For me the Triumph is THE best motorcycle ever. Others may be faster on the track but on the road it is unbeatable. Broad spread of torque, beautifully matched gear box to power output, light & flickable handling, in fact I would describe the handling as 'instinctive' - think a bend and it goes round it. As for the sound when you wind it up - no 4 can match the torn calico of a triple.
Im taking delivery of my Ninja zx6r today :D a couple years old but new to me and it will be my first 600cc bike my first was a cbr 250R so Im looking forward to being able to do highway speeds and not worry so much when I really need to get out of the way :D

@DerOdka I figured itd be uncomfortable but at least its there as an option. Do you have to buy it aftermarket or does it just come with a cover that you can take off when needed?
ive had two Kawasaki ninjas 2010 and the 2011 and they are an awesome supersport 600cc ive recently sold my 2010 zx6r now and upgraded to a 2013 triumph Daytona 675r WOW they are everything people say and more a truly awesome bike if ever anyone is thinking of buying one do it they don't disappoint!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 2006 Daytona in gold, and it is fantastic. The ZX-6R back then was the 636 motor that was well liked, and that was one of the other bikes I tried at the time, but the styling and sound of the Triumph won me over. Either way, you can't really go wrong, but I am disappointed that Triumph doesn't offer the colors they offered first year except for red. The colors they have now, you can get on any bike, but the gray and gold in '06 made the bike truly unique.
Hey buddy, no offense but some of my friends tought it too....I have Daytona 675 - 2008 and a friend of mine has the - R6 2009. We have put both together a couple of times (5 ou 6 x) in many different ways...and there is no way....always Daytona!!! R6 is too weak at low rpms. A time when my friend reached 278Km/h - 173 mph with the R6...my Daytona was ahead at only 265 Km/h - 165 mph in the speedometer. The only one that can face Daytona is the new ZX-6R....an increadble bike! Rgs from Brazil!!!
im in the process of choosing between the bikes.... and this didnt help at all lol. I like riding for a LONG time though.... and am 6'2", 180.. would the 675 be a much better bike if I changed the seat?
Got a 2009 ZX6R, it's a blast to ride on track/street, and (for me) it's one of the best-looking sportbikes I've ever had. But the sound and looks of that Triumph are winners.
I feel your pain. I also work at a multiline dealer including Ducati and Triumph. Ducati is far and wide the most frustrating company to deal with, from parts availability to fiche access, and they are frequently in the shop...
@wolfyys I called it a 636 because I used to ride with someone who had an 05 and he always referred to it as his "636"(guess it just stuck with me) but you are correct the 09 is 599cc and is a zx6r just like all of the 600cc class ninja race bikes including the "636's"(03-06 model). So pat yourself on the back for correcting my typo. For the record: sometime. I call my zx10r a zx10 or 10R for short, is that ok?
@DOPOPI Yes, very comfortable while riding. Just adjust the rear sets (footpegs) a bit. You will be rather uncomfortable at a dead standstill. But if you're buying the bike to look cool sitting on it, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons. At 6ft I can sit with flat feet on my CBR600RR. Most 600s are the same.
I just completed today my test ride in all 600cc category including these two. My favorite? Daytona 100%. why? It has everything that all 600 have plus the style and sound are unique. Will buy next week.
I adore my zx6r, but don't be a careless rider like I used to be. I sped everywhere, redlining and holding it for miles. Eventually I broke it. (broke the connecting rod; put it right through the casing) Fortunately I didn't go down and managed to get another engine but now I will ride more sensibly.
I did the same to my first bike, a ninja 250. cruised at it's top speed for ~40miles every day heading to work and back from work (cops don't bother bikes on the path that I took) Then one day, boom goes the engine :'( now I'm looking to get a bike for fun now instead of just commuting, something that I won't top out every ride if I want to push myself a bit...675 seems to be just the bill
Shit, guys. Maybe it's a good thing I crushed my femur at 45 against a dumbass turning in front of me rather than sending a rod through the casing at 90 mph. Used to do that shit all the time, especially on cold days. Probably a good 10-15 mi each day at redline.
For all the guys wanting Ducati's. I personally deal with a Triumph and Ducati dealership on regular basis. There is no Ducati warehouse in the US all parts have to come through Italy. That was my biggest concern when I wanted to get one. Waiting weeks for every part to come through customs each time something breaks.
zx6r is my def pick! Came to the dealership today and looked at these 2 bikes. Both new zx6r is 7800 otd and 675 is 10 otd. I brought my new zx6r home that day.
What did you get? I got the 2012 Ninja. My friend went with 2013 Daytona. Haven't swapped bikes yet, he's breaking it in first. Love the Ninja, perfectly rounded package.

I've got the Daytona and it's wicked. I've got the smallest displacment in my riding group but can reel the big gys in in tight corners. The tighter the better.
I have this bike except the monster edition, its my very first bike, im 16, i love it though, it has soooooo much power its insane i got it new with yoshi pipes from the dealership, i wouldnt ask for anything else, handles great 2, leans into turns real smooth, damper is great 2 when im late for school and haulin ass down the freeway splitting lanes, you can even adjust on spot.

