- When Wil Wheaton was a boy he loved Star Wars and Star Trek. As a child, he pretended to fly around in space on the Enterprise… and now he’s an adult who pretends to fly around in space on the Enterprise.
Join Wil as he sits down with Jessica Chobot, Jaime King, and Jesse Cox on board the bridge of the Enterprise to play a game of Star Trek: Five Year Mission! The four of them will take on roles from the original Star Trek series and work together to return home from their five-year mission.

Because that sounds like sound Picard would do. TNG was notorious for trying to enforce the Prime Directive, but then turning around and breaking it.

For people wondering, there is a wesley crusher card. His ability lets him switch a dice rolled with 1 from the pool and roll it. If all the crew members say "shut up wesley", he can exchange 2 dice.

I feel it was a mistake to not play TNG version and force Wil to play Wesley. Everyone would have used his special ability every turn and sometimes even not on his turn.
@@darqknight4505 lol. I have a feeling he feels, umm -extremely traumatized by wesley- finds that character no longer meets his current metrics, and that personal -trauma- mental health challenge is not something he likes to deel with on a old youtube show.

CrowMercury unfortunately you cant even play as Wesley Crusher in Five Year Mission (at least in the base game idk if theres an expansion)
I know, I went to check the character on board game geek and apparently his power is to reroll a die, but if everyone says "Shut up Wesley" you can reroll 2. It would have become WAY too meta at that point.
The queston is, what did Wesley Crusher do to us? If you ever saw the series, you'd understand.
Just watch TNG in german ... and you can't do anything other than HATE Wesley Crusher. Squeaky synchronized voice, wooden acting AND silly scripts which allow a kid to drive a spaceship?

I have discovered tabletop a few months ago. And i very much enjoy watching the fun you all have with these games. My wife is not so happy of my new tabletop collection. But it has created many hours of fun for all of us. Thank you for bringing us this joy.

When Jaime King starts talking, I hear her voice and know that I have heard her talk a million times on something, and sure she was in Sin City and Pearl Harbor, but there was obviously something else. And IMDB reminded me that she was Palmer on The Class.

My kids and I love this game. We actually managed to win. Twice, I think. In the several years we've owned and playerd. And once we lost with a single draw - kept having to draw additional alerts and failed as a result between that, damage, and timed alerts. This is NOT an easy game, but it is LOADS of fun!

They did that as her first draw in their final turn and that blue gave them a yellow.

Its a game. Some time in the midst of play you forget your optional abilities. I am sure other players also had powers that could have been useful as well, that they also forgot to use.

There was no coffee left in the breakroom, and I have been covered up with so much work today that I had missed lunch. it is currently raining and dreary. I love the idea of Jesse as furniture.
Imagine Felicia Day sitting down in a chair normally, and they're just playing the game like usual. But every so often, the chair seems to twitch a bit in the corner of your eye. Then, at an exciting, turning point of the game, the chair suddenly bolts upright, and Jesse's face bursts out of the back of it, and Felicia screams, and bodyguards tackle Jesse and break him.

I don't know if it's ever been said on the show, but another word for Counter-Clockwise is Widdershins. Most games have players go Clockwise for turn order, but we always play Widdershins when we play.

Great video but... Is it just me or does this game kinda suck? The rules are too simple and too much based on luck. While the entire Star Trek-theme just seems to be added for sales.

I absolutely hated that everything was rigged behind a thin veil...especially when things like game knight can do magic interesting without rigging the decks.

This game would make an excellent Space Station 13 adaptation. Clear roles and abilities, multitude of events, everything is constantly spiraling down into flames.

Well, that was incredibly disappointing. And not in the comical way. This game looked like it could've been decent fun until those timer cards were introduced. Timers do not bring fun to tabletop games; they bring panic and confusion.

Honestly, I found this episode a bit annoying with all the cuts. I looked forward to watching it though, to see Wheaton and them all fail. For i played it last weekend and we rolled extremely bad and failed to get 10 points 3 games in a row until finally reaching 16 points until we blew up.
SootCoot Yeah there were way too many "interview" sections in this episode. But it's because they lost so quickly. they should've played with Next Gen afterwards.
