@@tenillemcwatters3625 I started out switching to plant based milk and yogurt and then only using small amounts of cheese. I still eat dairy once in a while
I've starting adding digestive enzymes right before eating lunch and dinner and this has helped me sooo much with bloating, I was surprised to feel the difference. I do stop eating by 8pm and this has helped me not to have that morning bloat feel either.
For years after workouts I always felt so sick and I finally realized it was always after having my protein shake. Then for the longest time thought I just didn’t like the flavor of my shakes. So I tried tons of different flavors and brands and different kinds of dairy based protein. Then I finally realized it was the whey. It made me bloated and just plain nauseous. What protein powders do you use exactly? I have found that a lot of them upset my stomach so I would be interested in trying the ones that you have found work for you!
pea protein powders are good for digestion issues. I have IBS and it's really the only one that doesn't destroy my stomach. I have wasted so much money on high end whey/casein proteins that send me straight to the bathroom within 30 minutes. :(
I think I remember her purchasing Orgain from Costco in another video. I looked it up to double check, and it looks like a pea/rice protein blend. I had the same question, so I racked my brain and did a little digging.
Himalayan pink salt is the way to go! Traditional salt is SO processed. When I switched, it REALLY helped☺️ I’m the same way with dairy. Yogurt is great, I use nut milks, I love cheese, but ohhhhh the cheeeeese🥺🥲
Yes! Our functional Med dr recommends pink or grey salt and no iodized table salt. We use tons as our body says we need it and no bloat, no water retention and increased hydration.
I cut out sugar four years ago but was still using a lot of artificial sweeteners. I recently realized it was causing me a lot of bloating and gas so I have cut way back on them and I feel so much better. Thank you for making this video. It was very helpful!

Thanks Katie for another great and helful video 😊 I am on a low fodmap diet because of fructose intolerance and it has helped me so much with bloating. It's a very restrictive diet but I feel like a new person. I've had to give up a lot of veggies such as asparagus, onions, garlic.... but it's all good as long as I am feeling better ☺️. I will be looking into the rice and pea blend protein powder, thank you! ❤️
I love this video with all this useful advice and it is helpful to many. I'm fortunate to live in Italy and follow a mediterranean diet, lots of fish, fresh veggies (raw and cooked) drink wine and never take protein powder or supplements. I never get bloating and keep everything within moderation. This is the best diet ever and I eat a lot. I look and feel amazing. No supplements and I exercise full of energy.
I have hypothyroidism too. I used to feel like you, bloated after eating all those foods you just mentioned. But now I take a really good probiotic and it allows me to eat all the foods I want without getting bloated. Maybe you should try a really good probiotic. Going to the bathroom frequently is key to maintaining a healthy weight.
I have hypothyroidism too and I take a probiotic every evening and it definitely keeps you regular. I've always eaten dairy and have never had a problem with it. I live my brie and feta cheeses. I do eat the brie on toasted sourdough bread though so maybe that helps.
I’ve suffered from bad stomach issues for a few years now. Extreme bloat and stomach pains after eating. It was so uncomfortable and bad I started to dread eating. I was literally scared to eat. My doctor didn’t think anything of it since my blood work all came back ok. Took matters into my own hands and I feel better. Not 100% but better. Vegan protein for sure. Whey made me bloat and bad stomach cramps. I take pre and probiotics every morning. And digestive enzymes when needed. I’m thankful for your videos. They helped me learn even more.
Totally feel you on the Whey Protein. I used to put it in my smoothies and while it was a delicious addition, I seriously felt like I gained 5 lbs overnight... I cut it out and substituted it with a Pea Protein and all the bloating/feeling of weight gain went away immediately.
