Making healers and def scaling characters viable is so wonderful to see. So many unique comps and resurgences of characters in recent days is refreshing.
Everyone was always viable anyway, the game is really easy so that you can use anything and still full star the abyss
Great thing about gorou is he isnt def scaling, unless you wanna make him do more damage/healing (with c4), so you can throw on the unused 4-star artifacts like Exile so you can make him a better energy funneler, which I love.

@@gundam4022 Its not because their only healers: Diona has shielding, Bennett is a huge atk booster, etc.

I think Gorou's strength is that he's genuninely the most minimum investment character in the game to offset his complete uselessness outside of geo comps. From the 206 flat defence you get at talent lvl1 to 10 you get an extra 144 defence on his skill. At C0, you only need to level him to 20+ to get most of his potential out of him. I've already vowed to not level this boy at all until I get C4 and that's a long way away.
That's commitment. I got a C1 Gorou while I was wishing for Otto and will prob lvl him to unlock his second passive, put a build on him, and he's good to go for me
Man people really hate defense,i don't mind a little more defense for my squishy Ayaka,especially when no one use healer in team.

@@sire2283 all you need to do is hold her skill and swap out,she is also an excellent cryo battery which helps ayaka's burst uptime with her cryo particles and favonius proc(twice what gorou can give)and her skill is also one of the best batteries in game.
Why would you ever use gorou in a non geo non defense scaling team?

If you own Albado, then you can use both Arataki Itto and Noelle as ulternating DPS/healing. As long as Albedo's E is on the field, Noelle can create a ton of orbs as she procs blossoms all while hitting like an adorable truck-kun.

Imo 4pc noblesse is the best choice. The 30% of defense on husk will only buff his damage and healing (assuming you have C4), and the extra energy recharge of the emblem set isn't needed as long as you can get over 180% ER and a decent amount of crit rate for fav bow. Having the 20% boost from Noblesse for Albedo and Zhongli's Q is a huge boost, and it also still benefits Itto. Another option is 2pc husk and 2pc maiden/ocean hued to maximize the healing of his C4, both are better options than 2pc husk an 2pc emblem assuming your sub-stats are good enough.

I personally use Elegy and Nobless for him since I just use him for buffs. His burst alone can proc Elegy's. Eventhough I use him for Itto and Noelle the 20% from Nobless + 30% from R3 Elegy is still a significat damage boost. His sub dps capabilites are probably mediocre so I don't go full defense for him.

Should also be noted you can take advantage of off field attackers like Beidou, Fischl, Raiden, and Xingqiu in the abyss to break shields faster if needed.

he literally the perfect bridge for geo comp
I'd swap out Zhongli for Bennet or Mona in all honesty. Easier to crystalize with and either hard cc debuff or healing + attack buff for your geo carries. Trust me it adds a lot even for Itto and Noelle.
I know this is old, but I think Zhongli is superior because his shield allows you to make use of double Geo resonance. No, crystalize shields are not reliable for this purpose.

Im running ER def def on a noblesse set on level 70/80 gorou and my defense is almost the same as yours, mine is 1369, so is running 2 piece husk not all that worth? I dont have a lot of defense sub stats either

Not sure if you mentioned this but another reason to activate skill before your burst is because the skill will buff Gorou defense. This will increase the output of the burst buff. Not many streamers mention this if at all.

I would say 4 piece Husk of Opulent Dreams is better for the extra DEF. Especially in a mono geo team where there will be tons of energy generated.
wait im confused if i dont have his c4 do i still need to use er% - def% - def% or just random main stat focusing on er% ???

Wait 200 ER? Considering youll mostly play him in mono Geo comps, is that much recharge really needed
I have him(at C0 unfortunately) with the Exile set with 220% Er and he can keep up both his and Itto’s Burst =D

4-noblesse doesnt make sense because the 20% ATK buff doesnt contribute a lot, considering Itto/Noelle's harder scaling with DEF

With husk just contributing to Gorou's abyssmal personal damage, while emblem gives 20% recharge just to make sure the burst is up everytime.
4x NO isn't that bad of a choice if you can stack up ER. Additional damage is still additional damage, that's what 2Husk2Emblem couldn't give to the party.
I'm watching this even though I'm not pulling for gorou bc I'm at 70 pity, got my 4* on 70 (xiangling c7 😀) and want ganyu
I’ve been struggling with who I want next and ended up wishing on this banner for gorou but I got him my first wish and wanted c3 xiangling. Ended up with c2 and a c3 Barbara who was originally c0 :’). I’m seeing my luck on ganyu if I can win 50/50 and I’m at 71 pity

