I’ve legit replaced every relay / fuse / fuel pump/ coil pack / crank position sensor/ timing belt / tried replacing ECU / brand new optima battery/ timing done.... Shifted from 1st to second had to push it out of the middle of Mc Neil and 183 😑 have thrown so many parts at it I’m dumbfounded. Strong Crank no start... no spark... smells like fuel hard!! 😂 no rpms when trying to crank it. .... got any ideas????
Well , im about to pick up a 1995 Miata from a Old Lady she has no ideas whats Wrong , Im no Miata Expert but I saw the Car its a Crank No start ima assume Spark or Fuel car is 100% Stock and was told she Jump started the car backwards aka - in the + n + in the - . What is the worse that can happen when that Happens? Maybe a Bad ECU?
Congratulations on your find! Definitely blew the main fuse up front at least. Start there (easy and cheap). Let me know how that goes and we can work from there if that doesn't solve it.
I+need help 1.8 only fires on 1&4 I swapped the coil input plug ins and now it only fires on 2&3. New t belt--new crank sensor- new cam angle sensor. S O S
That's great news that everything is firing just bad that it's only half. 1/4 are supposed to fire , then 2/3 are supposed to fire. Sounds like you already figured out the coil pack has failed you. forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=518990
Hey! i recently bought a 91 miata 1.6 5 speed the clutch is shot so i bypassed the switch i replaced spark plugs And the battery and all it does is click it’s been sitting for 5 years got any idea on what it could be?
Congrats on the recent purchase. Sitting for 5 years would make me thinking your fuel system might have a clog but it if it's only clicking that still points to not enough juice being sent to the starter. Does it sound at all like it is trying to turn over?
@@MiataMoney Nope just one click, i did notice the ground behind the intake manifold wasn’t hooked up at all? any idea what that ground if for? and I think my starter is just shot because the entire car has power all the electronics work
@@juanduran2813 One click definitely sounds like the starter is DOA. Check the fuse box just to make sure but one click when everything else seems alright definitely points towards a stuck or bad starter.
Hey , guys I need help so it started to rain one night start the car it start fine. When woke up the next day I try to crank it wouldn’t starts when I check I was not getting any spark I replaced the coil and the spark plugs , I retime it, I replaced the cas , I replaced the ingniter I tried everything I’m only getting spark I two cylinder with the stock ecu I thought the ecu was bad I replace it with speedy efi now I’m not getting any spark at all. When I crank It with the stock ecu it makes that pop sound. If anyone has the same issue please inbox. I just don’t know what is wrong.
Hey, sorry to hear about your Miata not starting. How do you know that you are only getting spark on two cylinders? I'll try and help as much as possible.
@@romualdbienaime If you haven't already posted this on miata.net please do. I would start with keeping the stock ECU in since then you are at least getting some sort of firing. If you are getting some pop that would make me think you may have your CAS not adjusted correctly but that is super easy to do. Check the fuses is also really easy and another thing you can eliminate. Here is a good write up but I will happily keep talking to you to help out when possible, forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=279746
U should be checking everything with a meter etc not just keep buying parts and changing them.. did u test the coil pack and it was bad so u changed it or you just changed it ? Dont be a parts changer, learn a meter check voltage and that grounds are good, power is reaching the part etc etc its easy to learn and will help you pin point if something is working or not
Yep I get your point entirely. I have spares so it doesn't bother me to change things out but if I didn't I would be taking out the digital multimeter and taking a painful amount of time verifying. Thanks!
@@MiataMoney yeah i was just trying to help. When my fuel pump went i just checked for voltage on certain parts, good grounds etc and got to the pump and voltage was a no go so looked and harness was burnt a bit but anyway when i bought the pump i knew it would start after or i knew that pump was bad 100% and went to start it and boom starts right up. Takes me more time changing parts then testing with the meter lol.. trying to fix my uncles car now but i think its sezied up cause it wont manually crank/turn, and my car almost new i just got 2 months ago already has a driveshaft issue as black shit is all over my rims, a fking honda accord from the dealer ship ! Timing belt failure no. Even if it does fail it's not game over for the engine because they are non interference (it doesn't do any actual engine damage, just to your mental state)
@@LuisAngel-ww6jq Hey Luis, if you have an ad send it my way and I'll give you an honest opinion. If not, send me a few more details about it. (2k is not a bad price for a miata especially if there is no rust)
U got no crank, test the starter first , when it cranks and won't start then move on to fuel pump etc. Test parts , don't just be a part changer its a waste of money

“Like somebody just took a physics test” I guess I can relate to that timing belt pretty well 😂
It's a right of passage sir! Hope all is well :)
As soon as he said that I had a lot of ap physics ptsd. Especially since my teacher gave us the most difficult questions he could find 🤦🏻♂️😂

It took a minute but they filled up :)
Also, you got lucky the Miata’s engine in non-interference...
Dummy proof for a big ole dummy.
love that hose clamp at 6:13
I'll have you know that it remained there, in glory, for many moons without issue :)
Just bought a new Miata hopefully I’ll get it working

Dang. Did it die while driving or wouldn't start randomly one day?
Same with my NB1. But it randomly just didn’t start anymore... been dead for almost 2 yrs now

If only you had the paid sponsorship from Shop Teacher D Plasti dipped on the door! The good vibes would have helped you fix it sooner!
I put up the "SHOP TEACHER D" yesterday but don't have the fancy "@" sign. I'll send you a pic tomorrow. Also hope you and your close ones are well.

Really? I swear it was only supposed to be in 2 pieces but I could definitely be wrong. Hope you have had some success getting your Miata running!