I appreciate your information and you are spot on… Especially about the Sucralose (Splenda) intake. I’ve been a health conscious gal for a very long time. In the past couple years I was experiencing really uncomfortable bloating, constipation and gassiness. It would worsen by the end of each day and my diet was 90% clean… Some veggies were just a no go (brussel sprouts, cabbage, etc). I got tested for over a 100 items for food allergies… results- negative. I then tested for food intolerances/sensitivities… results- all normal range. I then did a lot of research on FODMAPS and did realize I was especially sensitive to fructans (found in many foods). Digestive enzymes became my best friend… but it bothered me that I couldn’t determine the culprit to these issues. I was only masking the problem with the enzymes. Then I found research on sucralose and how it can alter your guts micro biome and cause an imbalance. I depended on Splenda (sucralose) for everything sweet… coffee creamer/sweetener, zero calorie drinks, protein bars, protein shakes, etc… I decided to breakup with Splenda. That was a year ago and now, I avoid it at all costs… all of my supplements- pre workout, BCAA’s, protein shakes, etc are all “naturally” sweetened (monk fruit and/or stevia). My system is finally normal again… and so are my bowels. I know, TMI… but essential to feeling healthy. Some veggies that you mentioned still cause me issues, but that goes for anyone… Thank you again for your video… Really appreciate your insight.
Raw cruciferous veggies has me keeled over unable to walk the rest of the day. However, they are so detoxifying that I have experimented a lot and found that well cooked or cauliflower and kale completely blended in a shake and daily prebiotic, digestive enzymes and kefir really work! Worth a try if you haven't tried it. I'm also hypo. I can't do brown rice/brown rice protein, or any grains though as it puffs me up so bad. So I know it can be so individual!! Thanks for the video! ❤❤
Paying attention to your digestive system is so important! I realised a pattern whenever I ate mushrooms or bell pepper. I rarely have issues now that I've cut those things out! I had no idea paprika was made from bell pepper, though, so I had to learn the hard way 😂
It could be that you have a sensitivity to salicylates and possibly the nightshade family. I have an issue with too much black pepper, eggplant, red bell peppers, and occasionally mint and tomatoes... It depends on the amount. You have to think of it like having a bucket in your stomach and once that bucket reaches its limit then that's when you have a reaction to the amount of salicylates in your system. I recommend researching more about salicylates and the nightshade family.
@@MsJdub99 I'm the opposite.. not much trouble with green peppers, white pepper, or jalapeños usually, but definitely red and yellow peppers or black pepper.

100% agree about those cruciferous vegetables! Wow do they crazy bloat me too! Have you found a protein bar you like that is plant based with no sugar alcohols that you like?
Would love to know what protein powder you are using?? I’m using the pea protein powder and it can sometimes upset my stomach. Also would like to know why other supplements you take please??
Weren’t asking me but I had this experience a few years ago. Sometimes these powders contain inulin, a fibre that can be beneficial however can cause gas, bloating, discomfort. I experienced that when I tried Iron Vegan brand. Instead, try either LeanFit or Genuine Health (GH has a fermented option, brand is pricier), for example. Both vegan organic. I use LeanFit primarily, I like the ingredient list, contains vegan enzymes right in it too which is great. Doesn’t bother me. It is a complete protein powder (has all the amino acids by including multiple plant sources not just 1-2). Both options also texturally pretty fabulous. Whatever you choose, just try a powder without inulin, and multiple plant sources for the best benefits. Not a doc, nor nutritionist, just my personal experience and research so take it for what it is.
@@JJ-yu6og right now I’m taking Thorne brand potassium citrate. I’ll do pedialyte a couple of days a week. ..l do eat a lot of cooked vegetables and right now -summer -raw tomatoes
Thanks for your video. How are you with broccoli sprouts? It doesn't have all the fiber, but it does have more enzymes to help digest, and it's really good for hormones. I'm allergic to brown rice and I do organic pea or hemp that doesn't have any other ingredients. The kind of salt is relevant. Table salt is poison. Himalayan Sea Salt (or Celtic Sea Salt) is healthy, especially if you have adrenal fatigue. Dairy can be really bad for a lot of peoples' guts (can cause leaky gut like gluten, and that causes bloating and other issues, for sure, if you are sensitive).
this is soo interesting, I've been going through digestion issues since 2021 and it hurts :S im curious, what digestive enzyme do you take and what is it actually? I'm curious :) thanks Katie :) xoxo
Fresh tomatoes bother my stomach and I can get a headache. However, cooked tomatoes, tomato or pasta sauce in small amounts is OK. I love your videos and tidbits of information! You are an inspiration!
OMG, Katie, I've tried soooo many powered protein for smoothies but they ALL give my gas and bloating that I stopped buying protein powders altogether!! But I will give protein one last try with the one you suggested pea and brown rice protein and praying that this works for my gut!

