    These trees look really fun. I have seen them before, but have forgotten how to make them. I sometimes get stuck in my head on what to do with the blocks, but really, the possibilities are about endless. I like the wonky look. I used to think everything had to match, and be symmetrical, but I have "grown" beyond that stigma (lol). Have a great weekend, Robin.

      Houses for kids sound wonderful. Yes, a few trees would go nicely. You can also use rectangles to make your trees if you want them tall and skinny.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. A tree quilt would be so much fun to make. You could plan your trees or just grab your scraps and make a forest. I think a quilt full of holiday trees would be fun too. It would use up the smaller chunks of holiday fabric in my stash. I think an Easter tree can be on the same quilt as a Christmas tree.

    Thanks Robin for a fun video on this tree block. I associate this tree shape with trees on the mountains. Our trees in the Arizona deserts are more spread out and flatter on top. I might try to make a desert tree block by adding one more cut by cutting a strip from the top and making the two angled cuts not meet, resulting in more of a trapezoid shape. ❤

    Really helpful and clears up my questions. Thanks much! Did the trees on the bottom have the trunks slightly off center? It seemed a bit like it when u turned them over. Just wondered…like the 4 patch!! Thank you!

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad my video was helpful. I believe the trunks are centered but it’s been awhile since I made them. I rewatched the part where I added the trunk. I folded my tree in half to find the center point of the base of the tree. I think the angle that I recorded add made It look off especially when you look at the trunk and the point of the tree. You can center your trunk on the base of the tree and also make sure It lines up with the point at the top of the tree. I hope that helps.

    When you mentioned pink tree my idea wheel started going. I put up 13 trees each with a theme. I am thinking I could make 13 of the small blocks. One each in the theme of one of my trees. I think I could make a runner for across the top of the couch where cat likes to sit and watch birds.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have been away for a while...what's the code word for?

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome back. The code word is a fun “game”. If you’re arch my videos from start to end then you’re a super fan. At the end of each video I give a code word that you can use in your comment. It’s helpful for those that want to leave a comment but don’t really know what to say. Of course It helps my channel but I just love reading everyone’s comments to see how they use the code word. Randomly I’ll choose a video and send out a little something to a couple people who have used the code word in that day’s video. It could be a small gift like the needle book or a scrappy card or fabric postcard. 🦩🦩🦩

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@betterdazes1648 Thanks. Karen’s Puzzles uses a code word with no giveaways involved. When I first heard It I thought It was a brilliant idea. When I watch a video sometimes the only thing I have to say is great video or I love your project. A bit boring. Providing a code word makes leaving a comment easier. 😁
