"Regardless of what ship you served on." You know what, I like that phrasing better. Can you imagine? "I am an actor, and I served aboard the Starship Defiant."
i loved the look on ryans face when his dad asked if someone wants to trade something for water xD because he looked like these moments in animes when a character did something wrong and then looking away whistleing like they want to say "i dont know what you are talking about" xD

LOL. Wesley and Seven doing the space ship bump together was the best thing ever in the history of the Internet.
That might be because biologically speaking, he's not actually his son. Both Ryan and Nolan are Anne's sons from a previous relationship. The only difference is that Ryan has been legally adopted, whereas Nolan has not.
I'll be honest: Star Trek Catan looks about as interesting as the original, but this episode was worth it for Wil's epic "KHAAAAAAAN!" and the Star Trek Spaceship Bump.
That's about right. I'd rather play so many other board games than this, but if I had to get stuck playing a Catan game, I'd prefer this over the original. The retheme is a cheap effort, but works for me. And the character cards breathes more life into the game.
Ryan is a cool guy, I played League with him a few times. Haven't seen him on in quite a while. I said something in a game like "nice name, I love Wil Wheaton!" and he goes "That's my dad" - took a bit of talking, but he ultimately verified who he was.
+KingWok AOE yeah that bizarre trend of trek fans and wars fans hating on each other just because they're possessive of the word "star" or something is fading out pretty rapidly. there's a whole lot of overlap between trek fans and wars fans.
This series has raised my opinion of Wil Wheaton since he usually plays a jerk that everybody hates on television shows. I'm happy it exists and have bought two games thus far after seeing them played(Gloom and Pandemic). Great show! I would like to place a vote for the Pathfinder card game to be played! Keep up the good work (and bonus points for doing something with family members, too!)
I kinda thought Jeri was on of those 'I want to forget i was ever on Star Trek' people since you don't really hear about her, but after seeing this episode, i honestly hope they invite her again at some point, like if they ever do another game with officers from the series, like maybe: George Takei (Sulu), Jeri Ryan, and Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troy)?
I loved this one. I especially liked the sort of 'Star Trek alumni moments' where Wil Wheaton and Jeri Ryan have a little fun with the cliches of the various Star Trek shows.
I really love Table Top and thank goodness that there is finally a well edited show to demo games and quickly explains how to play games. I have a bunch of TT-inspired games, I see being loved with family and friends FOREVER! lol. Thanks an oodle!
It's probably from being in such close proximity with Sir Patrick Stewart for so many years, that a bit of the magic rubbed off on him. I'm convinced it took them this long to make Star Trek Picard because it took this long for the man to actually continue aging.
man, watching that ship bump at 21:30 was so good. I searched for other videos with other actors doing it off set and such. maybe have Shatner and Stewart in an interview together doing this impromptu would be awesome!
This was a great episode! When Jeri told Wil to shut up, I laughed and thought about the classic "Shut Up Wesley!" line. This was a fun episode! Keep up the good work!
We boxed a friend in in one game of regular Catan. He wound up having an ore monopoly and won the game by refusing to trade. The strategy can backfire.
Jeri Ryan playing Catan is just the best thing ever. One of my favorite characters on voyager playing one of my favorite board games, who needs Ice Cream! lol.
After reading about it on your blog...what I just looked for it...your website is totally different! Anyways...and you may have talked about your son Ryan. How he came to you, Wil, and asked you to adopt him. And of course had the kind of fun seen here. I was totally getting the goosebumps. Of. WOW~ This is the son he was writing or talking about. It felt like when I see actors (I would add actresses, but I know some don't like that name so I'll just put this explanation) on your show^^*
So the last hand she rolled a 7, definitely had more than 7 cards and didn't get rid of some why?! Did they all just forget about that rule?! I'm confused o.o
This episode was hilarious. I would need a pitch counter to know if it contained more LoL moments than any other, but my gut guestimate is yes. Keep it up. This is more entertaining than most major broadcast television.
That moment when you're staring at Kari wondering what you've seen her in before, and you look at her IMDb and realize that (even though you have heard her voice tons) you recognize her from WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE!!!!!!!! LIKE WHAT???!!!!
I shall leave you, Wil, as you left me. Marooned for all eternity at the center of a defunct TV series. Buried alive, buried alive...**goes to **18:26** of the video** Hehehee :D
I like to think that the reason Grant shows up and hears his screams is because Wil's screams were so powerful that they broke through the space/time barrier and traveled back to just before Episode 1 was shot, when Grant was walking towards the studio.
Hang on a second. On that last hand when Kari rolled a 7 Ryan had the Kirk card, so Kari couldn't have been immune to the Klingons and she clearly had more than 7 cards. Why didn't she have to discard?
@@allis5870 but they remembered it in this playthrough, for the most part (though I'd guess it's likely Wil just ignores the rule in his home games and only tried to include it this time thank to people calling that out the last time. Well, it would make sense at least otherwise I just don't know why they'd keep forgetting....)
Just saying... But if I saw the two of them together I'd think Ryan was his brother, not his son :p Also it fills me with happy that Star Trek Catan was won by a Jedi!
I love that Wil asked if he did that. Like they just happened to fall that way. LOL I am also loving how many different Sci-Fi references are being made. Shiny is my favorite so far. Of all the losses you've suffered Wil, this one hurts me too.

