Thank you for addressing people calling LV basic! I seriously can not stand when people say that!!! If I wanted a purse from another luxury brand I would get it but I generally love LV more than Chanel, Dior, Hermes, etc…

Idk where he was going with the looks. However, as a little girl I remember seeing my first Louis Vuitton trunk on Westerns. When ranchers brought a woman from the city to the cowboy life she always had a trunk on the carriage. I'm actually American Indian so I was pleased to see models from my background. However, idk if I agree with how some of the looks appeared like a costume. We(American Indians) have our traditional regalias that ppl refer to as costumes which is not appropriate to say because it's not a costume. Sooooo prolly he was pushing the line. Like how u said he pushed the line with the tims

Thousand dollar cowboy boots are actually not expensive for boots.
I consider it to be Western/ Cowboy with a Native American influence. If it was Native American, it would be deerskin. I love it!

Hi! Thank you for courage to express your thoughts and opinions in this space! I agree that the Timberland collab can be seen as incongruent with the brand/collection. While I don’t think it was intentional or malicious, the examples you used to justify that point can be seen by some to further cement the biased negative opinion of black people (particularly black men) that already exists….slippery slope.

The oddness for me is that the new Speedies in their bright pretty colors don't match the vibe of the western, don't match the vibe of the Tims......it's just chaos🤷🏻♀️

Interesting take on the Timberland boots. They were popular when I was in college (late 70’s early 80’s) The style I’m referring to was a lace up ankle boot that definitely did not look like a construction boot. Mine were suede not leather. Never did I correlate these shoes with “the hood” or even construction workers. Older white female here. That being said I would never buy the LV timberland boots but I don’t buy any luxury collaborations with shoes including the Birkenstock/ Dior. (I think it was Dior) I love Birkenstocks, don’t need them to be associated with a designer brand. Still love your red speedy!! Can’t wait to see the next color you buy.

I was underwhelmed by Pharrell’s latest showing! The native and cowboy themed fashion was for an audience that he is never going to appeal too. Your take on the “Timbs” was a lot! Obviously you did not grow up in the age of hip hop where those boots were popularized. It was Timbs and puffer coats. Now as a middle age woman 45+ club I’m not wearing those boots and neither is my husband unless it’s work related like his steel toe boots. But trust and believe there will be a segment of the population that will buy and wear those boots. Did we forget Pharrell comes from Hip Hop and the entertainment community? So it was probably a nod to that time and he was probably appealing to an audience that we’re clearly not a part of and I’m ok with that. Now with that said I’m loving the leather speedy bags and the various color offerings. Bring them on! 🔥🔥🔥

@@KENYSHA. I don’t think Timbs are luxury either and some would argue that the canvas speedy bag isn’t as well. Now that the bag has been elevated with the leather iteration one can now say it’s luxury. I also distinctly remember you stating you dare anyone to now say LV is not on par with Chanel and Hermes with the addition of the leather speedy bag. Your right about those Tims. The entire Harlem/Bronx community is running out for the LV Timberlands right now, they are sold in every color and still worn in the city. Pharrell knows who his target audience is.

Are you a thriving luxury thug😂? Your speedy is🔥and I agree that the colors are finally giving like Hermes. I heard that the collection was done in collaboration with two tribes but do not know how compensation was worked out. I agree though that the collection still feels incongruous and trying too hard.
