Pearl it's so wonderful hearing your Anglo Indian accent, you remind me of my mother and your recipes take me back to my childhood where mum seemed to live in the kitchen cooking all these lovely meals. She is no longer with us but Im keeping the tradition going by following you and recreating all the wonderful dishes just as I remember them
My mom saw this video and tried exactly the same. It was really yum. We all enjoyed eating this chicken dish. We enjoy watching your videos and thanks to you ❤
Even though we have made rice and Chicken curry 10 times over, there is always something new that we learn . And that is to make it in a different style. Thank yo u so much. Looks delicious.
I've had the pleasure to learn this recipe with Pearline almost 10 years ago (slightly different) and it's perfect!!!! I've made it so many times in my kitchen and it's always a winner!!! Thanks for sharing 😘😘😘
My mummy's simple plain chicken curry is good too. I'm blessed. She is also mixed and lovely like this lady. My mum is extremely blessed as she grew up in tea estates in India. Her help usually did all the cooking. They taught our family our trade secrets in the kitchen
This wonderful lady prepares dishes like my dear mum used to do. The first time I saw her prepare these Anglo Indian dishes, I was immediately reminded of my mum and my aunts who lived in Poona and Bombay during the British time and the Anglo Indian influence… the gentle way they speak, explain things, the patience and meticulous way they prepare their food…so delicious and appetising, is so nostalgic and transports me to a beautiful gone by era which for most part now only lives on in sadly almost fading memories of the stories and recounts of what life must have been like in British India many, many years ago. Thank you so very much, Pearl. God bless, you.
Hi Pearl. It was a pleasure watching your cooking videos. It's going to be a big help to me when I start cooking for my family. Thank you so much for inspiring me to cook. Will try out all your recipes. God bless you.
You mention leaving green coriander leaves in the freezer. How do you freeze the coriander. Please let me know. I waste a lot of coriander leaving it in the fridge. Thanks
Hi Meena I wash it and drain it in the colander or sieve then let it rest on a tea towel for 10 minutes and then chop and freeze can’t go wrong 👌🏻😁🤗❤️.
Just a kind tip you can use a wooden spoon when cooking I am learning watching you cook thankyou do you have a course pounded masala called sambranie check an let me know please
Hi Indira, that’s for your lovely comment and yes I only use the wooden spoon now because of the noise 🙏🏽, and no I don’t have a pounder I use the Mixie for my masala 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
I will try this tomorrow! Regarding measurements, could you show us what a teaspoon is to You? I always use a precise teaspoon. Do you? Want to get it right x
Yes so just use the teaspoon you are using but will come very tasty, at times I don’t even measure anything I just use my approximate measurements 👌🏻🤗👍🏻😁
You can but then that will change the taste and will become more a South Indian dish as coconut will overpower the curry flavour 👌🏻🙏🏽, but you can experiment on it 👍🏻❤️
Hello Freckleface , you can make it both ways, it’s just that in India my mum never kept Ginger garlic paste so if she had to grind ginger garlic each time so it was easier to grind the rest of the masalas too with it 👌🏻🤗
Yes, I made my chicken curry and rice pea rice. It came out very nice my children they like it but my daughter loves potato in the chicken curry but this time I tried without the potato thank you very much for your recipe.

Hi Pearl, what is the difference between grinding spices to just adding them straight in the pan?
Hello Freckleface , you can make it both ways, it’s just that in India my mum never kept Ginger garlic paste so if she had to grind ginger garlic each time so it was easier to grind the rest of the masalas too with it 👌🏻🤗
