    Someone probably already suggested this but I'm too lazy to scroll down: add a 'separate XYZ' node before the Gradient Texture and connect it to the 'Z' and you won't have to tinker with mapping. You'll need to apply the rotation of the object if you haven't already.

    If you do want to hand paint things, a really good way to go about it is to do paintovers in 2d and then project those onto the 3d object. If you only need to see the object from one angle, it's really efficient.

    around 13:40 you are switching the input into the mix. It disconnects one of the inputs. I noticed this as well recenlty in blender. normally it would swap them correct? or I am going crazy?

    • @craigbaker6382
      @craigbaker6382 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I'm just gonna assume you have never READ the words "ambient occlusion" nor noticed that the initials for such are "A O" . Occulsion: when something cannot be seen it is occluded. The ambient occlusion occurs when light from all around is not reaching certains areas that do not see those photons. The contact shadow near where a tire touches the ground. The area under a car on the street in a daylight scene etc.
      In your alligator example I was confused when you used the crevice data as the area with the MORE paint wear when usually areas OUTSIDE of the crevices will experience more wear. Paint doesn't get rubbed off in the crevices as easily as on the outer most parts of a convex surface that is more likely to be exposed to erosion.

    Great format! Comparing Blender's functionality to that of the best softs in the industry works very well for all kinds of users and devs. Would be very interesting to see the rendering comparison in terms of realism between.. say Cycles and Octane or Corona...

    At 12:17, you pulled a node string which connected directly into a coloramp node without doing a "shift + A" to add the coloramp beforehence.. that's doing a weird thing to my mind could you please make it stop. Looking forward to grow from padawan to jedi under your training very soon.

    Does anyone knows how to do the Transmission Roughness stuff in blender 4.0 ? Since the parameter isn't in the Principled BSDF anymore :(

  • @marivart3613
    @marivart3613 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I got a question, I just downloaded blender 4.0.2 and the "PRINCIPLED BSDF" is a little different, under "Transmission" I only got weight, not "Transmission roughness", do I need to use another BSDF, or is it under another node? I'm tring to obtain a similar effect as on the glass bottle.