At 28:10 you can see that she only has 5 cards (same round she rolls the 7). Afterwards, an undisclosed number of rounds pass, which happens regularly on TableTop, to time 28:29 where Kari plays the winning combinations with her bagillion cards. I am sure that post productions was going for dramatic scenes and entertainment knowing some viewers are skilled at scrutinizing details. Hope this helps.
CrimsonRhalllic When time passes on Tabletop, they always do a fastforward overhead with music. Im guessing she had her resources stacked in her hand when it looked like 5. Theres really nothing to indicate that this is a later turn.
Daniel Yamagishi He just has one of those baby fat faces that makes you look super young, don't judge! (it's his stepson I'm pretty sure, or is that the other one?)

Too funny. Thank you. I recently purchased Star Trek Catan. Unfortunately, I have no one to play it with. But I understand how to play it better now. Thanks again.
18:30 THE GRANT IMAHARA CAMEO IS JUST PERFECT
OH MY!
Monty Leverett GRANT IMAHARA DIDN'T SAY THAT, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH!
too bad they didnt get Jim Parsons for that part
I thought he was going to start running in the other direction
I love the the fact that Wil calls it the Klingon Wessel.
For those of you, like me, who come here for the funny geeky things: The Star Trek Shimmy is at 21:28, and the meltdown/ Khan scream starts at 18:12.
Bonus joy at 25:18
Well those WERE the best bits :P
The Star Trek Shimmy and Hit were THE BEST. SO FUNNY.
3:32 Wil's hands...
Well played, Mr. Wheaton. Well played.
"Regardless of what ship you served on." You know what, I like that phrasing better. Can you imagine? "I am an actor, and I served aboard the Starship Defiant."
TOS Defiant or DS9 Defiant? Because the first pretty much makes you an extra. The second makes you Michael Dorn.
Grant just walking by and being like "what the f***?" is the best thing ever.

Grant Imahara was the star of this episode
Totally
Its so awesome that you got Jeri Ryan on this event.
That was so much fun to watch. It was seriously like getting to hang out with Jeri Ryan and Wil Wheaton, and that's amazing.

HarbingerofFire But you almost can't recognise Will in TNG :p!
Wesley Crusher--son of Beverly Crusher--and 7 of 9, formerly known as Annika Hanson respectively; sorry if I misspelled her name
Someone should use Wil's DNA for anti-aging gene therapy research.

+John Dilig Yep, that whole conversation segment between Jeri and Wil was pure gold.
I thought it was kind of funny how Ryan Wheaton made Wil sound kind of like a Star Trek-ish version of Grandpa Simpson.
Great cameo of Grant Imahara outside hearing Wil scream ;-)
I actually raised my arms in triumph when Jerry and Wil did the attack acting because it was so awesome.
I love how "Kari is a witch" counts as a "scientific explanation". Science just keeps getting better and better!

bring back Grant too! The fact he showed up to film that short 5 seconds is amazing!
Swordfish
Meh, grant is about as interesting as brick.
jery has the rare superpower of getting fucking HOTTER as older she gets xD damn how can i concentrate on that game with her on the table xD
Tell me about it. 10/10, would hit it.
True...shame she's married lol
Her phazer is always set on stunning.
Daren Redman
Because if she was single you'd have a chance, right? ;)
No, no, she looks old
That was beautiful, this is one of my all-time favourite episodes of Tabletop. So many favourite bits. :D

After all that, I was sure it was gonna end with a "Shut up, Wesley!"
Wil's subtle revenge: Spell the winner's name wrong on her certificate.
Look it's R2D2. I loved him in Star Trek. "Pic of Dalek"
So LOVE this show!! Keep them coming!

It's an actor thing. They all have Dorian Grey-style portraits hidden somewhere.
Its even weirder than Wil Wheaton is over 40.
Ryan is his stepson and was adopted by will when Ryan was 19
Nicole Davis And Will has never actually had sex with a woman.
Nicole Davis Will adopted Ryan when Will was 19....from what you are saying it seemed like Will adopted Ryan 2-3 years ago....

Jeri's still gorgeous. I know everyone always says it, but everyone always says it because it's true.
She's so much prettier when she can wear her hair down and smile, i.e. when she's not Seven-of-Nine.
What I like most about her is her great personality and that she still looks hot WITHOUT any make-up.
So the last hand she rolled a 7, definitely had more than 7 cards and didn't get rid of some why?! Did they all just forget about that rule?! I'm confused o.o
Yep she cheated the win