Aw so glad it was helpful! I love collagen, but it really depends on how your body responds to it. I've found marine collagen to be the best for hair, skin, nails, etc. xo
Thankyou so many people get upset when you say you do not eat something as if thier opinion us more important than your health. I do a more lowcarb paleo and it helped so much.
Okay I have an issue, I want to do all of these method but my Asian parents keep on forcing me to eat processed and unhealthy foods or else they’d start shouting and screaming at me, all of this just makes my stress 100% more, and I’m in such a bad place right now, how should I make my diet more healthy as a 15 year old?
Hey! My best recommendation is I know it could be hard but really sit down and talk with your parents or maybe cook them a healthier meal you want to try!
I love feta cheese on my avocado toast, probably the only cheese I eat. I don’t try not to hav cheese but I don’t really consume it unless it’s pizza night lol 😂
Trying to lose 10 lbs, fasting 7 days might do it associated with tummy area. Also, plan to go snorkeling since near the beach and play with goats. Comment on cheese was awakening Rylie
I would NOT suggest fasting. That is not going to get you any type of long term results and can be very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Please be careful.
Salt gets so villianized. But it’s typically salt WITH sugar and carbs that causes bloat. I do pink Himalayan salt but don’t eat any highly processed foods& I’m around 30-40 carbs a day all from veggies.
Soy is a great source of protein! For women with higher estrogen dominance it my cause too much estrogen in the body so I would just get blood tests if you are consuming often.
Thank you so much for this! I was taking down some notes on this because I have the same problem with bloating. Would love to see an updated video hopefully soon! 😊
You can eat cheeses that have been matured more than 12 months because the bacteria’s break down the lactose . Hard cheeses like Parmesan can be consumed but not soft cheeses like cottage cheese . Plant based cheeses have artificial colourings in them and preservatives etc .
I've been following a low FODMAP diet due to IBS. Turns out my body can't digest and break down sugars properly. My body hates onions, garlic, milk, mushrooms, honey, certain fruits and vegetables, etc. They are high in fructan, sorbitol, mannitol, lactose, fructose, or GOS. They cause me misery. Severe bloating, severe stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea. It takes me days to recover from eating something with this. Sometimes a couple days in bed not being able to move and feeling so bad. Eating low FODMAP has helped my symptoms. I even lost around 35 pounds. I just hit a plateau this last month. I'm doing weights watchers on top of the low FODMAP diet, walking 4-5 miles a day (briskly), daily HIIT workout. But yet I'm not moving. Every Friday for the last month I weighed in at 164.5 and over the next couple of days I'm up to 167. Then Friday comes, 164.5. Same cycle every week for the last 4 weeks. I'm frustrated and don't know what to change. Any advice?

This was such a great video. It was so well explained and just what I needed. I’ve been fasting and I am now starting to eat again. This has given me ideas of things to avoid. Thank you!
It made it too restrictive for me! It can be great for others but sometime it causes people to focus only numbers and not the quality or content of the food instead.
It’s the worst thing you can put in your body! Ugh I can’t believe they still sell it. Pure poison. There is nothing good in it. The information has been out for years and years about how bad it is.

100% agree about those cruciferous vegetables! Wow do they crazy bloat me too! Have you found a protein bar you like that is plant based with no sugar alcohols that you like?
Same here! I like go macro bars! What protein bars do you like?

Is truvia fake sugar even though it’s 0 everything?
It's actually a natural sweetener from stevia
@@LoveSweatFitness so it’s ok for me to have?
@@LoveSweatFitness ?
@@LoveSweatFitness Or is it still considered added sugar
I love your hair! I'm sorry, I know that has nothing to with the subject of the video, but you look super pretty. :-)
Thank you Amber!!
What digestive enzimes do you recommend?
My Girl!:) You can use code LSF15 for 15% off!
I also struggle with dairy - what type of digestive enzymes do you take?
I take Now Super Enzymes it has ox bile too since I don't have a gallbladder. I'm hypo too and this saves my stomach no matter what i eat
My Girl Wellness xo
Take 4700 mgs.potassium per day to debloat also helps adrenals
How do u do that? It's hard to get that much potassium in your diet from food. Also, the potassium supplements don't have enough.
