Really loved Charlotte Church in the early years. A lot of people talk of others better, like Jackie. But, I will take Charlotte over them. But the most obvious is her different voices- you can hear her flip to head...hear chest...but that was then!
Eh, I don't know if her voice would ever be the same. Her voice has changed a lot from smoking. Besides, she hasn't done opera in years. Though she has said in an interview that she tries to keep up her "opera voice" just in case one day she decides to go back to it. So who knows. Her voice is so much better suited for opera though. :p

I would never give a 13 year old this song. Never. It makes no damn sense to do so. At 13 her voice is BEARLY developed to withstand the athleticism this song requires. She's raspy and thin. She did more harm than good.

the audio and visual seemed to be rather unsynchronized (i guess just a problem with the video conversion) but she sounded great. she was always great when she was younger.
@mrsaidengrimshaw There are many excellent performances here not just Callas. There is Ruth Ann Swenson who sings it very well, Kiri te Kanawa, Sumi Jo, Ana Maria Martinez too. There are other good performances too. Callas was incredibly expressive, a great artist, but not everyone likes her voice timbre some consider it a bit harsh and metallic. There are even young singers who do a good job with it e.g. Nadine Sierra, not at the level of greats but very good.

"Will eventually"? It already has,just listen to her "pop" songs and see if you can hear a shred of the natural talent on this clip. She is now 26,and the voice is already in tatters,and sadly she cannot get that back.

Ms Sissel isn't a real opera singer either, though she is better than most crossover singers and maybe could've pursued opera with more training (though I lack expertise to say this for sure, I am just an opera fan, not an expert).
No kidding. She was blessed with the voice of an angel at such a young age. She's such a talented young woman. But she made some bad choices as an adult. Let's hope she doesn't turn into Great Britain's version of Britney or Lyndsay. Enough said about that.
