This song, “Voodoo Thing” and “Why’d You Lie” are good early Colin James hits. “Freedom” is a really good later track.

There's another Canadian band called The Northern Pikes whose triple Juno winning (1991) song "She Ain't Pretty" is a must see video, it would definitely be on a play list with "Just Came Back" & Robert Palmers "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)".

My wife used to work in an office where the whole office would break out in song to the choruses of 'She Ain't Pretty' and 'I Just Came Back' when they heard them on the radio. Remembering that now makes me think of the great Tragically Hip song 'My Music at Work'. Sometimes its that music that gets us through the day (or night shift).

@@rossmacintosh5652 yes, definitely great for the night shift playlist to get through the lulls.

Colin James is from Regina, Saskatchewan which is the next prairie province beside Manitoba where I am from. Not exactly the deep south. LOL He started to play guitar at 8 years old and like the guys in Rush dropped out of high school to play music. Another songs
    Keep on Loving Me Baby
    Voodoo Thing
I just got my Christmas ornament today! Thanks very much! 🎄💖

Yup... that was my first thought... definitely got a Robert Palmer vibe. Even the video does, with the background singers..

This man is from my hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and he is a LEGEND in the city! Greatest guitarist that ever came from the place, and one of the most known Saskatchewan musicians in history! "Voodoo Thing" and "Chicks and Cars (& the Third World War)" are pretty cool as well

One of the best burns ever at an ex..."I didn't look up your number, I just looked on the wall."
Colin James had a number of hits in a number of different Blues sub-genres. He had a whole "Colin James and the Little Big Band" phase.

For his later work, I would highly recommend 'Far Away Like a Radio.'

Cool song. I was in a half cover half original band here in Buffalo we used to do this song. It's great the Canadian bands you do reviews on. Most of these artists were huge in the north east but not so much below that. Thanks for the great videos. The Eddie Money song you were trying to think of maybe Shakin?