@@JJ-yu6og right now I’m taking Thorne brand potassium citrate. I’ll do pedialyte a couple of days a week. ..l do eat a lot of cooked vegetables and right now -summer -raw tomatoes
Thank you for the helpful tip!
Thank you! Yes broccoli sprouts are so good for you!
this is soo interesting, I've been going through digestion issues since 2021 and it hurts :S im curious, what digestive enzyme do you take and what is it actually? I'm curious :) thanks Katie :) xoxo
Good question I hope she replies
I've been using My Girl Wellness :)
can you do a walmart grocery shopping ? please and a workout/foods to help boost metabolism
Following the low FODMAP diet to test your digestive problems is a big part of her suggestions.
Fresh tomatoes bother my stomach and I can get a headache. However, cooked tomatoes, tomato or pasta sauce in small amounts is OK. I love your videos and tidbits of information! You are an inspiration!
Very similar to what was mentioned about brocolli!
When I fast I got bloated and gassy what can I use to stop this I don't want to give up fasting.
I would recommend limiting fasting or trying alternate day fasting. Otherwise sometime limiting stressers like coffee can help with bloating.
I have hashimotos and I stopped whey protein 3 days ago, and can tell a difference already!! Thank you!!!!!
I have hashimoto's too! I had to cut out eggs and gluten 😥
@@crystalpaul4161 I have a feeling eggs are next for me too. 😭 my stomach is not right after I eat those or even egg white protein.
@@amandan8259 its actually the egg whites that bother me😥
Great to hear! Have you tried my new LSF Plant Protein yet?
OMG, Katie, I've tried soooo many powered protein for smoothies but they ALL give my gas and bloating that I stopped buying protein powders altogether!! But I will give protein one last try with the one you suggested pea and brown rice protein and praying that this works for my gut!
I was the same but tried the low FODMAP foods who suggested 100% pea isolate protein powder and I was great with it...👍
@@Phoenixrises89 thanks for your suggestion. Is FODMAP foods the brand name of the pea protein? Katie, what brand do you get and where do you get it?
Have you tried my LSF Plant Protein??
@@LoveSweatFitness, yes I bought your chocolate flavored protein and Wing Woman and love, love the flavor or both products! However I still get a little gaseous from the protein powder so I don’t use it everyday. I want to try your Slumber Party next, but shipping your products to Hawaii is quite expensive so I just can’t buy one product at a time, unfortunately!😒
What about honey?
I still have honey!
Can you make an in detail video about why sugar alcohols are bad?
Yes! That is such a creative idea!
Great video! What protein powder do you use?

I find it so hard to give up my favourite foods but I now I should this video has helped me thing about trying to give them up agen thank you
Honeslty u dont have to give up any of ur favorite foods. Just eat everything in moderation, not daily but whenever ur really craving them. Avoids binging and helps weightloss in the long run!
It's definitely not about giving up your favorites (unless they are causing you healthy issues) but then it's really about having less to reduce cravings and better your overall health
Hi!!! 😀 New viewer here. For your #2. What's the enzyme you take when you eat the veggies? What's the brand name? Thanks if u can reply.
Welcome!! I've been liking My Girl Wellness lately.
Bread pasta rice sugar high fructose corn sugar are all terrible for your stomach
true!
So cooked broccoli is ok?
yes!
Whey protein tears my tummy and digestion up!! Totally agree. Also coffee and coffee creamers...yikes! Like you said artificial sweeteners...ie Coke zero or Sprite zero will tear me up and I'll be in the bathroom all day....
Oh no coffee too? Have you found a substitute? I have a suspicion on coffee, but I just can’t find a substitute I like
hahah yep! I'm find with coffee but very particular about what I put in it for sure!
This is all good advice and I’m in same boat ahha only cooked veggies n limit cheese. That’s interesting about the serving size! Probiotic w digestive enzymes from gnc helped me a lot and ginger tea 🙃what do u think on collagen it seems to upset me but I hear so much good about it?
Aw so glad it was helpful! I love collagen, but it really depends on how your body responds to it. I've found marine collagen to be the best for hair, skin, nails, etc. xo
Thank you! Your video spoke directly to a few issues I am having
so happy to help!!
