    I'm a university student who started his own corporation last summer, 3D printing is my primary focus as I have a huge passion for it.
    I've got four of your exact machine, all kits I bought from China. as well I've now got a prusa I3 mk 2 genuine from prusa research.
    the mk 2 was headache for two months, but prints awesome now. I've been watching your videos for a whole and they really do show that with enough effort these kits can be made into work horses, my main focus though is automating the machines.
    great videos, you're doing some really good work.

      Thank you so much for support! Am glad you like my videos. Definitely this machine is more pro now. Nice! Yeah Prusa Mk2 is great machine but for me is way of the budget. Good luck with corporation! Cheers!

    Amazing upgrades! I'm following almost all your tips. Now waiting for the mosfet to save my hot plate and new main board. Last one has died. It's not able to control the temperature of the bed. Thanks for sharing with us mate!

      I will like to get that same extruder but the link he supplied is to a Chinese knock-off. I'm wondering if it's just better to get original. I'm just waiting on my printer. I just ordered it I'm so excited.

      Nexi being as cheap as it is I can't help but wonder at its quality as an e3d clone. I've read reviews on a few of those from places like Aliexpress and banggood and it's usually terrible. how is the one you put on holding up? any problems with it so far?

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrKarriban Nope. Everything is great. Working like charm. It's peace of metal with replacement heater and temperature sensor there is nothing to go wrong. If heater stop working replacement is less than 1USD.

    Hi,
    I have the Makibox and got it second hand ages ago, but am not happy with the x/y wobble is has, so purchased the Anet A8 yesterday from Gearbest and hope to have it soon. Looking forward to building it, and hopefully upgrading and modding it like you did. Thanks for the great videos. You have a really clean and neat setup that looks fantastic! Hopefully mine will look just as good :)

    also remember that when printing abs on an heated bed the stock aluminum plate warps a lot. Although this might not be a problem with the new insulation glass with kapton tape is always good for this, because glass is always flat and never warps.

      Nexi I finally recieved my Anet A8. I am loving it, just wanted to say that, by the low price of the E3D kit you used, it has to be a chinese clone. I've been told by other ppl on an Anet A8 FB group that I should avoid the cheap clones as they are prone to more issues than an original. Have you had any issues with yours at all? If you think they work fine, then thats good enough for me.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If course its clone :D You think I will spend 60-80 USD to something that can be produce for 5 USD in CNC mashine? Nope :) Its working great and even if my heater incide hotend die at some point I can order new for less then 1 USD :D

  • @mpikas
    @mpikas 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Help me understand (I'm just getting into an A8 and all the info is overwhelming):
    - You were having quality problems because your carriage was binding at the ends of its travel, was this because of the spacing of the rails in the mounts vs the spacing of the bearings in the carriage was slightly different or was it intrinsic to the design of the head somehow? Did replacing the head fix the problem or was it just an opportunity to fix the carriage/spacing problem at the same time?
    - You printed an impressive demo with it, but it was with a .2mm nozzle vs a .4mm (half the diameter, 1/4 the flow). Is the accuracy increase because of the smaller nozzle or something intrinsic to the print head (I understand that the head is smaller and possibly controls temp better so the motors can move it faster accurately and it might work better with different filiments)?

    Your setup is phenomenal!
    I've just got my printer a couple days ago and have been reviewing your videos.
    Unfortunately my bed plate threads came a bit stripped (2 of 4) and it's fairly difficult to get it precisely level. My question to you is, since you've modified the crap out of yours, ...if I were to drill out the holes to the plate chassis (part that holds and slides the hot plate) and feed the screws through allowing the butterfly clamps to provide the needed tension themselves...would this cause any unforseen issues?
    ...I hope this question makes sense, any suggestions would be appreciated. And THANKS for your videos, looking forward to trying to get a setup like you've got!

      It's probably not suitable in the longterm if you need 100C plus as it has expended polyethene but for PLA it means it soon gets up to temp.

    hi there , nice work
    i am thinking , for the x carriage did you use 4 LM8UU bearing or you just used the Anet ones?
    if yes, what else you did buy that you do not mention in the video or links ?
    one last question have you used the same fan supplied with the Anet?

    Hi Nexi ! You are turning your 3D printer into an impressive one !! I'm just wondering, what is the brand of the filament you use ? And is there a way for you to post macro shots of your 3d prints ?
    And why going with bowden ? How does the benefits of a light X axis compare to the problem related with bowden (filament elasticity in bowden tube etc) ?
    Because I've been messing with my Anet A8 for 3 weeks now and I couldn't get the same quality as you, so I'm going to make the same upgrades, hoping I'll reach the same quality :)

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate! Brand of filament? No idea, am using chepest garbage of PLA than I can find on Aliexpress and gearbest :D Well: It's very easy to change filament, x-cariege is very light now and fast! For me quality is better now then before and much more speed. I never have problem with bowden setup but I had filament breaking multiple times with direct drive before. Changing filament was pain before. One thing is sure I will never go back with Anet A8 old extruder setup.