Dam that is the best answer I ever heard, Newengland. Last year i was looking around for a 600 an this was my debate, get the 08 675 or the 07 zx6r. I sat on both bikes, I loved the design of the 675 and the electric blue color of it but when i sat on the kawi I said to myself this bike was meant for me lol plus i got a great deal on it with 100 miles on it hardley ridden. I bought it in april of 09 and now have 3,000 mi. on it and love it.Your heart will deff. let you know which bike to pick
I am about the same build as you, and the 675 is extremely small, it is my favorite bike, but just too small for me, check them out in person to decide though.
I own a 675 and there is no way i would look anywhere else. Triumph built this bike to take on the Japanese market not only did they do it they raised the bar.
I love my Kawi. I've been on some others and didn't like the feel or performance. Been riding Kawi since the beginning so....yep kawi is what i'm staying with :)
I always like the zx6r. But I like the ride better on the daytona it's more comfortable to me and I think it handle's better than the r6. You dont have to be small to ride a 600 either. I'm 6ft1in 250 and I love to ride.

got an 09 ninja zx6, love it. Bike has fantastic balance and a very strong motor for 600 class. I'm sure the Daytona is excellent too, never rode one but for the ninja's sake its a blast to ride.
csufr1 zx6r = 129hp, 193kg 675 = 124hp 185kg Pretty much equal output But yes, the zx6r is much better suited to the street, as it was said, but fuck that. The 675 feels like you're on the track, even while on your way to work.
they seem relatively the same imo. i'm all about comfort and neither one of these bikes are slow but i'd rather drive the kawasaki. i believe comfort is a big issue if your riding and if your not comfortable it'll be less fun.
ive got the 2009 kawazaki green zx6-r very good bike only downside is IMO the hard ride no play in it what so ever but more forgiving than the older ninjas of past years
Honestly I think comfort isn't even something one takes into consideration when buying a sport bike, even the most comfortable one is uncomfortable. I personally would take the Triumph's much gruntier engine and exotic looks over any japanese supersport without thinking twice.
Unless you keep your Jap 600 at 10k + rpm everywhere, the 675 will have you for lunch. It's by far the best middleweight bike to live with, and truly beautiful too. Basically, if you're in the market for a 600, you have to try the Triumph. If you've just bought a 4 cylinder 600, don't ride a Daytona - you'll cry!
Kinda funny he said that cause alot of people i know and ive always thaught the ninja was like the good learning bike but not exactly top of the line like Suzuki Gsxr and Yamaha R6. I think the specs themselves prove that in iteslf
I am not sure how a motorcycle can win and lose a comparison at the same time..... I know that I would go with the Zixxer 6R, the Triumph is a great bike but it comes up to short in every catagory. Being that it is not a true 600 I feel that it is better suited for the GSXR 750 and Duc 848..... my .02 of course! For the record I am leaning toward the 2010 Z1000; better for the type of riding I do, but it is going to come down to how I feel the day I walk into the dealership!
the 675 has superior sound! but change the standard exhaust against something else. I use the triumph "effect" exhaust (one pipe) it give you goose bumps when you move the throttle :D
@jambo33333 couldnt agree with you more. I still own mine and couldnt be more happier with it My friend has an R6s model with full exhaust upgrade (untuned) I still pull away from him on highway. These ninjas were built pretty solidly for a 600 cc bike

I'd say the zx6, i used to own a street tripple... Was a great ride, but parts/customs are just a pain. Also, low sided the bike ona track, small amount of dmg... Took 2 months 2 get new footpegs ! i mean seriously 2 months!
got a 08' daytona...best bike from the 600cc...can get up with 750 GSX-R any time...some bike may get quicker around the corner than this...but its nothing compared to the earlier boost and torque the bikes deliver you from lower to mid-range rpm...in straight you just completely blast all those japanese. Triumph all the way man...Garry McCoy is the man !
Saying you don't like the silver bits on the the 675 Daytona is like saying you don't think Miss America looks as hot in a silver bikini... it's a gorgeous bike nonetheless :)
I'd say they hold their name perfectly... But those L twins are TRACK motors like only... Unless you enjoy more vibration in your handle bars than a Harley could every dream deliver and always running about 5k rpm. ALWAYS.
It's not comfortable after about an hour, but I don't think many racing bikes are hahaah It handles great, my friends love how easy it is to handle compared to their bikes.

Does a slipper clutch allow to dump the clutch, and it will slip to prevent too much wheel spin/stand?

All the modern SS 600s from the big manufacturers are more than a match for most on the roads. It comes down to which bike fits you best.

In three years when the paint is pealing off of the Kawi, you'll wish you'd have chosen the Triumph. Build quality is night and day.

Slipper clutch prevents the rear wheel locking up when you change down the gears.

@tuber12321 JRMC48 has a 636, i was responding to JRMC48, not the zx6r, and they stopped making the 636 in 2005 i think

Kawasaki messed up the styling in 09. The 07 and 08 were awesome looking bikes.

Saying you don't like the silver bits on the the 675 Daytona is like saying you don't think Miss America looks as hot in a silver bikini... it's a gorgeous bike nonetheless :)

I'd say they hold their name perfectly...
But those L twins are TRACK motors like only... Unless you enjoy more vibration in your handle bars than a Harley could every dream deliver and always running about 5k rpm. ALWAYS.
It's not comfortable after about an hour, but I don't think many racing bikes are hahaah
It handles great, my friends love how easy it is to handle compared to their bikes.
I like the Triumph mainly because not everyone has one.
Most racing classes give the Triumph a weight penalty which is holding it back. ;)
Id go for the triumph just because its a bit different, that and im tired of inline 4's that all seem the same

I dont own one but i sat on the triumph at a dealer and yea the seat is pretty uncomfortable haha
@wolfyys Ahh...yea. WTF did you think I was talkin about? I called it the zx6r because that's how many cc's they had from 03-06 and people back then just called um 636's. And yes I realize this one is an 09 with 599cc's and 115whp. Thanks for crossing my t's and dotting my i's. I'm glad you cleared up all of that extreme confustion..lol u were kidding right?

Maybe to sit like a tool at a stoplight and rev your engine. Look at how tall Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, Biaggi and Pedrosa are.

i take it youve never ridden the triumph then? i ride with friends who have the cbr 600 rr ,mv agusta,,and it beats both hands down..tho the mv is very close!