Thankyou so many people get upset when you say you do not eat something as if thier opinion us more important than your health. I do a more lowcarb paleo and it helped so much.
Gotta do what's best for YOU and YOUR body! :)
Awesome video thanks! Which proteinshake would you recommend?
TY! Just launched my LSF Plant Protein! You should definitely try it!
There’s a difference between chemical sugar alcohols and natural sugar alcohols. Erythritol and allulose are natural
Are sugar alcohols in Zevia drinks?
Never have Zevia before tbh
I love feta cheese on my avocado toast, probably the only cheese I eat. I don’t try not to hav cheese but I don’t really consume it unless it’s pizza night lol 😂
I use goat cheese and seem to be ok
SAME!
Trying to lose 10 lbs, fasting 7 days might do it associated with tummy area.
Also, plan to go snorkeling since near the beach and play with goats.
Comment on cheese was awakening
Rylie
I would NOT suggest fasting. That is not going to get you any type of long term results and can be very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Please be careful.
I love this, thank you!!! This is soooo helpful as all your videos!!!!
Happy to help! :)
You're looking great Katie! Love the advice
Thank you Christine!!
Salt gets so villianized.
But it’s typically salt WITH sugar and carbs that causes bloat.
I do pink Himalayan salt but don’t eat any highly processed foods& I’m around 30-40 carbs a day all from veggies.
I use pink himalayan salt in moderation for sure.
What about soy protein? Thoughts? Articles?
Soy is a great source of protein! For women with higher estrogen dominance it my cause too much estrogen in the body so I would just get blood tests if you are consuming often.
Looking awesome Katie! Thanks always for the inspiration!!!🥰🌷🦋🐾
You are so welcome!
Your hair looks great and I love that color on you ❤️
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much for this! I was taking down some notes on this because I have the same problem with bloating. Would love to see an updated video hopefully soon! 😊
For sure! Doing an updated version soon :)
Thanks
You can eat cheeses that have been matured more than 12 months because the bacteria’s break down the lactose . Hard cheeses like Parmesan can be consumed but not soft cheeses like cottage cheese . Plant based cheeses have artificial colourings in them and preservatives etc .
Thank you for the tip!
@@LoveSweatFitness You can make your own vegan cheese and you can find it on you tube and there is no additives . Best of luck .
Amino acids will build and repair muscles is another option too for ppl who have a hard time with protein shakes
Where can I buy them do you recommend a certain brand? Thank you!
I need to integrate these 5 foods into my diet 😊
You should!
What protein powder do you specifically use??
I use my LSF Organic Plant Based Protein Powders! Here is the link :) my.lovesweatfitness.com/collections/lsf-organic-plant-based-protein-powders
Any advice?
That's tough! I would suggest talking to a medical doctor because sometimes having underlying health conditions can hinder weight loss.
For me it’s rice, pastries and ice cream. Overall anything with a lot of gluten or sugar.
What are you wearing?!? I love it! I see you creating a fitness clothing line next! You are amazing ! Love from Canada
Thank you so much! Thank you for the idea :)
This is so accurate, thank you!

You've got to try the LSF Plant Protein I just launched :)
This was such a great video. It was so well explained and just what I needed. I’ve been fasting and I am now starting to eat again. This has given me ideas of things to avoid. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
How come you don’t count macros? So many coaches do that for their clients? And it seems like a great way to manage and be mindful of
It made it too restrictive for me! It can be great for others but sometime it causes people to focus only numbers and not the quality or content of the food instead.
So diet soda is bad right?
Or are the stevia ones ok?
I personally don't drink soda at all, it can be really bad for your health.
Absolutely. They mess up my stomach so badly. If you reaaally want the effect of drinking soda, go for carbonated (sparkling) water.
Plus the gas from the bubbly of the soda!
It’s the worst thing you can put in your body! Ugh I can’t believe they still sell it. Pure poison. There is nothing good in it. The information has been out for years and years about how bad it is.
I love monk fruit sugar 😊 thank you for the videos!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing your videos!!!!
Glad you like them! 🤗
Thank you so much, I think I ve got issues with exactly same food *plus onions
