I was going to take this song to Contest this year as a solo, but I came down with strep the weekend that it was taking place so I had to deny. I will not deny that she has an amazingly beauitful voice, but her breathing is horrid. She needs to consult an instructor to help her with her breathing. It sounds like she just ran 4 miles and is trying to sing this. Still fantastic.
Aspects of her personal life have been criticized in the press. In 2002, she was photographed smoking, which was controversial due to its possible effects on her voice. It subsequently emerged that she had developed a habit, and that many members of her family were heavy smokers, making it difficult for her to quit.[

This was originally a haunting and beautiful African lullaby. She left out (never learned) the lyrics that actually had any meaning. Watered down for the commercial tone-deaf vapid masses that buy her saccharine generic music.

I'm totally cool when people don't particularly care for a piece of music. However I find that people who think that because they don't like a piece of music, that other people who do are somehow inferior in someway, are supremely arrogant. I think it's fine to have an opinion. To assume your opinion is in anyway definitive or better than someone elses is highly egotistical.

I have been attacked by a lot of nasty popera fans for no good reason. I try to make my comments as civil as possible. I just mistook you for one of them, as I misinterpreted your original reply. If Charlotte Church was coming out of the woodwork NOW, she'd be nothing, because there are so many kids who surpass her talent and training at even younger ages. Now we realize her training was poor and she has no vocal support (hence the breathiness in everything she has ever done age 9-16). Same for Susan Boyle. If she were beautiful, she'd be a nobody, because she's not that great.
bleugh! I was hoping it would be the Copeland version! this is horrible pseudo-Classical singing with tonnes of air in the voice. very bad technique and an annoying sound.... (but she's very pretty...)