  • @JoseRozua
    @JoseRozua 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have three questions:
    1- Should I buy the "Long 1.75mm filament" head nozzle (BangGood) to get your same exact setup? I mean, placing the extruder engine at the top of the printer etc.
    2- Is the carriage placed directly on the bars? Or how? Could you please explain in detail how all the extruder is mounted on the bars? The necesary pieces, etc.
    3- I have bought a proximity sensor. Do you think it could fit in this new setup?
    I think you're getting the most accurate 3D printer on this entry segment and I would be pleased if I was abble to get something almost similar.
    Thanks a lot mate.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate! You have all links to parts in video description. X carriage is right now without sensor but on Thingiverse you can download this with sensor mount: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1811912.
      Its easy plug and play system. When you download parts and open in cura it's going to be clear where bearings are. Keep in mind you need 4 instead of 3 bearings for this X carriage and you need 8 small plastic zip ties they are holding Bearings with X carriage. Thanks for your comment and thanks for all positive thoughts! I been put a lot hours in testing and working with this printer to make it work like that. Right now am testing fine tuning of extruder steps in the firmware to make it even more precise and even better quality with filament extruding speed. You welcome! Am glad you like it. Cheers!

    Just bought the hotend upgrade, Sooo keen to see the how to vid and really keen to try out the new hotend, I will say i think that is a clone of the e3d v6 as i have seen them go for like 130$, But with that quality at only 20$ AUD im not gonna argue haha.

      Hey there, I am actually still waiting on my hotend to come, i got mine when Chinese new year was on so its only just left china and will still be a while till it gets here sorry. and plus i think my printer is out of whack .5 to .75 mm on one of the axis', which is gonna be a pain to re calibrate, i might be able to jerry rig the plate that mouns to the bearings given that its not way out, I will have to print a couple of test cubes at 20mm, 40mm and 60mm to try and work out how much to adjust the code by, kinda pissed that i have to adjust the code for it though, its so bloody hard to do, Although i may be able to adjust the model to compensate for it

    Could you do a video on all your upgrades that you have done so far and maybe how much it cost and which parts are printed? I know you have done one already but it seems like you have more now.
    Also on your older videos I noticed your prints look incredibly smooth, how did you do that? Is it related to speed? Also do you only use ABS?
    Cheers dude keep making these videos!

I plan on doing a bowden set up but i'm going to by my hotend directly from e3d, e3d-online.com/E3D-v6 these are the guys who developed the product and everyone just rips it off and they don't do a good job i guess. 50 bucks for the real deal why not? I have one question, please: Are you still printing with PLA with this E3D Upgrade? I am asking, because some peeps in my A8 FB Group tell me with the E3D is no longer possible to print with PLA, they recommend PETG. Thanks for your effort and please keep up the good work, I really learned a lot from your videos...

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still printing without any problem. All my upgrades are made with PLA and now am printing models in ABS still on same E3DV6 with PLA holders and x carriage. So far I didn't notice any problem only little warp on fan duck because ABS is air/fan free but sense ABS requiring some high temperature I thing is better to print all V6 holders and X carriage in ABS because Is more heat resistant. PETG is also god option because its also heat resistant like ABS and easier to print like PLA.
      P.S. Thanks for positive feedback :) Am glad that I helped. Cheers!

    Hi. nice video; been trying to replicate your setup, but now I'm facing a problem; the carriage taken from your example doesn't work on my anet a8; the distance between the metal rails doesnt match the carriage igus bearings center, as the rails seem to be a little bit further apart(and no sand paper will solve the problem); could there be slighty differences from the anet a8 builds? any ideas? measuring between the rails and on the ends they measure from inside around 38mm distance. thanks

    Hi! I bought an Anet A8 printer It was printing normally, but the thermistor dropped and when I saw it was coming out smoke from the printer, so I unplugged the plug. The problem is that when I try to print something the filament is coming out thick (even gushed) even with the temperature of 200 degrees that I used to use before the smoke happened. Help me, pleaseeeeee

    Great video. How did you attach the X-carriage to the rails?

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just slide bars off on the right side and disassembly bearings enclosure and take off bearings and simply clip them inside new x carriage and use some zap strap to hold bearings.

  • @Christopher-lb6rf
    @Christopher-lb6rf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I followed your instructions, and got everything working. But when it homes x/y it is off to the right of left edge and way in front of the bed, causing it to print off the right side of the bed and off the front. I am using the travel limits in the firmware and the start/stop gcode. It seems as though the parameters for the G28 x/y offset are being ignored as the head lands in same spot regardless if I use G28 X-16 Y-26 E3000 or G28 with no parameters. I can't figure out how to fix this.

    Have you changed your power supply?
    any issues with the burning of the cable for the hotbed?
    or did the Mosfet fix that?

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't using so much heat on heatbed right now sens I have Vertex build tak but even if I using heatbed on 55C I did't notice any cable heating. My cables are thick and they don't get worm. I heat up bed to 100C and left it on 100c some time just to check PSU and Heated module(mosfet) and cables and they was fine. If I notice some heating I will install even thicker cables or possible change or upgrade PSU.

      Everything is printable you only need V6 that cost less than 10 bucks. Settings on Cura is same only Gcode is little different but its not must to do if you print small parts. I make video about ''how to'' about this upgrade soon.

      Thanks for your comment and thanks for all positive thoughts! I been put a lot hours in testing and working with this printer to make it work like that. Yes exactly! Right now am testing fine tuning of extruder steps in the firmware to make it even more precise and better quality with filament speed. You welcome! Am glad you like it. Cheers!
