were always going to come out.
That said, the first film post AT&T, the first film that Zaslav greenlit was Joker 2, and that doesn't come out for another 13 months. All of this other "stuff" is contractually bound material that Warner Bros. has to deal with. And fine... actually since the Star Wars film and the Star Trek film (which were originally slated for December 2023), Aquaman will basically be the only film in IMAX for a few weeks during Christmas, which actually gives it a huge leg to stand on regardless of the quality of the film.
Lastly: "James Gunn fired Henry Cavil". This is where words are important and a responsibility: Cavill wasn't fired at all, he had verbal conversations with people at Warner Bros who were not in control of the future of Warner Bros. He was paid $250k for Black Adam and $250k for The Flash (a cameo later cut) prior to Gunn/Safran taking over. He did not have an existing contract with Warner Bros, it was a one off. He was 'promised' talks by people who were in 2-3 months not going to be in control.
Yes, he was jerked around. But the people making those promises are no longer at Warner Bros.
Everyone agrees that the DCEU was failing... Bringing in Gunn/Safran publicly wasn't for the fans, it was for investors as way to give investors a direction for the future of a potentially very lucrative franchise. Smart investors realize that Gunn/Safran's footprint will not even be felt until 2025. This is just business. You can't start production, writing, etc. in Hollywood these days... you can't secure production space, etc. without the leaks, so you lean into them. If the fans would have been OK waiting a year to let Gunn/Safran speak about the 'reboot' fine...
But don't pretend that all of us (including this TH-cam channel) didn't put pressure on Gunn/Safran to announce their schedule.

And Aquaman 2 trailer delay is because I think they were thinking of moving Dune to December due to the strikes. Since the Dune 2 decision was made (move it to 2024) the rumor is that New York Comic Con will be the massive launch of the Aquaman 2 trailer.

They fired Johnny Depp from Fantastic Beasts and kept Amber Heard for Aquaman 2. They fired Henry Cavill and kept Ezra Miller. WB are not listening. James Gunn keeps making statements which contradict with what we know. Nobody trusts them anymore. The only loyalty that was left was from the Snyderverse fans who wanted it restored. Also the DCEU was never going anywhere, it was always trying to find its footing and there was no solidarity between things.

Great content. Problem with the DCU is the WB. Not allowing directors to direct and alternating between selling toys and trying to catch up with marvel lol. WB has stars that have controversy. Ezra miller and Amber Heard both of which fans expressed getting them replaced or they will not see the movie. Promoting the movie plays major factor because I don’t recall seeing any for blue beetle but I love the character from Cobra Kai.

The fact that Aquaman original made $1 billion was already confusing to me seeing as the only thing about it that was actually worth seeing was Momoa walking around (or swimming, I guess) topless being baller and the CGI being pretty cool. It was about as empty as you can get. I think people thought it would be Avatar with abs. Aquaman 2 is going to be judicial hearing with abs, just like Flashpoint was a judicial hearing with Batmen.

It’s honestly ridiculous and a little pretentious to say that “movies with meaning” stopped being made when the MCU got popular. There were more attempts to make universes that weren’t meant to be though.

    1. Ben Affleck The BATMAN or rename it BATMAN VS DEATHSTROKE or BATMAN: DEATHSTROKE.
    2. Keep Ben Affleck cameo in Aquaman 2
    3. Make Man of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill
    4. Release the AYER CUT of Suicide Squad!!!!
Then the fans may get united for Superman Legacy.

As a huge DC fan and someone who has gone to watch every DCEU movie in theaters; I’m really excited for James Gunn’s DCU. And while it’s a little confusing if it’s a hard reboot or soft reboot (I personally hope that it’s a hard reboot), I still believe that James Gunn is still the best person for the job. I think we all need to just wait for post Aquaman 2 for more information. My personal opinion, the DCEU was never established on a solid foundation and really didn’t use DC’s source material well.

@@BeyondTrash-xe1vs Sure. But think about it.
Henry Cavill is a massive nerd. He has star power. Many female colleagues at my previous place of work would tune into a show or movie simply because he was the one starring in it.
Henry plays Warhammer 40k. That type of nerd is a massive bonus when adapting material to the big screen. He thoroughly researched his roles.
Removing a star like him means that the producers don't give a sh*t about the source materials _(I say this because Henry adores the source material of whatever show or movie he is working on)._ He was/is the one lead actor who was proudly on the audience's side, limiting the amount of banal story-telling Hollywood produces.

