I bought my first ever Pixel phone last year with the 5. I'm very happy with it! I use it a lot on my trail runs and love to run with it in my hand so I can take any scenic photo at any given time. It's perfect for my hand size and also enjoy the photo and video quality. I'm also not concerned about speaker sound whatsoever. I read that the Pixel 5 will update till 14. Can't really complain here.
I did try the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro at the store for size matter and felt it would be much heavier in my hand.
I do love the look for the new 6's but for now I'll play it by ear. I'll continue to enjoy my 5 in the meantime! 👍

apart from the size and fingerprint, pixel 6 is miles better than 5, I have owned and used them both and I am satisfied with the upgrade, performance, battery, charging speed, speakers, screen, build, design, everything is a huge upgrade. P.S. Camera hardware is very superior, unlike some reviewers claim, the main sensor compared to pixel 5 is miles better in sharpness, low light quality everything

    • @C3lloman
      @C3lloman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@HarisAftab Performance, maybe, although Pixel 5 wasn't slow in daily tasks either. Battery, not really. Pixel 6 has a bigger battery on paper, but the chip consumes more power, so you end up with more or less the same battery life. Charging speed, I think Pixel 6 supports 22 W, whereas Pixel 5 had 18W, so practically identical as Pixel 5 had a smaller battery. Speakers, haven't compared those, so hard to say. Screen is the same 90 Hz 1080p panel on both, so it's only a difference in size, which is subjective. Build and design, subjective. I like the uniform width of Pixel 5's bezels better and I don't mind the plastic rear as it means you can use it without the cover, but fair enough. Camera and chip are the main upgrades I would say.

I've had my 2XL for about 4 years now, and I was about to upgrade to the 6, which is being offered through my carrier for $624 cnd ($488 usd), but they are also having flash sale where they are practically giving away the 5, listing it for just $1 a month on a 24 month commitment, which is no issue as I have a great plan and have no issues.
That's why I was drawn to this video to see if the pixel 6 is $600 better than the 5, which I think is an easy "no"

Right now I'm still deciding if I should keep the 6 Pro. I'm upgrading from the 3 XL, but I found some stuff that I don't really like. Recording 4K60 can only last 10-12min before overheating. The indoor low light camera is noticeable worse and the lens flare is even more horrible than it was on the Pixel XL. I barely touch it to check a few stuff and the phone gets hot very fast. Under-display fingerprint scanner has worked perfectly every time for me, no issues whatsoever there. The glass back of course makes it slippery when left down, so I'll be putting a case on it asap. So far, so happy with my purchase :)

Going from the Pixel 2 XL to the Pixel 5 last year I was conflicted to upgrade with some downgrades like the display going from 1440P to 1080+P which I did notice even coming from 2 XL and Note 4/Edge prior. Audio quality too went down. I will say when holding the Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 5, it is a little bit refreshing to fully hold the 5, a nice return of the rear fingerprint sensor and having the screen be full edge to edge display. I’m content with the 5, but I felt forced to upgrade once my 2 XL since it wasn’t going to receive anymore OS & security updates. This year feel like it’s a proper upgrade. I love and prefer the Sorta Seafoam color, finish and flat display the best and just wish the Pro was like this with its upgraded features(120Hz QHD display, 11Mp ff camera, battery, telephoto, RAM) even if its minor. But now it disgusts me is how they dropped the value on the price of Pixel 5 which was initially worth $405 during the preorder and now all the sudden I saw it in stock to order (which I didn’t even get a notification after joining the waitlist) is now $250!

@@boothatron Thanks for the reply. So you'd say the haptics on the 5 would be equivalent of the 2? I type a lot so for haptics are really important. One thing I will say which is awesome on the 6 and is actually maybe leading me towards keeping it is. The voice to text is absolutely phenomenal. It basically means you can dictate rather than type a lot of the time. I'm dictating this message in fact.

@@bbarling1 I'd say they are definitely better than the two, but I no longer have the 2 to compare directly. I'm using the 4 XL at the moment, if I get use to it, I'll get a 6 I reckon.

@@boothatron Yeah. The 6 is great, however it's just the size and slipperyness. You definitely need a case, which adds bulk and weight. I might see if I can get my hands on a pixel 5 to compare. It seems like an ideal size.

So comparing daily usage there are not much changes going on. P5 still rocks

pixel 6 might be better on alot of things, but i chose the pixel 5 because of the size and reliable fingerprint scanner. I sold my iphone because the phone wouldnt unlock with my mask (i live in canada, and our government went nazi with covid 19), so i went and took the pixel because i wanted an easy unlocking phone.

6" screen all the way. It's so hard to use anything bigger than 6.1" with one hand, and they are SO big in the pocked ;(

I'll never fully get that feel of the Pixel 2 back which was IMO the best overall hardware layout in the line to date but I've grown to like the 5 and dislike the 6's departure from the fixes the 5 made over the 4. The larger size is a turn off as is the in screen fingerprint scanner. Having a dedicated scanner on the back and smaller size are perfect for on the go use and quick phone checks. But I'm just glad they didn't get rid of finger print scanning in general face recog and other options are just annoyances and battery drainers by comparison. I won't be getting the 6 but much like the host said - skipping from a 3 or 4 to 6 instead of 5 would be totally understandable with the power gains. Maybe Google will split the difference with 7 in going back to some of the layout wins of the 5 combined with the power and camera gains of the 6.

So far how do you feel about the slow fingerprint sensor everyone keeps commenting about?
Also, even more important to me, how does it fair with livestreaming? My Pixel 4a 5G always overheats after max 10 minutes if I'm lucky and then force shutsdown. Have you seen any issues like that with the Pixel 6/6 Pro so far???

Rocking the pixel 3 right now, will upgrade to 6 pro as soon as it's available in my country.

i have the pixel 5 and just got a 6 pro and i am considering going back to my pixel 5... The pixel 5 just feels solid and the 6 pro almost feels hollow when you touch the screen. Not to mention the 6 pro weighs almost 60g more and gets hotter doing the exact same things...

I financed the pixel 5 last year on a black friday deal and ended paying only $10 per month for 2 years so in the end I'm paying only $240 for it. I checked and can get $481 for a trade in on my pixel 5 with Google. The 6 is $799 in Canada so I'd pay only $318 for it after trade. That's a great deal. I really love the form factor and one handed use of the 5 but almost feel like I should upgrade just cuz it's a great price for it. Decisions decisions ,🤔

Who was disappointed with pixel 5? It's literally the last good compact phone made. What are people compensating for with 6+ inch phones? The sizes are ridiculous, it's a phone!