Please I got Itto first than Gorou at soft pity in 77 pulls and got gorou 20 pulls after 💀 so took about 97 wishes for ONE gorou

He does need healing artifacts, except you want the healing bonus right. But his healing scales of his DEF at a flat rate. If you want healing just stack and stack defense

depends on what the shield scales off
Yes, the active characters’ defense will affect how much damage the active shield will take.
Higher defense = the shield will take less dmg
But as Joi ri says the total dmg a shield can absorb is affected by whatever the shield scales off of.

Is it good to have triple Geo (Gorou, Albedo & Zhongli) with Beidou as main DPS
I think Gorou 3 buff wont beneffit for Beidou, but i think it can help Albedo do deal more dmg.

For the alternative, i think Beidou, Bennet, Albedo & Zhongli would be great.
theres really no point in having gorou in that team, youre better off running fischl to funnel particles to beidou, then using albedo and zhongli for sub dps, passive damage, and geo resonance

So, if I want a DPS Gorou, what 4 star weapon do I need on him & Artifact set?(Not gonna waste all my primogems on a weapon banter just for a 5 star weapon)
As for talents, it's kinda weird to "not" level up a talent for a Burst in my opinion.
Assuming you're talking about maximizing skill and burst dmg:
For artifacts you want 4p husk or if you dont have that then 2p husk 2p archaic
For weapons I'd say focus on high cv weapons, base atk shouldn't matter much as atk only affects his skill, for example:
Viridescent hunt
Blackcliff warbow
Some three star weapons
Stringless is an okay choice because of its passive

I personally Value Noblesse for Ning support, and also Itto(he benefits from Attack buffs)

Not really recommended since she does not scale off defense. Or if you use 3 geo party members, you will get a geo dmg bonus but that's it as a buff. Gorou is not very practical with any other characters other than Itto and Noelle at the current Moment.
Ugh that's a shame, was hoping to use him with her and Zhongli, Bennet. I don't use Noelle nor will I get Itto lol

@@Kimizii_ Fair. I'm personally skipping shenhe (I'm only 20 pity after getting Itto) and got a C1 Gorou in the process. Just hit pity on weapon banner too and got the Redhorn. I'd been saving since the Hu Tao rerun. Guess I'm saving for the Dendro Acheon now lmao. Hoping I keep my 50/50 win streak on the weap banner going. Redhorn is no. 5.

probably cause gorou has no other option for 2pc 2pc and preparation for c6 gorou.

with the silly barrage of DEF artifacts across ALL domains since 2.3 ( and before) i have plenty of Noblesse pieces with plenty of DEF, LMAO. I can build any character with so much DEF to be invulnerable by now.

im wishing i didnt use them all for lvling other artifacts now😭 so far i only have two exile artifacts for him lol
I have 132 pieces of Exile at AR50
Not really as cheap as you think it is, 'cause it requires you to farm bosses, and they all cost 40 resin, and not every boss has the Exile set in their drop list, some have Instructor and Berserker set. In other words, it's a rather scarce set that you might pick up when farming bosses for ascension mats.
@@ShadowStrikerTheLoneWolf as someone who keeps collecting 4* artifacts with good substats, i find this one is quite cheap. AR 58 btw
@@ShadowStrikerTheLoneWolf it is cheap because you can get 4 star exile pieces open world without killing bosses and spending resin. You can get exile from elite enemies which is completely free

Legends say if you have Gorou C4 and slap 4pc Maiden he becomes Miss Hina
Honestly C4 Gorou isn't that great, if you don't also use a shield character, as Itto decreaseses his resistances and the provided healing wouldn't be high enough.
Bennet on the other hand also heals around every 1,5 seconds, but way higher than Gorou and without cons needed.
Now don't get me wrong it's still a good constellation, but not as great as many people praise it to be.
And since Itto's scaling adds defense on top of his base attack, I could see a team comp like Itto, Albedo, Gorou, Bennet. It's also a nice quality of life for anyone with a C6 Bennett
Thing is you can use Gorou C4 + Itto + Geo + offield (like Fischl or XQ) and put Bennett on another team, since now your Gorou can provide some healing.
Gorou C4 is great on my team! For corrosion, since I stacked DEF and ER on him. I do have him C6 though so he is way way better than bennet for me.