@@British_Roguehe was the lead to snyder’s trilogy, I think Corenswet deserves a shot in Gunn’s vision, like we got Reeve’s The Batman and I personally loved it even tho I thought Affleck looked so good and perfect “looking” Batman so I’m good without a batfleck movie. I also don’t blame Gunn for Cavil that’s on WB for wasting his potential and bringing him back in Black Adam, Gunn still is the right man, all his movies were up hill risks, even tho GOTG had the mcu everyone was saying going to flop, no one knew the team and he changed up the team but it was a hit. Plus he knows he can’t mess up Legacy

I went to see Blue Beetle 4 times. Each time crowds were laughing and even clapping in the end. It is a great movie better than Black Adam, Shazam 2, and Flash!!! It has that Mexican/Latino flavor that we are not used to seeing. The multicultural cast and cultural reference hit it out of the park. It’s a big fail to not have marketed/promo this this demographic more. Blue Beetle is a good movie at its base, but this added flavor makes it so much more enjoying and relatable if you have connections to the Mexican/Latino culture. I can see joe smoe out in the somewhere like Ohio, or Indiana not enjoying BB as much and even criticizing it as nothing new and thus not a good movie. I believe that Superhero genre is past its peak. There was a time when people will go watch pretty much anything superhero related. It’s now far over saturated with content. Those high $$$ numbers are no longer relevant for every thing...unless your a top character like Batman/Spider-Man. Studios need to re-evaluate their expectations, that appeal to the whole General Audience is no longer there. Add in the fiasco going on with WB DC, whose reputation as a whole is just damaged. Outside the core fan base many don’t care anymore. After so many failings it’s apparent that there is no big picture; just a mix match of ideas with no clear vision as a whole. ...Going back to Blue Beetle, of all that’s been put out, I have more interest in seeing the continued story of BB Jaime Reyes. They have to keep the cultural flavor though! Disclosure: I am from so cal ( where Mexican/ Latino culture is stronger than other places. I also have cultural connection with Mexican heritage. So yes I’m going to resonate with the culture than someone who isn’t. I stand firm on my opinion that they missed a target audience and should be looking to get success with the GA as a whole.

    1. He's running the DCU (DC STUDIOS) not DCEU and yes, there is a difference.
    2. He didn't fire Henry, he didn't hire him for the new universe.
    3. Not a single person said the movies "weren't important."
    4. Black Adam, Shazam: FOTG, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman: TLK are the ENDING of the previous series.
    5. Man of Steel leads into BVS and see Wonder Woman's origin story, which influences the creation of the Suicide Squad and the Justice League starting the new age of heroes, after which Aquaman gets the courage to confront himself, we get the second half of Wonder Woman's origin, new heroes emerge like the Birds of Prey, Shazam, Blue Beetle, and Black Adam while The Flash comes into his own incidentally returning to Man of Steel.
    6. There are stills and set photos officially released for Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom.
    7. The actual films don't factor into the new universe, although some characters will make their next first appearance in the next one. Marvel film logic is "it ties into the next film so go see how this film you don't care about ties into another film you don't care about that ties into one you do."
    8. The fact that this rant exist is the exact reason why Gunn is choosing to start from a new place and not just "fix it." He's not in control of what they put in those films. How much money these films make or not doesn't affect the next universe. You clearly hate this shit, so just wait until the next reboot or just watch The Lost Kingdom anyway.

Finally somebody hit the nail on the head. The reason for the lack of interest in recent DC movies. No connectivity. Part of the reason we go is to see what's to come next. And with the DC universe starting over , there's no interest in Shazam and Blue Beetle because it doesn't lead to anything.

Why Gunn is in a bad spot.
-Getting rid of Henry when he just came back for Black Adam. That killed the hype
-Releasing Zack Snyders version og Justice League which was WAY better than the theater version, and saying "that is it for the story".
-Saying there will be a reboot and most of the movies and cast DOES not MATTER was a bad PR move.
-Ezra Miller and Amber Heard hurt the DCEU/DCU that without any action taken it killed the support the Johnny Depp fans and those who don't like Ezra Miller walked out.
-Zack Snyder fans that said they won't support the DCU/DCEU anymore meant what they said and walked out.
-There was no clear story going forward after Snyder took time off and then sudden sacking. All DC films poster Snyders exit felt like cheap copy of marvel movies and making the plots less operatic and more :"goof balls" when it was established DC was more serious in how those characters represent society's morals and what we fear if their powers were used for evil.
